I need help moving data from my iPod to my computer.
Is there a way I can take all the music and movies and pictures from my ipod and transfer them onto my computer. Mainly I just want my pictures back I never backed them up on my laptop and that got destroyed while my husband was deployed in iraq a few years back. Im not sure how to work everything I always gave my ipod to him to have him upload everything on it. I just bought a Macbook and I am still learning how it works. Is it even possible to take stuff from my ipod and save it to my computer now?
First of all, when connecting your iPod to your computer, be sure to click "NO" if you recieve a message like this: "This iPod is linked to another computer. Would you like to replace the content?"

There are a few different methods with transferring iPod songs to your computer.
These include:
--- Manually transfer your iPod songs to iTunes. See MacMuse's posting here: iPod songs to computer (MacMuse post)
--- Add your iPod's folder into the iTunes library (via iTunes). See Jeff Bryan's post here: Using iTunes settings to transfer iPod songs to iTunes
--- Use a third-party program to get the transferring done. For a Windows computer, CopyPod should work good. Also, you can try out YamiPod.

Hi, so I'm having a lot of trouble. My friend just gave me his old Ipod because he just got a new one. And it has a lot of music on it that I want. But I don't know how to take the music that's already on the ipod and put it onto my itunes. Because my itunes keeps saying the Ipod is synced to another library and that I need to sync it to my library. But to sync the ipod to my library all the songs that I don't have that are on the ipod I loose and all I end up with are the same songs I already had. So I hope you guys understand my question. I just wanna know how to move the songs from the ipod to my computer without loosing any music.
There are probably programs you could download to transfer music on windows, but the old way works fine. First you will need to change your folder view options to show all hidden files. Then plug in the ipod and ignore itunes (dont quit it or the ipod will dismount) open the ipod drive and go into the ipod control file, then into the library file. There will be a bunch of files all starting with F. Inside of those are the songs, they will all be labeled some random 4 letter title. Once you drag them into itunes they will regain all the correct titling and info. This will probably take a while, and its really only for situations where your computer crashes and you want ALL you music back. You really can't pick and choose the songs you want from it, since everything is labeled gibberish, and they are in no order whatsoever in the F folders.
Good luck. You could also just look for a free program somewhere to transfer the music. My method is the old way.

Need Help Moving music stored on IPod to new computer.......
I Have a 60Gb VIdeo Pod, that I had linked to my old Powerbook G4, but the computer was taken and I bought a new Mac Mini, I want to know How can I take the Music from my IPod and link it to the new computer without overwriting the files on my IPod, It took me a three days to build my library from old CD's and I don't want to have to go through that again.
Note that I am assuming you're properly licensed to be able to run the app on your new computer. I do not propose doing anything illegal.
With the ollld versions of Photoshop, like the one you have, you can try going through a process like this:
1. Copy the entire c:\Program Files\Adobe\Photoshop 7.0 folder to the new computer.
2. Try to run Photoshop on the new computer.
3. Note any "missing DLL" message.
4. Locate the DLL on the old computer (e.g., in C:\Windows\System32 or wherever), and copy it to the same place on the new computer.
5. Repeat steps 2 through 4 until no more "missing DLL" messages present themselves.
There may be other types of messages you'll see. They're usually descriptive enough to be able to determine what it's looking for that it does not have. If you get one you're unsure of how to handle, post it here.

In my household, we have iTunes on three different computers. My mother downloaded music on my brother's computer, and it's on his library. We want to burn a cd with the purchased album, but his computer does not have a cd burner, but the other two do. Is there a way to move music from one computer to another, or possibly moving music from an iPod to a computer's library?
Music is synced to iphone from itunes.
Plug in iphone and select whatever you like to sync from itunes to iphone.

