I need help getting my purchased music back please

I'm pretty sure i have somehow deleted a lot of music from my itunes and computer accidentally. I am only bothered about getting my purchased music back, most of which now has a grey exclamation mark next to it and says it cannot be located. I have the purchased music on my ipod, which it plays fine on and have tried to put it back on to my itunes by selecting transfer purchases although this only transferred 18 of my purchased songs. Unfortunately my external hard-drive doesn't work anymore and i haven't got the music backed up anywhere else.
Being a student i can't afford to pay for it all again or take a 4 hour round trip to my closest apple store so i am hoping someone online could help me, thank you.

  • How do i get my purchase music back on to my iphone

how do i get my purchased music back on to my iphone after backing up and restoring my iphone?

In the iTunes App there is a tab called Purchased. You'll find your musics there.

  • HOw do I get my purchased music back after having to restore my Ipod touch

I had to restore my Ipod touch because of a corrupted file. How do I get my purchased music back?

The answer is that the iCloud advertising in Danish speaks of restoring apps, books and music and shows this, and in small print / gray print adds that in some countries this is not available. The Danish copy does not say that in Denmark the service is unavailable (suppose the English copy in US spelling showed the service, but did not say that the service was unavailable in the US).

After another couple of hours of hunting around, a Knowledge Base article in Danish turns up which begins by saying that purchases from the App Store, the iBookstore and the iTunes Store are restorable, but in small print / gray print advises which countries the service in fact covers. Denmark is not covered.

Naturally, the Danish copy should in both the advertising and in the additional information start by clarifying that music is not restorable for Danish customers. Instead, the Danish copy extolls a service that does not cover the iTunes Store in Denmark. The term for this in Danish is 'vildledende markedsføring' which is to say that the marketing is misleading.

  • Getting already purchased music back

I recently just got my laptop wiped from everything I had on it before. I wanted to get the previously purchased music back on it, I went to my iTunes account & was only able to get 3 songs back. Some of the music goes all the way back to '06. Has anyone dealt with this problem before & what can I do to get back my music??
    ~thanks~

This has happened to me!!! And it is so scary and frustrating to think you may have lost your entire music library. BUT, I was delighted by my experience in working with iTunes support on this.
    I simply emailed: [email protected]
I mentioned my situation that I had lost all of my purchases and hoped to recover at least some of them. A customer support member responded promptly with instructions and in my case there were so many songs lost (dating back to 2005!) that I simply gave him my account name and info and the next day EVERY SINGLE SONG I HAVE EVER PURCHASED was queued up to download as soon as I turned my iTunes on. Needless to say, I was speechless with their quality customer support and how personalized it was. No "automated" responses but direct responses-from a human!- to my questions and concerns.
I would suggest emailing iTunes support at the email above to initiate the process. It was an amazing convenience for me.
    Cheers.

  • Had to buy new computer can i get my purchased music back?

My first laptop broke and it is the motherboard so i bought a new one and i cant get the itunes store to put my purchased music into my music on itunes.

It is your responsibility to keep up with your purchases.
Do you not back up your info/music/pics?
    You should always do this.
From the terms of sale of Itunes Store:
"PRODUCTS CAN ONLY BE DOWNLOADED ONCE; AFTER BEING DOWNLOADED, THEY CANNOT BE REPLACED IF LOST FOR ANY REASON. YOU SHALL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR BACKING UP YOUR OWN SYSTEM"

  • HT1711 can i get my purchased music back if my iphone broke before i backed it up on itunes?

Hi... As long as they are still available in the store then you can re-download apps for free, and music can also be re-downloaded in a number of countries (plus tv shows in some countries, and films in fewer) : re-downloading. If you aren't in a country where music can be re-downloaded then you can try contacting iTunes support and see if they will grant you a re-download : http://www.apple.com/support/itunes/contact/ - click on Contact iTunes Store Support on the right-hand side of the page

  • Need help getting I phone music onto new Mac computer

Just got a new Mac pro. I'm having trouble trying to get my Ipod music from my I-phone to the Mac. I've tried everything I know. I must be just missing something. Every time I try to sync, it tells me it will erase everything on the phone when it puts all the mac files to the phone, and there are not any files on the mac yet. Scared to continue afraid it will erase all my music. any help appreciated.

Use Migration Assistant or something to duplicate (more or less) your old computer on the new Mac pro. I believe you just move the iTunes Library folder into the same place on the new machine, but google should help. Then re-sync the phone.
If your old computer is inaccessible, PhoneView or TouchCopy may help out.

  • How do I get my purchased music back after turning off iTunes Match without having to go back through iTunes and individually download each album?

I absolutely hate iTunes Match. It is difficult to work with when it comes to music not purchased through iTunes. So I want to turn it off. How do I do and still have my purchased music through iTunes without having to go through each album/song that I've ever purchased and redownload? That would take FOREVER.

If iTunes Match is turned off, go to preferences > store>Tick box show iCloud purchases. Once done all purchased music will appear. Go to song list view, select all tracks, ctrl+click and select download from pop up.
Alternatively, go into iTunes Store > Quicklinks purchased and select not on this computer. Select download all.

