If the people that created the form didn't add fillable form fields, all you can do is print it and fill it out by hand.

  • Need help filling out pdf forms on iPad

Adobe Reader (11.0.1) on my iPad2 (iOS 6.1.3) is not letting me fill out a form (just a bunch of text fields) that was created with Acrobat 8 Pro/LiveCycle. The form can be filled out fine with Reader 11.x on my WinXP desktop though. Any ideas?

No, you'll be just the same.
You need to not use LiveCycle Designer, but make the form in Adobe Acrobat. Everything you know about making forms in LiveCycle Designer will not help you at all.
These are a different kind of form, made differently, and with different features (e.g. they are always static in layout).
Also, you start with an existing PDF (not a form) for all the background and fixed text, then just add fields.
There are other things to do like avoid JavaScript. Start with very simple forms and test features, there doesn't seem to be a comprehensive list.

  • What do I need to fill out a form created in JetForm?

I receive a form that I need to fill out, save and send back.  The problem is the form sent to me is a JetForm.  What software/designer do I need to just fill out these forms?  Are there any free downloads?
    Thank you

Since Adobe acquired Accelio, formerly JetForms, in April of 2002, I am surprised the form has not been revised using Adobe's LiveCycle Designer.
If the form has a file type of PDF then form could be filled out and printed by Adobe Reader. If you need to save the form, the author would have had to apply Extended Form Rights with a more current version of Acrobat.

  • Need to fill out PDF forms

Does anyone have a good app for filling out PDF forms?  I used Acrobat Pro in Windows, but then my employer supplied it for me.  I'm not going to pay $300 to fill out PDF forms.  I tried it in Preview, as people say that works, but I can't get it to work.  The forms I have to fill out that are supplied by my employer won't accept editing in Preview.  They work fine in Acrobat Pro in Windows.  I also tried formulate.pro, but I couldn't save the form back to PDF, only to a propietary format.  Not useful for sharing these forms with colleagues.  Is there a solution to this problem?  Thanks.

I know about that.  Unfortunately, the form can no longer be modified once you do that.  (According to others who have tried it.)  I know it's a pretty nit-picky list of requirements I have, but I work in a very Windows-centric, Mac-hostile workplace (even though a sizeable minority of people here use Macs).  I've been using a Mac since 2004, and it's been a battle to solve one problem after another: web pages that only render "properly" in IE, web applications that only work "properly" in IE, a voice messaging system that is Mac-hostile, and most recently this business with the forms.  My solution has usually been "if it doesn't work in Firefox or Safari, then it doesn't work."  Unfortunately, I don't have that option with these forms.  More and more of what I have to do must be done either online or at least digitally, and yet we are generating more paper than ever!  And no one who is responsible for creating/purchasing the apps to do all these things seems even to know about the existence of any OS other than Windows.  Sorry about the rant, but that is the world at Coastal Carolina University!

  • Need help filling out forms in Adobe Reader 10.

Just upgraded to Adobbe Reader 10. How can I fill out forms?  There is no hand tool. I checked the security of the document. It states that filling out forms is allowed.  Please help. There is no way that the sender of the document expected it to be filled out by hand.  Thanks!!!

That only means that IF it had filable fields, you would be alowed to fill them in. It does not mean that those fields exist. If it's fillable, you would get a notification at the top of the PDF.

  • I need to install Mozella Firefox 2.0 to fill out a form that is not supported with the newer version that is installed on my PC. Do I need to delete the new version before using the older version?

I need to install Mozella Firefox 2.0 to fill out a form that is not supported to input info from the newer version that is installed on my PC. Do I need to delete the newer version before using the older version? If so, how do I delete the new version and install the older version?

If you just need it for one site you can use the portable version of Firefox 2 instead. You can install the portable version on a USB key, or if one is not available choose the custom install and install it somewhere on your hard drive. The portable version will not interfere with your current version of Firefox. You can get the portable version from http://portableapps.com/apps/internet/firefox_portable - the link for Firefox 2.0.0.20 is near the bottom of that page.