I need to put photos from my iPod to my computer
My daughter's iPod touch has this very large block of "other" taking up more than 2gb of space of her device. I've exhausted all options and now we can't seem to get it to sync to wifi properly anymore. I want to do a complete reset on her iPod. Restore completely to factory settings. Erase it all. HOWEVER, we have some very special pictures on it of family members that are no longer with us, and I need to get them OFF the iPod before I can just delete everything. I can't figure out how. I've synced it. I've tried to search for it. I just cannot find the pictures anywhere on my computer. And I cannot figure out how to even view them. I even ran a back up from the iPod to my computer and I can't even find the file that happens to. And my cloud doesn't show the pictures either.

HELP! Firmware update failed, need to extract data from unreadable iPod
Please HELP! I have important data on my iPod that I need to preserve. Here's what I did:
* downloaded newest iPod software and used the iPod Updater. It assured me the the "Update" process does not touch songs/data on my iPod
* clicked the Update button. The update failed, citing error writting data to disk.
* now my iPod will not boot up (folder icon), on top of that it will not mount even in Disk Mode (claims it's unformatted).
* iPod Updater now offers only the Restore option
I absolutelly NEED to get the data of my iPod if I am to restore it. The data should still be on the disk (even if the firmware is damadged), it's just a matter of gaining access to it.
Any chances?

Sounds like a problem I had with a camera card - and I lost the pictures, and I have yet to restore the camera card - it's still dead, won't even format.

Need help moving music from iPod nano to new computer
I had a computer that had all of my music on it, it was a combination of music I purchased from iTunes, purchased from other places, and that had been transferred from my CDs. That computer died, and the music was lost. My CDs are in storage and I can't put my hands on them easily. All of that music was on my iPod Nano, but when I plug it in it only gives me the option to erase and sync, and I don't want to lose what's on my iPod but I would like to add new music that I've added to iTunes on my new computer to the iPod. Is this even possible?
it 's possible you just have to change your sync option from automatic to manual
the way to do this is the do the following
-open iTunes while ipod is connected
-if you get the message to erase and sync just click cancel
-on the left hand side of the iTunes window click on your device in the devices section
-in the ipod summary page go to the bottom of the page and choose "manually manage music"
-click apply and now any new music you want to sync you just drag the music from the library section and drop it onto the ipod in the devices section in iTunes

I need help restoring data from my time machine.
1) On the time machine, where do I find the TRASH file that is located on the dock in my desktop? I'd like to restore that to a prior date but can't find it.
2) I DID A VERY BAD THING & need help to get back to where I was before. I wanted to delete files that were taking up lots of space. My OTHER section was using 160G. I downloaded OmniDiskSweep and found that 120G was being used by my virtual machine (I run Quicken in Windows, through VMware). I started to delete files that were called Snapshots assuming these were the snapshots that the program regularly takes of my files. Apparently they were not. I also deleted the program Windows XP Professional because that was never used. When I try to open VM or quicken program, it says it is missing a particular snapshot, i.e. Snapshot 11104. I deleted about 20 of these. I left all the other files that said Windows XP Home Edition. But now it shows that I only have the Professional Edition, even though that's what I deleted. I'm trying to restore from Time Machine and it looks like the information is not there - I've tried various different backups and nothing seems to have the information I need. The earliest back up I have is from 5/7 when I started time machine on a new external 1TB HD. Would that have the information I need since it's the very first back up? Please Help.I am assuming it's real data because it's taking up storage on my HD. It falls in the category "other" and the total of this section is 160G. Here is a snapshot of the virtual machine.
I also took a shot of the VM snapshots & it tells how much space is being taken up by the snapshots.
I've now changed the number of snapshots taken down to 12 (didn't know I had this option) & I can delete alot of the 21 snapshots that have already been saved. I have no idea how much of the HD was set aside for the VM because someone else installed it for me 5 years ago. I've had enough problems with it over the years that I've wanted to switch to Quicken for Mac or find another financial program to use. I've upgraded the VM 2x over the years, but didn't want to spend $100 for Version 5. I understand the concept of a VM but that's about all.
I did do the disk cleanup in Windows on the C drive. I deleted 700 MB of temporary files and then compressed 4G of data down to 2G. While the cleanup was progressing it said that the C drive was 30.99G and 78% of it was free. That just doesn't make sense to me. It recommended a defrag, so I did that also.
I'm pretty sure it's real data because I recently had to switch from a 320G external HD for TM, to a 1T HD. One TM backup was over 300G which I found to be excessive because I basically use my computer for mail, some word processing, and my financial data.

