I need help: everything scrolls left on mouseover

not just windows, volume controls, video playback, etc.
backing up a minute; I'm helping fix my mother's computer. She says it's been acting weird for a week or so (this is definitely a new problem, it didn't always do this). My Mom's a bit computer illiterate, so she goes to me for problem-solving, but I've never heard of this and neither has google.
what happens:
example 1) you'll be watching a video in VLC. when you move the mouse over the video's window, it will rewind for as long as the mouse is over the window. If you move the mouse over the volume control, it will move the setting to the left (volume down)
example 2) type a long url into the browser's url bar that goes longer than that field is. only the last half of it is shown. move the mouse over that field, and it will move the section you see to the left until it reaches the beginning then won't move any further. If you start typing again, it will move the view to where you are typing, then scroll to the left again.
example 3) quicktime player's video playback seems to be unaffected, but the audio volume setting is affected.
example 4) you'll be looking at a wide web page, resize the window to be smaller than the page, scroll to the right. move the mouse over the page and it will scroll to the left.
example 5) iTunes is the odd one. it scrolls to the right instead. video playback, audio volume, music playback is all affected.
maybe related) We can't select from dropdown menus on websites. you click on a dropdown, it appears then disappears. you hold down on a dropdown menu, it appears then disappears. I was able to select the ones for posting this by selecting the menu then using the arrow keys.
I haven't checked every single application as this seems to be a computer issue.
But there is nothing in the settings about this. and all the phrases I tried in google and on these forums had no relevant results.

All the hardware is what it came with - 500GB hard drive, 2GB memory, etc. The DVD drive hasn't worked in a while (all discs are unrecognizable)

I don't know whether this will help, but your original topic line caught my eye. I use a Kensington trackball and I used to have a problem when Kensington Mouseworks was installed, and it would switch to "Horizontal scrolling". This appears in the menu bar. I don't know that it would explain all the strange behaviour you've described, but since you've listed a Mac mini, I assume you may have some sort of third party mouse, and thought I'd mention it in case it helped. Even if Mouseworks is not appearing in the menu bar, you should be able to check the settings in Preferences. Plugging in a another mouse might fix the problem if it's caused by Mouseworks.
Also, stating the obvious - I assume you've tried unplugging the mouse, and replugging it, rebooting the computer, trying another account to see if it is an account related setting...?

Hi, I need help with scrolling

Hello I am Kevin Jin, I am working a huge project acually not that big, but I need help with five things, i mihgt have more things in my mind but here it is
1. I need help with scrolling like where you have buttons for example or press on a navigation bar tab, then it goes to that specific pace of the page, for a one page website, for example some sites you press on contacts and gose down to the bottom of the page where the contacts place is located, not opening a new link.
2.Second also I need help with navigation bar, where it fallows the scroll as it gose down, like for example when it is html the object is fixed to the top, and when you scroll down it will fallow it it,
3.I need Parallex scrolling where you can have the timeline or animations run while you scroll in the meantime and have animation running all the time, for example the infographic site where the bees are fluying but still have seperate animations while you scroll
4.I am so sorry i have two more to go, i appreciate your help, I would also like to ask if like looping each animations sperately, not looping the whole timeline, can it be possible to loop an animation while you have all the interactivity witht he site like looping seperately all the time, without interfeering with all the other animation

Need Help with Scrolling Problem

I have a JTree displayed in scrollpane. Based on search criterial I select the nodes where the search criteria is found. If the match is located off the screen further down into the tree, the node is highlighted but the scrollpane doesn't automatically scroll down to show it. Any help with this problem is appreciated.

URGENT! Need help with scrolling on a JPanel!

Hello Guys! I guess there has been many postings about this subject in the forum, but the postings I found there.... still couldn't solve my problem...
So, straight to the problem:
I am drawing some primitive graphic on a JPanel. This JPanel is then placed in a JScrollPane. When running the code, the scrollbars are showing and the graphic is painted nicely. But when I try to scroll to see the parts of the graphics not visible in the current scrollbarview, nothing else than some flickering is happening... No movement what so ever...
What on earth must I do to activate the scroll functionality on my JPanel??? Please Help!
And yes, I have tried implementing the 'Scrollable' interface... But it did not make any difference...

