I need help burning a CD

I'm trying to burn my first cd..Well I created a playlist that I wanted for the CD. It's only 11 songs, 47.9 minutes. I clicked 'Burn Disc' at the bottom and I put the blank CD in. The blank CD says it can hold up to 80 minutes, but iTunes says I have too many songs to fit on the CD. Im confused. Help Please Thanks! Oh, and also, how long would it take to burn a CD?

Hi,
Not quite sure what you're after here, so I might need a bit more info.
You have a presentation in Keynote and want to export this in some format that will allow you to display it on a TV screen. Is this right? Do you want to retain all your interactivity or do you just want to show it as a simple 'kiosk' presentation? What will the presentation on CD be played from and how will it connect to the TV?
Probably the easiest solution is to create a DVD of your presentation. To do this export the presentation from Keynote as a Quicktime Movie by going to File>Export and selecting the Quicktime pane. You'll need to make a few choices about how the slides are advanced and the final quality. Convert the exported movie to a DVD in iDVD or better still Toast, if you have it. You wont need menus or any fancy stuff, just set up the movie to play as soon as the disk is inserted.
To optimise the Movie, keep Keynote animations to a minimum and limit slide transitions to simple dissolves. The resulting Movie should be a fair representation of the original Keynote presentation.

  • Desperately needs help burning DVD from iPhoto

I am using iPhoto 6.0.6. I desperately need help burning a DVD of a slide show that I created for my daughter's wedding.
I put several songs together by opening them and then combining them using QuickTime Pro. I imported the audio into iTunes and created a slide show using iPhoto. The slide show is perfect! The slides are finally in sink with the music just as I want them! But I don't know how to burn the slide show as a DVD.
I tried exporting the video from iPhoto to my computer, but at the end of the export, I get this message: please note that the music included in the slideshow can only be played on authorized machines. And when I try to play the video (after the export), most of the music on the video cannot be heard. When I try to authorize my machine, I am told that it's already authorized.
If someone would send detailed instructions on how to proceed, I would greatly appreciate it.
    Greg

Is your problem the DRM audio tracks you purchased from iTunes store?
TIP: For insurance against the iPhoto database corruption that many users have experienced I recommend making a backup copy of the Library6.iPhoto (iPhoto.Library for iPhoto 5 and earlier) database file and keep it current. If problems crop up where iPhoto suddenly can't see any photos or thinks there are no photos in the library, replacing the working Library6.iPhoto file with the backup will often get the library back. By keeping it current I mean backup after each import and/or any serious editing or work on books, slideshows, calendars, cards, etc. That insures that if a problem pops up and you do need to replace the database file, you'll retain all those efforts. It doesn't take long to make the backup and it's good insurance.
I've created an Automator workflow application (requires Tiger or later), iPhoto dB File Backup, that will copy the selected Library6.iPhoto file from your iPhoto Library folder to the Pictures folder, replacing any previous version of it. It's compatible with iPhoto 6 and 7 libraries and Tiger and Leopard. Just put the application in the Dock and click on it whenever you want to backup the dB file. iPhoto does not have to be closed to run the application, just idle. You can download it at Toad's Cellar. Be sure to read the Read Me pdf file.
Note: There's now an Automator backup application for iPhoto 5 that will work with Tiger or Leopard.

  • Need help burning a file of jpg images to a CD

I have a folder on my desktop with 17 jpg images ranging in size from 250 KB to 500 KB that I need to burn onto a CD (I've never burned a CD before).  I inserted a blank CD into the slot on my MacBook Pro, waited for a file to pop up, named the file, then dragged the file to the CD icon in Finder.  I scrolled to "Burn CD" and clicked on that.  Took only a couple of minutes for the computer to tell me it was finished, so I ejected the CD.  When I reinserted the CD, however, nothing happened.  I expected a screen to pop up with the images I thought I had saved.  Am I using the wrong kind of CD?  The one I used is a Maxell CD-RMax with 80 min/700 MB storage.  Thanks for any assistance.

    Hi Elyartist,
Here are the suggested steps for burning the pictures onto a CD:
iPhoto '11: Create your own photo CDs and DVDs
    http://support.apple.com/kb/PH2436
This is the section that is most like what you are already doing (skip to step 6):
To create a CD or DVD to be viewed in Windows or by a photo-processing company:
In iPhoto, select the photos, albums, or video clips you want to burn to a disc.
    Choose File > Export.
In the Export Photos window, click File Export, and then select your options. For best results, choose JPEG, Maximum, and Full Size. For more information, see Export a photo.
When you’re ready, click Export, and export the photos to a folder on your computer.
When the export is finished, quit iPhoto.
Click the Finder icon in the Dock, and then insert a CD-RW disc or a blank CD-R or DVD-R disc into your drive.
Drag the folder that contains your exported photos to the disc’s icon.
When the files have been copied, choose File > Burn Disc, and then click Burn.
The article contains some basic causes for this issue as well.
    Cheers!