  • Help inserting a filled out pdf form into a pdf report.

Why can I not insert a filled out pdf form into my pdf reports?  I am new to Adobe Acrobat X.

See what it says under: File > Properties > Description > PDF Producer
If it's an XFA form, is should say something like "Adobe LiveCycle Designer [version#]"
You can also open the interactive JavaScript console (Ctrl+J) and enter the following line of code:
    xfa
and with the cursor on the line, hit Ctrl+Enter, of the Enter key on the numeric keypad.
If it's an XFA form it will return:
    [object XFAObject]
Otherwise, it will return "xfa is not defined" and other stuff.

  • How to stop someone from filling out pdf form multiple times?

My customers order my service by down loading a .pdf form. They then fill out the form and submit the form to my email. How do I stop a customer from submitting the form multiple times. I would like for the customer to submit the form only once filled out. If I need more info I could follow up to their order manually via email. Thanks for your help!

One of the main reasons why you have a customer posting multiple submits would be because for some reason he/she doesn't know the first one was successful.
Add a property your form to record whether or not a valid submit has already happened. Use script to set that property on submit. Check each time the submit operation is fired to see if the property is set. If it is display an error dialog and stop the submit from occurring.
If someone wants to open multiple copies of your form and fill it out and send it to you, well there's nothing you can do about that.

  • Filling out Web form

    Good evening,
I created  our first web grant form (with writable fields, and fields for attachments).
We will have this form linked to our website (right now we are testing it).
I would like to verify, when people fill the form out over longer period of time (say they might take breaks in between), do they get cut out, or not? (I clicked on our test link, left the form open, and filled out fields randomly over 4 hours period, than submitted and it did not kicked me out.) However, I am the administrator, so it might be little different for me?
My other question is, if we could avoid the following - after people click on the "submit" button on the webform, they actually could go back afterward with the "back" arrow, and might correct some information and re-submit again (which might be confusing for collectiong data). Is there a way, that we could avoid that? Could we create a message  e.g."we are sorry, but you already submitted your application once"? Just wondering.
My last question is, if people need to have adobe reader to be able to fill out the web grant form?
    Thanks you for your help,

Question 1: I would like to verify, when people fill the form out over longer period of time (say they might take breaks in between), do they get cut out, or not?
    - No, as long as they don't close the form in their browser, they should be able to finish filling out the form and submit.
Question 2: Is there a way, that we could avoid that? Could we create a message  e.g."we are sorry, but you already submitted your application once"? Just wondering.
    - Sorry, FormsCentral currently don't have that functionality. You may vote on a feature request at http://forums.adobe.com/community/formscentral?view=idea or add a new idea by clicking on "Submit Feature Request" in the page http://forums.adobe.com/community/formscentral.
Question 3: if people need to have adobe reader to be able to fill out the web grant form?
    - No, users don't need to have adobe reader to fill out web forms.

  • Form Action Mailto email address specified in text box from the user filling out the form??

I am very new to Dreamweaver and this is likely a very basic question, but never the less, I can't find the answer on Google or in the Help. I want the form below to always be e-mailed to [email protected] and also to the e-mail address supplied by the user filling out the form. The user supplied email address will be in the text box id "SalesEmail" listed below. How can I accomplish this? The user filling out the form would be my salesman, so they need the information, as do I.
    Thanks,
    David

If you want to edit a word document then you will need an app on your iPad that supports word so that you can copy them to it via 'open in' e.g. Apple's Pages app or a third-party app such as Documents To Go or QuickOffice HD

  • Filling out a form scanned to PDF

Is this Possible? I would like to be able to fill out this form that I scanned to pdf...while it is still in the computer, then print it out completed so I can mail it off. I just can not seem to figure this out, please help!

This isn't a question about PDF Specifications; this really seems to
    be about software.
If you have Acrobat Standard or Acrobat Professional, the answer is
yes. Please ask in the Acrobat Windows or Acrobat Macintosh forum.
if you have Adobe Reader only the answer is no.... but you also have
some software to scan to PDF, so see if that has a forum.
