I just got an Ipod touch and it wont show up on my Itunes so i uninstalled it and tryed installing itunes 10 from the apple home page it downloads and then it tells me i need Mac OS X 10.5.11 to download were can i find this ? Please help

System requirements To upgrade to Snow Leopard or install Snow Leopard for the first time, you must have a Mac with:
An Intel processor
An internal or external DVD drive, or DVD or CD Sharinĝ
At least 1 GB of RAM (additional RAM is recommended)
A built-in display or a display connected to an Apple-supplied video card supported by your computer

Have you tried to install other programmes on the same PC? If they have worked, your installer should be in working order, so redownload iTunes and try again

How do I fix this or get around it. I'm not familar enough to understand what the error is that the message is describing.

These ones are typically caused by underlying problems on the PC that also often cause Windows Updates to fail to install. If we can fix the Windows Update trouble, we can usually get the iTunes trouble cleaned up en passant.
Go into your Windows update and try to check for new updates. If updates install, stock up on the ones you're behind on, restarting the PC if requested to do so. After the restart, try installing iTunes again. Does it go through this time for you?
If windows updates fail to install, go into your Update History and doubleclick the failures. What alphanumeric codes appear for you? Are they also 800736FD, or some other number? (If they're another number, what number are you getting?)

I keep tryin to download/install itunes update. When it gets to install, computer says the program i am trying to use to install this does not contain an itune installation. Pick another program that does!!! Im not computer savvey. I dont know what to do at this point

Download the iTunes installer from:

Save it on your PC before attempting to install it.
Put the full text of any error message in your next post including error numbers.
If you prefer you can paste an image of the error into you post.
Press alt prtscrn while the focus is in the error message, then use the little camera at the top of the forum editor to insert the image. (I hope alt prtscrn works in XP, I can't test it myself).

when you download the upgrade it will ask you where you want to put it. Select desktop which will cause the itunes setup icon to appear on your desktop. Double click it and it should install into your original itunes folders

Desperate....need help installing iTunes

I have been trying for days to get iTunes installed on my computer and I am about to give up! Please help me!!
I was Windows XP, Norton Anti Virus, and XoftSpy. Currently, I can see the iTunes and Quick Time on my desktop. QuickTime will open. When I click iTunes, it shows an hour glass for 5 seconds and that's it.
I have tried disabling everything and it hasn't worked.I have installed for the CD and the internet, that does work either. I have checked for window updates. I installed all of the, and that didn't work. I just installed EWIDO and it running now. I have wen to run:misconfig..that didn't work.
I know that this doesn't have to be this complicated!!!!! Please help me!

I posted on this thread earlier and my sister-in-law got my through it. Maybe this will work for Jul.
The problem was with Norton in my case.
This is what I did:
Opened Norton Internet Security
Clicked on Personal Firewall
Clicked on Configure
Clicked on Programs tab
Changed iTunes to Permit All (it was on Automatic)
Added iTuneshelper.exe with Permit All
Changed QuickTime to Permit All (also was on Automatic)Added QTInfo.exe with Permit All
Added QTTask.exe with Permit All
I'm not sure if you must do all of those steps, but it worked perfectly for me after doing them!

It sounds like you have installed the 64 bit version of iTunes, but you continue to the get an error message that suggests to download the 64 bit version any time you connect your iPhone 5. I understand that you have already uninstalled and reinstalled iTunes, but sometimes you may need to uninstall additional components related to iTunes to completely remove it from your system.
I recommend following the steps in this article to completely uninstall iTunes:
Removing and reinstalling iTunes, QuickTime, and other software components for Windows Vista or Windows 7

Once you have completely uninstalled iTunes, you can download the 65 bit version of iTunes for Windows here:

I have both the silver discs specific to my iMac and Mac Pro models that you receive with your Mac, and a general copy of Snow Leopard that you buy from the store.
I used the silver disc that is specific for my iMac to install the drivers, and Boot Camp 3.0 on my iMac. But with the Mac Pro, the software is older and only has Boot Camp 2.0, thus I'm wondering if I can simply use the software on the general copy of Snow Leopard I own, or does the silver disc contain specific drivers for my Mac Pro that I need?
I'm under perhaps the wrong impression that the silver discs that you get with your Mac purchase contain drivers for your specific Mac model which you can't get from the general Snow Leopard disc.

Your computer comes with Win 8 pre-installed but one of the steps to install/run Windows 8.1 is having updated drivers for Windows 8.1
Please, go to Control Panel -> System (or Start -> type winver and open) and verify what is your current version - if it is Windows 8 or 8.1
Windows 8 is version 6.2.x
Windows 8.1 is version 6.3.x
If Windows 8 in place, then , please read this article and enroll in the steps:
