I need find a printer for my desktop 10.4

What makes you think svergara has a MacBook?
10.4.0 through 10.4.3 didn't even come on any MacBook or Intel Mac for that matter.
10.4.4 through 10.4.11 may be a MacBook, or may be another Intel Mac, or another PowerPC Mac.
Svergara,
Please state what computer you have in Apple menu -> About This Mac.   If possible open the System Profiler in Applications or Applications -> Utilities and also tell us your machine ID.  It should be in the format PowerMac 8,2, or MacBook 1,1.   Or at minimum tell us is it an G3, G4, G5, or Intel CPU.
DO NOT give us your serial number.  That's your key to your personal info that someone can use against you.

    Hi cantfindanything,
I am gathering you are trying to get an iPod repaired by Apple.
In the US for iPod Touch Generation 5:
Every iPod comes with a one-year limited warranty and 90 days of complimentary telephone technical support.
If you are trying to get a replacement or repair job, Apple will just need your Serial Number, found on either the back of your iPod Touch or in: Settings, General, About, Serial Number.
When Apple receives this number, their database will be able to show up your information including device purchase and activation.
To get a repair job/replacement, it is best to talk to Apple on the phone or go to your nearest Apple store to find out possible resolutions.
    To contact Apple call:
    1-800-MY-APPLE
You can also take the iPod into your closest Apple Store and give them your serial number and they will be able to help you: http://www.apple.com/retail/storelist/

  • Finding a printer for imac G3 using OS 9.0.4

I have a refurbished iMac G3 slot CD running OS 9.0.4. I got this more or less free and am trying to set it up for my sister (low income and new to computers) to run email and Apple Works). I need to identify a cheap printer she can use but all the ones I can see are OS X only. I used to be a Mac user but for the past 6 years have been using PCs, so am a bit out of the loop technically. I don't really want to upgrade the machine, which is running really well and very clean right now, till I am sure she will use it and am looking for low cost solutions. Can anyone help please? sory if this has been asked a million times already.. (I'm in the UK btw )

I agree that used is the way to go, I recommend looking locally and make sure you can return it if it doesn't work for you.
I don't know if you can do this with thrift shops where you are, but I have had good luck with my local Goodwill thrift store when I wanted to get a printer for my daughter. I found a very nice Epson 740 that I already had the driver CD for, because I owned one, and that I know will work with OS 9.whatever. I cheated and brought a Wallstreet with the driver already installed to the store, so I could test it, and the printer cable. (I was getting the printer to go with a Wallstreet so there would be no USB.) I would imagine, although I have not checked, that most older printer drivers would still be available online to download from the manufacturers' websites.
I don't know if you need to update to OS 9.2, it wouldn't hurt, but it would definitely be a good idea to get up to OS 9.1, it's much more "finished". I still use 9, I like it a lot and I still don't think it was broken or unstable or any or that. The only reason I'm using X 10.4 is because that's what came on my iMac G5!

  • Just need a cheap printer for home use

Can sombody suggest a cheap color printer (say around $50) that I can use at home to just print simple documents. I want something I can hook in to my Airport Extreme by USB, that will let me print from both a PC and a Powerbook running Tiger.
I just bought a Lexmark Z735, and it doesn't seem to be at all Mac compatible. There are no Mac drivers, even on their website.

    Hi,
I found a really great ink jet printer for you that will work with both Mac & PC. It is from Epson and only costs $59.99. The Epson Stylus C68 offers the perfect solution for fast, affordable home printing. You can print your simple documents as well as photos too. Visit this link to learn more:

I did check out the Lexmark Z735 and you are correct, there is no driver supported for the Mac. It is for PCs only.

I too have an 8500 AIO (A909g), and in general I like it a lot. Have you tried using it to print directly on envelopes? I have not tried that personally, but it seems like the printer is capable of having multiple envelopes loaded at once for printing. Also, if you don't have it already, you can buy a 2nd tray for the 8500, so you can keep envelopes loaded in that tray, without needing to remove paper from Tray 1 all the time.
Another option might be to get transparent labels and print on those, instead of printing directly on envelopes. I do that, and the finished product looks pretty smart.