Need help - select data from NCLOB column problem
Hi,
Im having problem retrieving data from NCLOB columns via ODBC. After SQLExecdirect on my SELECT statement call to SQLFetch gives me following error:
ORA-24806 LOB form mismatch
I tried following two ways of data retrieval:

SQLBindCol(hstmt,3,SQL_C_TCHAR,chBuffer,sizeof(chBuffer),&iDataLen);

Both times call to SQLFetch gives me ORA-24806 LOB form mismatch error.
INSERT and UPDATE for this table works just fine.
If I change NCLOB type to CLOB works just fine, but I will be storing Unicode data, so using CLOB cant be a solution
Any ideas appreciated.

++nRecNum;Yes, the 9.2.0.2 driver can be downloaded from OTN. I don't believe it will solve your particular problem, but it will help in general. If you don't grab the latest version, you'll probably have to chack the "Force SQL_WCHAR Support" option in the DSN configuration.

"The C data type, SQL_C_WCHAR, was added to the ODBC interface to allow applications to specify that an input parameter is encoded as Unicode or to request column data returned as Unicode. The macro SQL_C_TCHAR is useful for applications that need to be built as both Unicode and ANSI. The SQL_C_TCHAR macro compiles as SQL_C_WCHAR for Unicode applications and as SQL_C_CHAR for ANSI applications."
My first thought would be that your application is not being compiled as Unicode. If you substitute SQL_C_WCHAR for SQL_C_TCHAR when you're dealing with NCLOB columns, I suspect you'll have better luck.

These values are potentially returned from calls to SQLDescribeCol, SQLColAttribute, SQLColumns, and SQLProcedureColumns. In Oracle release 8.1.7.0.0 or 9.0.1.0.0, the Oracle database does not support encoding columns as Unicode. These values would not be returned from the ODBC Drivers for Oracle release 8.1.7.0.0 or for Oracle 9.0.1.0.0 databases.
In Oracle release 9.2.0.0.0, Unicode encoding was supported for SQL column types NCHAR, NVARCHAR2, and NCLOB. In addition, Unicode encoding was also supported for SQL column types CHAR and VARCHAR2 if the character semantics were specified in the column definition.
Starting with release 9.2.0.2.0, the ODBC Driver supports these SQL column types and maps NCHAR to the SQL data type SQL_WCHAR, NVARCHAR2 is mapped to SQL_WVARCHAR, and NCLOB is mapped to SQL_WLONGVARCHAR. Ok so I purchased keynote for my iPod it's great and all but I cannot seem to project it on my wall. I have a projector and I video cord but no picture lol
I read a lot about "Presenters notes" and "presenters display" but dont find where to play from there. Also, in the help page it mentions 2 places to press "play" but the opputunity is not there.. please help..First of all, when connecting your iPod to your computer, be sure to click "NO" if you recieve a message like this: "This iPod is linked to another computer. Would you like to replace the content?"

Moving songs from my ipod to my computer (itunes)
Help!
I am trying to get all my songs from my ipod to my itunes. The songs currently on my ipod are from different sources from my old computer that got a virus and died. Now, (with the exception of a few new songs on my new computer) I cannot get all my songs into itunes and they will only show up when I have my ipod plugged in. When I simply try to drag the songs from my ipod to my itunes library, it will not let me.
What do I do??????You can't sync or drag your non iTMS music back directly from an iPod to iTunes. The transfer of non iTMS content is designed by default to be one way from iTunes to iPod, the transfer of purchased content has recently been introduced with iTunes 7. However there is a manual method of accessing the iPod's hard drive and copying songs back to iTunes on Windows posted in this thread: MacMuse - iPod to iTunes
If you prefer something more automated then there are a number of third party utilities that you can use to retrieve the music files and playlists from your iPod, this is just a selection. Have a look at the web pages and documentation for these, they are generally quite straightforward.