    Hi,
Can you say what precisely is happening with the download? By clickingo nt his supplied link http://uk.europe.creative.com/support/downloads/download2.asp?Product=903&dlcentric=765&Product_Na me=Audigy+2+NX&OSName=Windows+XP does this generate an error?
Regarding the quality of the recording I assume you are doing this from a turntable? If so you will require something called a pre-amp to get the signal up to 'line level'. In simple terms the signal from the turntable is to low and needs the pre-amp to get it to a signal compatible for the line input.
You should also check the line input on the audigy card with a different source such as with a stereo, walkman etc or if you CD ROM has a headphone out run this to the line input and check the connection.
    Hope this helps,
    John

  • Need help burning project to DVD

Can anyone help me burn a PRE project to a DVD in .VOB (NTSC) format so it can be read by any DVD player connected to a TV, not a computer.  I know how it is supposed to be done in Premier Elements because I did it with small sample files, but whenever I try with a larger project, PRE always crashes during the encoding process..  First I will give the particulars of my system, then of my project, then of the trouble shooting I already tried, finally my experiences
    System:
Intel Pentium "E2200" dual core processor @ 2.2 GHZ speed
         3 GB RAM
Windows 32bit Vista Home Premium with SP2 installed
1/4 TB hard drive with 100MB free and 0% fragmented
          Intel G31/33 graphics processor
    Projects:
14 MB slide show consting of 5 MB JPEG files with audio or text captions and unedited  MPG4 files of 480x720 pixels imported from Samsung camcorder set at recording quality of 5 MB/sec.
10 MB movie created in instant DVD by dragging above JPEG and MPG4 files from album
Neither have additional narration or music tracks
Both the above about 25 minutes on the timeline
    Troubleshooting already tried:
Burning project to folder instead of to DVD
Exporting files to PC in MPG2 and AVI format
Rendering the file (not all at once, but in separate work areas at a time)
Burned to both -RW and -R DVD's
Deselecting the "Fit contents to available space" quality option in the burn menu and manually selecting a bitrate speed of 3 MB/sec
Repeating the above in selective start of windows with all start programs and non-Microsoft processes disabled
Repeating the above for both Slide show and movie projects
    Results:
The encoding process never completes, but it abends at different stages in different trials--never the same point.  Sometimes it crashes at less than 20% complete; sometimes it makes it to 96% complete, then stops responding.  Sometimes it generates a crash report, and sometimes it just stops responding, so I have  to open task manager to end the program.   Sometimes I get a message that PRE is dangerously low on system memory.  I just close the window and procede, because I am watching physical memory usage in Task Manager while PRE is encoding and it is consistantly about 60%.  CPU usage often peaks at 100%, but not for more than 60 secs at a time.  When the system crashed, it generated an error message in the administrative events log sometimes reading: "The entry <name of project file> in the hash map cannot be updated"; event ID 3013, which Microsoft found no help for.  When it simply stops responding, it leaves no error message in the system log until I close the program.
I don't think I have a system error, because my system sussessfully burned two minute test projects, and don't have a project error, because I could render the timeline.  What is going on here?
B.T.W, some people I talked to about this problem who make their living in photos and electronics suggest I buy a camcorder which records in MPEG2 format, then simply burn the MPEG2 files to DVD without re-encoding, insert the DVD into any player connected to a TV, and play.  I don't think this advice is correct.   Opinions?

I've been making copies of my DVDs (legally) but I don't have a DVD burner on my 17 inch iMac. However I do on my old windows PC. I made the files all 4.7 GB with DVD2oneX but I need a way to burn it in my PC. So what kind of file do I turrn it into to burn in my PC. And how should I get these files to my PC. I cannot directly connect them. My iPod is only four gigs sadly. Any solutions?

Also sorry to double post but maybe I can take my internal DVD burner from PC out and attach it to my Mac?

  • Need help burning a DVD in Encore CS3

I have a lengthy HD project that has been done in CS3 and exported to Encore as per instructions in the tutorial that came with CS3 and I'll be danged if I can figure out how to manipulate the chapter markers and subsequently burn a DVD. Is there anyone out there who can help? Maybe Bill Hunt?
    Thanks
    Dan Hauck

    John...
The originating HD files that I have edited in CS3 are .mpeg files. When I follow the instructions that are given in the tutorial they are converted into .2mv, .2mvxmpses, .wav and xmp files. I'm not using dynamic link as far as I'm aware of.