  • Help needed with existing printer for MacBook

Apologies if this question is in the wrong section of the forum - please feel free to move it!
I am new to the "Apple Experience" and have had this superb MacBook for a couple of week now. I need to connect my existing laser printer, a Samsung ML-1750 to the MacBook and so far, I have had no joy. The Samsung website is not a lot of help with regard to downloading a Mac driver and while the MacBook seems to have found the ML-1750, when printing, the printer just outputs a load of garbage! From where do I obtain the correct driver!
    Please help!
    Thanks, Dan

    Hi Dan,
    welcome to macbook forum,
Try gimp-print as suggested by Kappy and or you can choose either the nearest model to your samsungs or generic post scripts printer.

  • I need some small prints for scrapbook

I'm trying to put multiple photos (2x 2"x3") onto a 4"x6" sheet and save in that configuration to send off to be printed. I have Mac version 8 of PSE.  iPhoto will do the job nicely if I print it at home, but I can't seem to save in the 2 pics per sheet to export to my Costco account.  This must be an easy process that's eluding me.

    Try this, Kathie:
Ascertain the resolution of the picture files. To do this, go to Image>resize>image size. Read the resolution in px/in, write it down.
I assume that your images have been cropped to 2x3" dimensions.
Go to File>new>blank file, enter 4" & 6" in the appropriate fields, resolution to the value ascertained in step #1. We will copy/paste both pictures to this blank file.
Open both picture files. They should be visible in the photo bin
For picture #1, go to select>all, then Edit>copy to put it on the clipboard
Open the blank file from Step #3, go to Edit paste.
Repeat this process for picture #2
Each picture will be on its own layer
Access the move tool to position the pictures and to resize, if necessary, with the corner handles of the bounding box.
Please report back with your progress.

  • Where can I find a program for better desktop customization?

So, I noticed that the customization options for my Mac OS X are terribly simplistic, as opposed to the detailed options on my Windows 7. Are there any known apps that provide similar, if not better options for font, color, and window shape personalization?

None that are stable as Apple keeps changing things under the hood constantly and breaking them.
Also Apple releases a new OS X version annually, so there is a problem with market share of each OS X version that doesnt' make it worthwhile for developers to keep up with all the changes and breakage that occurs.
OS X is about 6% of the PC market share and broken down like this
    10.4 - 4.5%
    10.5 15%
    10.6 - 52%
    10.7 - 30%
    10.8 - just released
If you want UI customization either run Windows or Linux in a virtual machine.
Windows 7 will last a decade easily, so you can change things and it will stay that way.
Linux versions last a long time too, but the  commercial software selection is limited, some decent freeware though.
Windows in BootCamp or Virtual Machine?
For web browsing you can get away with using Firefox as it's customizable. Safari will make you go blind.
Easier surfing option for hard of seeing users

  • Need advice on choosing laser printer for use w/Illustrator

I know there are a few other threads out there on printers but I'm hoping to get answers specific to my situation. I need a laser printer that isn't astronomically priced and as big as a warehouse. Basically we send all our stuff to outside printers, but need a good printer for proofing our work. Currently using an HP 4200n supplied to us (4 artists) by our company. We'd like to get a printer just for the artists, which will give us better quality than this one which seems a basic office printer.
We're also printing on basic office paper - what type paper would you recommend for graphics to look clean and sharp?
    Criteria are:
    1 - higher resolution - up to 1200dpi
2 - color preferred but not necessary
3 - wysiwyg so it will match what we're doing on screen (95% of our work is grayscale graphics)
4 - not so costly the company will refuse to purchase for us (initial cost and supplies)
Thanks to all who reply - also like to hear what to stay away from.

To Jacob's advice, I would add...
    1. If you have the choice between genuine Adobe PostScript and a third-party emulation, go for the former. Unfortunately, this will cost you more money.
    2. Unless you are dealing only with small-sized printed pieces -- that is to say, smaller than letter-size -- you really need to consider a large-format (e.g., tabloid size) laser. If your laser maxes out at letter-size (or legal-size) and your printed piece trims to letter-size, you'll need to reduce output to print out things like spreads, bleeds, printer's marks, etc. And if you can't proof at 100 percent (i.e., actual size), that's a huge disadvantage. Yes, you could print things out in sections and tape them together, but that will get old fast. Unfortunately, a tabloid-size PostScript laser will really set you back some bucks... not to mention some serious desktop real estate.
If you are budget-constrained, you should probably not rule out inkjet options.