  • Lost i-Tunes and need to get all my music back onto it

Hi everybody, I really need some help! Last week my computer crashed and I lost every files I have had, so basically I have bought a new computer with nothing on it. The last two days I have been installing new files and other things. Now the thing is all my music is still on my I-pod (Ipod nano 2nd gen), how do I put all my music from my i-pod back onto a new i-tunes without losing the music?
Your help will be greatly appreciated!
    Blake

For iTunes version 7 or later, then you can transfer purchased iTunes store music from the iPod to an authorized computer by using the "file/transfer purchases from iPod" menu. Note that the maximum of 5 authorized computers applies here.
Find out how to do that here.
How to copy iTunes purchases from an iPod or iPhone to a computer.
For all other non purchased content (your own CDs etc) try this method which works on some Windows PCs.
Enable your iPod for disk use.
    See: iPod Disk Use.
Open iTunes and select edit/preferences/advanced/general. Put a check mark in the box marked "copy files to iTunes music folder when adding to library" and also "keep iTunes music folder organized", then click 'ok'.
Connect the iPod whilst holding down the shift/ctrl keys to prevent any auto sync, and if you see the dialogue window asking if you want to sync to this itunes library, click 'no'.
Then go to file/add folder, open 'my computer', select your iPod and click 'ok'.
The music files should transfer to your iTunes.
If this doesn't work (and it may not because officially it's not supposed to), check out the instructions/suggestions here.
Music from iPod to computer (using option 2). This a manual method using "hidden folders" and although it works, it is a little more involved than other methods.
Much easier ways are to use one of the many 3rd party programs that copy music from the iPod to the computer.
One of the most recommended is Yamipod. This is a free program that transfers music from iPod back to the computer. However, it does not transfer playcounts/ratings etc.
Other free programs are Pod Player, SharePod and Floola.
If you want to recover just the structure of playlists from the iPod (and not the actual song files themselves), there's iRepo for Windows. which I understand has this feature along with all the standard features for these programs.
iPodRip also has the feature enabling you to reconstruct playlists.
There is also CopyTrans. This does preserve ratings/playcounts etc if those are important to you but this program is not free. It also supports video transfer.

  • GET my PURCHASED music back to use

My computer crashed and I re-installed I-tunes in my new computer. When I click on purchased items there are non there. Before there were pages of my purchases. DO you know how I can get everything I purchased back into my purchased folder???????????Your help is very much appreciated.

If you didn't make a back-up of your purchases to restore from (as you are advised to do) then I'm sorry to say that the policy on lost purchases is that you have to pay to download them again:
"Once a Product is purchased and you receive the Product, it is your responsibility not to lose, destroy, or damage the Product, and Apple shall be without liability to you in the event of any loss, destruction, or damage." iTunes Store: Purchased content can be downloaded only once
You could try contacting the iTunes Music Store Customer Service and you might be able to persuade them to sanction a second free download. There have been occasional reports in the iTunes forum of this happening, however just be aware that they are not under any obligation to do so. If you click on this link you'll be able to email your query: iTMS Customer Service
If you have an iPod that still has the purchases on it the transfer of purchased content from the iPod to authorised computers was introduced with iTunes 7. You'll find details in this article: Copying iTunes Store purchases from your iPod or iPhone to a computer

I recently just backed up my iphone on my laptop, however i was moving music over from my lap top onto my phone and it didnt like it. so i was prompted to restore my phone. which i did.
however now i have lost all  the music i brought on my iphone which im not happy about.
how do i get it back??? or find it
    please

No iTunes content on your iPhone is included with the iPhone's backup, but if you have Sync Music selected under the Music tab for your iPhone sync preferences with iTunes, any music purchased direct with your iPhone will be copied to your iTunes library automatically the first time you sync your iPhone with iTunes after doing so.

  • After reverting back to Garageband 6.0, I find that I still lack all the Garageband Effects (Distortion, Vocal Transformer, etc.). The Garageband 10 "AU" plug ins are there instead. I need help getting the old effects back.

For background: I lost my v6 because I had to reformat my whole hard drive. When I reformatted I lost GB and everything else I had. I downloaded GB (unaware of the awfulness that is v10) from the App Store. The fact that v10 does not have all my favorite and most used effects from v6, I uninstalled v10 and redownloaded v6 from my App Store Purchases. I load up v6 only to find that all the default effects are there for each instrument, but when I go to add an effect (i.e. Distortion, Vocal Transformer, Flanger, etc.), instead of the list of classic effects, there's the list of awful AU effects from v10. What gives?!

For me, the "Edit" panel in GB6.0.5 looks like this:
Are you saying, that the upper part with "GarageBand Effects" is missing?
Then check, what is installed in your System Library in the folder
    /Library/Application Support/GarageBand/Instrument Library/
(the topmost "Library" folder on your Hard Drive.
You may need to restore the old GarageBand effects and Track settings files from your backup:
    i.e look into the folder /Library/Application Support/GarageBand/Instrument Library/Plug-In Settings/
and restore the settings for Chorus, Flanger, Vocal Transformer, Tremolo, whatever effects you are missing.
And also look for missing files in "Track Settings" folder and "Sampler" folder.
What kind of backup do you have? If you have a Time MAchine backup, go back in time to the time before you upgraded to GB 10.