  • I need help burning an iMovie

Hi. I'm confused. I finished making an iMovie (HD6.0.2). Trying to export to iDVD has gotten me nowhere. iDVD opens and I don't know what to do next. It is making this chugging sound as if it's doing something but I can't tell. Help didn't help. I gave that up and switched over to Toast 7 Titanium. Now my problem is what do I import? When I try to import from the iMovie folder where my movie is I see 7 items. A folder-Cache; 2 icons with my movie title followed by iMovie2Project and iMovieProj; a quicktime movie icon; a folder named Media; and another folder named Shared Movies. When I try importing the icon iMovieProj, Toast rejects it. None of these have the usual star indicating the iMovie file.
This never used to be so confusing. What's up? Any help please. Thanks.
    nÔÔdle--hëad Per-rrr-plexed

ok ...let's take it in reverse order here (sometimes a picture is worth a thousand words):
When I switched to Copy, then Image File, then located my disk image, what happened next is a full screen of the movie. I think it opened in DVD Player.
That's actually a good thing ...go ahead and test the disc image with apple's DVD Player app to make sure it plays exactly as expected. Can't always count on iDVD's preview to do this so proceed to play the image by opening the file from apple's DVD Player. Like this:
How come you say to do it that way? Is there some advantage?
Yes. There is an advantage in creating a disc image first and then lowering the speed in Toast to burn to either Verbatim or Maxell DVD-R at 4 x or slower ....It's much more reliable and less write errors ...meaning it is likely to be accepted in most standalone DVD Players and computers as well.
    Hope this Helps.

Welcome to the forum. Unfortunately, we are all just users of Adobe products here, and there is zero Adobe presence, beyond that red A in the upper left. They furnish us with the forum software (will not get on my soapbox on that one), and the servers that it resides on. No one here can help you, and no one from Adobe will read your post. As for Adobe TS, or a refund, no one can help you.
Now, I would suggest that you take a deep breath, and probably hang up the phone to Adobe TS, unless you really like that music.
Start a new Thread on this forum. This ARTICLE will help you get started. The main reason to start a new Thread is so that your issues do not get confused with those of another user, and it makes it much simpler for us to follow along with YOUR problem and not someone else's. You'll get 100%, undivided attention.
There are likely solutions to your problems. Very few have gone without an answer, or two, or three. This forum of simple users is batting better than anyone in the history of MLB. The biggest handicap that we have is maybe being across the globe from you, and because of that, cannot look over your shoulder. The more details that you furnish us with, the easier it will be to solve your issue(s). It will also speed things up greatly, as we do not have to ask a bunch of questions - we will already have the answers.
As stated elsewhere in the FAQ's, and other articles, most problems sort out this way, and in this order:
    1.) System
    2.) Project
3.) Assets (the stills, AV files, music and SFX)
Because of this, it is very important to give as much detail, as is possible regarding all of these.
Good luck, and look forward to seeing your post to the forum. While we cannot address issues with Adobe, we can most likely help you get PrE up and running fine, so you can get to editing.

  • I need help burning a DVD.

I made a movie using IMovie and IDVD. When I burn it to a disc it doesn't play on and other DVD players or any other computers. How do I burn a DVD so that it will play on other DVD players and other computers? Thank You.

    Hi
The most common origin to this
    • Cheap DVD brand e.g. Memorex, NoName etc. Do not work - I only use Verbatim
    • Type of DVD used - DVD-R play in most even old DVD-players DVD+R don't and especially avoid +/- RW disks.
    • Burn Speed - High speed results in more burn errors = lowering it most often helps - I use x4. In iDVD top menu Apple/iDVD/File/Edit etc. select iDVD and go down to Preferences and here select Advance and set down speed to x4.

  • Need help burning CD

i am spending a lot of money on CDs here, because i don't know how to reuse them, or add files to them. is this possible -- to re-burn a burned CD with new files, or to add files to a previously burned CD? i am using RW CDs.
i bought a couple manuals to help me with my new iMac, but neither book goes into detail about modifying previously burned CDs. thanks.

Once you burn a CD-RW you cannot re-use it until you erase it. That is done using Disk Utility. In order to add files to a CD that's already been burned you must make it a multisession disc. To find out how that's done select Mac Help from the Finder's Help menu and search for "multisession" without quotes. The first article is what you want. The second article has general instructions on how to burn CDs and DVDs.