  • Suppresing Delivery note prints for certain sales order types/item category

    Hi
I need to find a way of suppressing some delivery notes from being printed.
Relating to orders for consignment fill up and consignment issue.
The delivery notes are needed to be printed for 'Consignment fill up order' type, BUT not for Consignment issue - as this is confusing some of the warehouse staff at month end.
All have the same delivery type, the only difference i can see is the item category types are different
Is there a way i can use the sales order type, with customer number as an access sequence for the Output type ?
    -  Or the Item category type ?
Is it possible to add sales order type or Item category into the FIELD CATALOG :- output for deliveries
Your help would be much appreciated
    Cheers
    Tony

    Hi,
I can suggest you something, but do remember that I've never done such kind of thing till date.
    >> Copy LF and create new delivery type
    >> Assign this to your consignment doc. types
    >> Kindly remove the Header output determination procedure assigned to this new delivery type
    >> Then assign output det. procedure at Item level {according to Item category}
    >> Then check if will cater to your requirment or not.
Please keep one thing in mind that I am giving you a proposal by thinking in one logical way and I can't confirm the practicality of the proposal.

  • New printer for old computer

My HP laserjet printer model 4L broke yesterday. Need a new printer for an old computer. It's an HP Brio using windows 2000 (built on NT technology) - whatever that means. A plastic part broke on the printer cover that affected it's printing capability. Thanks for any input.

    Hi Gwen,
There is a way you can tell whether a new printer will be supported on your Windows 2000.
As an example, I have included the information for the HP Deskjet 3520 (not the ePrint version of the printer).
This is an inexpensive printer that one can still buy, and the printer supports the Full Feature Software (full driver set) for Windows 2000.
HP Deskjet 3520 Inkjet Printer Drivers - Windows 2000
    What You Can Do:
Find a printer that you want to buy
Open the Support and Drivers Page:  HP Drivers & Downloads
Enter the name of the printer in the box under "Find by Product"
Look for your Operating System in the drop down menu under "Select your operating system"
    Click "Next" and Scroll down
Look under "Driver - Product Installation Software"
You are looking for the "Full Feature Software" installation package.
The Full Feature Software package provides the full printing capabilities.
If you do Not find the Full Feature Software, then the printer you have selected will NOT be fully supported by your Operating System.  "Basic Driver" is not enough -- you need the Full Feature Software or your printer might not be able to do everything -- for example, it may not be able to "scan".
Go through this exercise until you find a Printer model that is supported for your Operating System AND provides the Full Feature Software.
You might also look under the Manuals section to pick up any details about the printer's operation - whether the printer supports wireless, and under what circumstances it works (or does not).
    Good Luck!
    Click the Kudos Star!
It is a great “Thank You” for the Author's efforts.
    Kind Regards,

  • PO print for fax/email transmission

    Folks,
Have a generic query. How would you print the POs that were transmitted by FAX or EMAIL without adding a new message type?
The users in Prod. system have access to ME23N alone. If the message type was set as print, then no issues as they could go ahead and just reprint it.
However for the POs set as FAX/PRINT, the print icon does not appear.
What is the way out then?
Have tried with SP01, but could not get the PO print.
How is the spool no. found for a given PO. I checked in the processing logs for the messages, it said 'No processing log exists'.

  • Excise invoice Print for multiple invoices

    Hi All ,
i have developed a z smartform and attached to standard tcode J1IP o/p type J1I0 . The o/p is comming fine when i select one excise no after excecuting tcode J1IP But if selected multiple invoices by checking the checkbox and press print preview or print
button each time it is giving print preview/print diaog. i.e i need to execute print for first invoice and again i have to come back and again it will ask print prview/print dialog for second like wise n times for n no of selected documents .
my requirement is like when i execute tcode J1Ip and when i select multiple invoice i should get only one print preview or print dialog for all documents . how to achieve this

    HI friend,
    Its simple.
Put all the invoices in a single loop. I think you will be calling the smartform function module for each and every invoice. Don't do like that. Just collect all the invoices in the final table first and after that display the invoices.
I think you can understand what i am saying.
Please try and let me know if you have any queries i will help you.
    Thanks,
    Sri Hari
