I need help installing memory in my 2008 imac. There are no black tabs on the earlier models.

I watched the you tube videos, but they were all on newer imacs. Mine doesn't have black tabs to pull on that I can find.

Did you look in your computer's user manual for the instructions? If you don't have one then you can download a PDF version for your specific model at support.apple.com/manuals/. You may also find a tutorial at OWC.

Hi everyone so I just got a new mac and I gotta say not very tech smart when it comes to apple products but Ive been trying to install windows 7 using bootcamp now just making it clear that I am using a ledgitimate legal windows cd and not a copy. I dowloaded the necessary updates to a cd i took every step that i needed that i found and when it came to installing the software on my mac after i insert the disc it will start reading and make a sound like its reading the disc but then would stop after a few seconds and the i get a message to insert a windows disc and wait till its recognized to install. Ive done that waited till it was recognized and clicked install and same thing happens ive tried 3 different microsoft corp windows programs and its the same thing with all of them. I did put different cds music and movies and it read them quick and played them without a problem seems like its only the windows discs. Please help any solutions references and suggestions would be greatly appreciated thanks

i thought about the same thing so i had restored my mac to factory settings did all the updates and tried again however when i dowloaded the software for windows and put it in a cd for me it never said partition y always said install so i would click it but as my comment above it would read the disc for a few seconds and stop all together and not install the software.

I need some advise, recently upgraded my itunes to iTunes 10 and at the same time I added new photos to my laptop( running on windows vista) pictures file.
I wanted to sync the photos from my laptop to my ipad, but in the end, on my itunes, it appear all photos are synced but on my ipad there are no photos at all.
Tried reinstalling iTunes, deleted the ipod photo cache and reset my ipad... and it still doesn't work!!
Any one can help??

Did you restore to factory settings?new iPod via iTunes on this computer?
What happens when you try to sync?
Do the songs play in iTunes?
Do you have the right boxes checked to sync?

I need help installing an OS on my imac G5

Hello.
I am trying to install an operating system on my imac g5. I do not have any backup or recovery discs. I tried installing the Max OS X Tiger CD (Version 10.4 2Z691-5341-A) but it says I need an earlier version. I tried the 2 gray discs that came with it - Max OS X Install Disc 1 and 2 (2Z691-5393-A) and it will start to install it and then says that it cannot be installed on this computer. I spoke to an apple rep that said I needed panther and I have those discs (3 blacks discs with huge X on them - 10.3 2Z691-4585-A) but it will start to load with the apple sign and then it goes to the prohibitory sign. So I am not sure what to do next. Your help is much appreciated!! Thanks.
I know that my Imac is the PowerPC G5 (3.0) with a 17" screen. Please let me know if you need any more infor or specs.

Are you prepared to lose all your data? Have you a backup? If you have a backup, then boot from your install disc and reformat, that should allow you to install Tiger.
Or you can use Target Disk Mode from another computer and reformat that way.

Your computer comes with Win 8 pre-installed but one of the steps to install/run Windows 8.1 is having updated drivers for Windows 8.1
Please, go to Control Panel -> System (or Start -> type winver and open) and verify what is your current version - if it is Windows 8 or 8.1
Windows 8 is version 6.2.x
Windows 8.1 is version 6.3.x
If Windows 8 in place, then , please read this article and enroll in the steps:

Need help Installing OID Repository on existing database server using RepCA

I have an oracle database server running 10g (10.2.0.4) and I want to install metadata repository on it. I downloaded the Application Server Metadata Repository Creation Assistant 10.1.2.0.1 (standard edition).
I find that there are no batch files in the download, just setup.exe. When I run that I am asked for an ORA_HOME - when I provide the home where the database is installed I get the message that the home already has the database and the software cannot be installed on it.
How do I add the repository to an existing instance of oracle database server? Also, is the version I downloaded the right version #

first let me ask, are you talking about Netweaver04s (WAS 7.00), in this case my answer can give you some hints.
Note 883948 gives information of the installation of an additional usage tye (like BI JAVA)
You have more than one possibility to install the usage type BI JAVA. The most common installation types are:
1. BI installation and a separate BI JAVA installation with 2 <SID>
2. BI JAVA Addin Installation in an existing NW04s
I recommend to use option 1:
In case you install a separate BI-JAVA instance, you need a separate <SID> for your J2EE environment. In this case it is not possible to use the same <SID>. This installation can be done on the same or a separate server. Furthermore, you can use a separate database or install the J2EE instance in the same database (--> MCOD). I recommend to use a separate database. Note: In this installation option, Sapinst normally installs a separate user store. With the usage type BI JAVA it makes (in most cases) sense, to use the user store of the BI system, where it belongs to. If you want to do so, "Revise" the user store option before you start the installation and and choose the production client of the BI system.
If you like to use an Addin Installation, another <SID> is not possible. I would only recommend this kind of installation in test environments.
It doesn't matter, which kind you choose, after installation, you have to do the steps for "Setting up bex Web", see Note 917950. This is sometimes a little bit tricky, with Note 937697 there is a Support Tool, which can help.

Need help installing Snow Leopard on a 2009 iMac. Hard drive is only choice for location and message says hard drive can't be used because it is used for Time Machine backups. Ultimate goal is to upgrade to OS 10.6.8.

Check to see if you have a file called backup.backupdb
If you do that means at some time in the past Time Machine was configure to backup to that drive
If that is not where you want your backup to to go, and it should not be stored there any way, then delete it and the install should work then.

You need to purchase the upgrade disk (it is a DVD). Then just put it in and run the installer. When it was first released it was $29 USD, do not know if the price has changed or not.
The usual precautions about backing up your data apply. In fact I would recommend either making a Disk Image of your current boot drive or using something like Carbon Copy Cloner to copy it to an external drive. I upgraded 5 machines from Leopard to Snow Leopard without any issues, but better to be safe than sorry.

Need help Installing Flash player 10.3 for firefox. It stops at 50%

So I have Windows Vista Basic Home, I tried updating my Flash version in firefox because it was out of date, but everytime it start downloading it , then I get the a message that says "Error " Appliation in use." I uninstalled it and followed all the suggestions on the websites nothing is working. I even uninstall google chrome thinking it was the problem but I'm still having that problem so I really don't know what to do because now the only place Flash player is installed seems to be Google chrome that I had to redoawload, but everywhere else tells me that I need to install it.