The Scrollable interface should be implemented by a JPanel set as the JScrollPane's viewport or scrolling may not function. Although it is said to be only necessary for tables, lists, and trees, without it I have never had success with images. Even the Java Swing Tutorial on scrolling images with JScrollPane uses the Scrollable interface.
I donot know what you are doing wrong here, but I use JScrollPane with a JPanel implementing Scrollable interface and it works very well scrolling images drawn into the JPanel.
You can scroll using other components, such as the JScrollBar or even by using a MouseListener/MouseMotionListener combination, but this is all done behind the scenes with the use of JScrollPane/Scrollable combination.
You could try this approach using an ImageIcon within a JLabel:

Need help with scroll effects for horizontally + vertically scrolling website

Hi,
I recently came across a website that uses both horizontal and vertical scrolling where 1 scroll = full browser length move to the next section (as opposed to several rotations in a continuous motion of the mouse ball like the majority of websites). Please see the example here because I'm probably not explaining this very well : A Chocolate Bar, Restaurant and Shop for Chocolates, Fondue, Gift Boxes, and More | Max Brenner (http://maxbrenner.com).
I'm wondering if this effect is something that can be done in Muse and if so, how to do it. It's something I'm seeing more and more and almost behaves like a slideshow that can be controlled by scrolling.

I am afraid that this is not possible out of the box at this stage, I will recommend that you post this on the ideas section over here, Ideas for features in Adobe Muse
You can, in the mean time, use some CSS to disable the scroll bar, preventing the partial scrolling of the page and disabling the mouse wheel scrolling as well, leaving behind only your navigation to scroll through the page.

I need help with scrolling and keyboard buttons on windows 7

I've been able to install sound, bluetooth, and I'm able to do a right click.
But for some reason, I still *can't scroll* and *the buttons on the keyboard (i.e. the eject button*), still won't work.
There are two trackpad drivers on the snow leopard dvd. One is called multitouch and one just called *track pad*. Which one of those should I install?

Try installing multitouch, and then see, while in windows, if you've successfully installed multitouch and multitouch mouse, you should have those drivers. Also check if you've installed trackpad and trackpad enabler.

The cell content is a webview.
Now when i set scalesPageToFit to NO, only a part of the page is visible.
I am not able to scroll the web page inside a table.
I guess because the touch event would be going to table instead of webview.
What can i do so that i can scroll the webview.

Filmstrip photo gallery scrolling effect, need help...

Heya,
If you visit

and goto the photo gallery you'll notice that the photo gallery
works well except that the filmstrips doesn't scroll left or right.
Now, I built this one based off of a Kirupa tutorial, and when the
photo gallery is in a sepereate .swf it works great. But as soon as
I copy the frames to my site that particular effect, and only that,

New User,need help, charging, using, everythi

I recently bought a Zen V Plus and have no tech savy so need help. I've checked with support but don't get th answers I need so thought someone here could help. Here are my questions.
1. Is there anything else that can be used as a charger besides a Zen product. I have several cell phone chargers both for house and can, can any of these be used? need to save money
2. Can the Zen be used while charging? All I get is the docked message and nothing else?
3. I use my player mainly for audio books and the battery doesn't hold for a whole book so I have to charge but when I do the book goes? back to the first part instead of holding my place. I do I hold my place?
Anybody that can give me simple clear answers please help. Because of my age I have trouble reading and the player allows me to enjoy books but I have trouble understanding how to make it work. Don't laugh but my 3 year old grandson would probably have better luck with getting it to work.

First, no three year old will do better than you can with the player. That said, spend some time reading the tutorials listed under support at the top of this page, and use the search in this forum to find everything you can about the Zen V Plus.
When I shut down my Zen V plus, while reading my current audiobook, I just hit the pause button and then pull down the slide button on the left for "shutting down". Some of my books seem to do better with just a shut down instead of pause first. I have found that the bookmark feature is more trouble than it is worth. I use audiobooks from NetLibrary and Overdri've and a few extra from a forum on audiobooks. It seems that they all work differently when shutting down and holding a place.
Anyway, spend some time trying different methods of bookmarking. The Zen V Plus is fairly forgiving player.

One more thought for recharging your battery. Try Amazon or eBay for a recharger, if you can't afford the Creative charger, but remember that you can fry the player if you use the wrong one and the warranty doesn't cover that damage. The easiest and cheapest way to recharge is to use the computer.

Ok so I updated to iOS 7 on my iPod (5th) it let me update my apps but I cannot download new apps thanks to the terms and conditions. Also my iTunes won't start it just blank, I tried everything I need help

Did you download the new iTunes update that was also released this afternoon? That might be the problem. The new iTunes update came out today as well as the new iOS 7 update and if you haven't downloaded the new iTunes update it may be a compatibility problem so if you didn't, first update to the new iTunes and try again.

Need Help Putting Together a rMBP so I Have Everything I Need...

I am having trouble getting the right kind of help from "Chat Now" on apple.com and calling in to get my questions/needs taken care of so that when I get the rMBP I will be sure I wil have what I need to go right online and teach the online courses. I even went to the local apple store and woked with a couple sames guys there, but they were not clear in a couple situations on what I would need with the different options the rMBP gives. so I am truning to the great apple forum for additional help. this might be too much to ask even for tis forum, but if I can learn a little at a time, maybe I can gradually gain the knowledge I need to have a complete and functioning home office for my personal computing needs and my needs as an online teacher at a university back East. My technical knowledge is not the best, so as far as the rMBP goes, a big problem for me is that I do not have the knowledge to make sure I order everything I need with the changes a new rMBP will bring to my current setup (which is just a basic MBP using a wireless router and a USB cable for the printer that I just connect when I need to print). I realizee my current set up on my desk is not the most advanced, but I would need a pro to come to my office and help me get the best set-up for what I am curently using. It seems that the agents I chat with and/or talk to on the phone are aslo lacking in knowledge to help me put together a rMBP that will be ready to fully use and have with the order all that I need so that I do not have to order additional items in a mad rush to be ready for the courses I am teaching online. I have read several articles about the rMBP so that I cold have some knowledge about what I will need but as I said my techie knowledge is lacking. I am looking at the 15" rMBP with all of the full upgrades that the configure option allows one to get. I am not clear if I do run into trouble with my wi fi and have to use my ethernet cable what I will need to do this. I also have programs that are older that I am guesing I will need to install using a DVD player. I would like to hook up the printer I have or a new Canon printer and use it wirelessly, but for now I will most likely be using it with a USB cable. I am not clear on the thunderbolt technology and if I should get any of these cables for any of the connections. I also would like to get a great speaker system and will need to hook that up, but I am not clear on the best way to do this. I have been wanting an iMac, but I am not sure what is a good slection to get and how to connect it to the rMBP or one of the other 2 older MBPs I currently have.
If somebody could list for me what I would need to have a complete rMBP that will allow me to do these hookups and connections and explain what would be the best way to complete the various connections so that I have all that I will need to get up and running, I would really appreciate it. Because I do not have any USB 3.0 cables or cables for various additional connections, I would need help/suggestions in this area. I realize this is hard to do not seeing my office, but since I will be starting new with the purchase of the new rMBP and hopefully an iMac (and a new Canon printer and new set of great sounding speakers) getting some advice on what I should order for the various connections would be a hugh help. Part of the problem is with the rMBP and not having used one of these in the past. I know some of the differences with this machine like the lack of an internal SuperDrive and the new ports, but I do not know what cables I will need that will utilize the newer technology this machine and an imac will bring to my office.
Any suggestions are greatly appreciated, even if you do not give me specific answers, but an idea, for example, of what I might need to connect the speaker system (knowing the best way the new speaker system shold be connected to the rMBP and/or the iMac. I am not even clear if I do want to use the iMac with the rMBP for teaching with a larger display what I will need to connect the imac to the rMBP. is this done by an HDMI cable and if so is there a specific type or example you could mention that is on apple.com?

There are many differences with the new rMBP. There are ports that I am not sure what I would use them for. Even the ethernet cable I use now to get the internet will not work with the rMBP. I thought there would be some additional help on here. as far as configuring the rMBP there are just a few options but the differences between an older MBP and the new rMBP is great. No need to reply I will turn off email notifications. I gave as much information as I did because in the past I was told to give more information.
