I need help reviving a dead G3 Pismo

I am trying to help a friend revive a Powerbook G3 Pismo. I have read many of the threads here, but thought it would be helpful to start a fresh one to address my particular problem.
Here's the deal: When you press the power button, absolutely nothing happens. No sounds, no lights, no nothing. My first throught was maybe that the power adapter was dead -- so I bought one on eBay -- same result, so I think we can rule that out.
I pulled out the processor board and then reseated that along with the RAM. No difference. So I am wondering what to do next? First question: Could a dead battery cause this? I have no idea of the condition of the battery -- should it be able to power up even with NO battery installed?
If someone can give me a list of things to try, and in what order, it would really be a great help.

1. Remove the main battery, optical drive, and any peripherals.
2. With just the power adapter connected, press the reset button on the back panel to reset the power manager, wait a few seconds, then see if it will start.
3. Lift off the keyboard but leave it connected...just lay it face down on the palm rest. You will see the brown, circular backup batteries in a black case next to the HD. There is a red/white/black pigtail running to the logic board; carefully pull up on the white connector to disconnect it (needlenose pliers work well)...this allows the power manager to fully clear. Also, a malfunctioning battery can prevent startup. Since your 'book does power up, this should not be the issue but leave it disconnected for the troubleshooting. Enlarge the top picture:

Now connect the power adapter and try starting.
4. If no success, disconnect power adapter, remove the aluminum heat sink (be SURE to use the correct size tools) and remove the top memory module if present. Now press down very hard on the right side of the microprocessor card next to the HD and also next to the palm rest...this is where the multipin connector lies on the underside...a poorly seated microprocessor card can cause your symptoms. Now connect the power adapter and try starting.
5. If still no start, lift out the microprocessor card (do NOT remove the heat tube from the microprocessor...lift out the whole unit) flip it over and remove the lower slot memory module. Now reseat the microprocessor card, connect the power adapter and try starting. I am not sure if it will throw up a firmware dialog stating no good memory modules are present but give it a try.
6. Disconnect power adapter and place the memory module from the lower slot in the top slot, connect the power adapter and try starting.
7. If still no success, carefully disconnect the keyboard ribbon cable from the logic board, then try starting.
8. Remove the HD, then try starting; if the HD is the problem, it should boot to the gray secreen with a flashing '?'.
The instructions below show a step-by-step disassembly; there is no need to remove parts other than what I described for this troubleshooting. Use the correct tools and use good anti-static practices and you should be fine.

Sorry to hear about your mother.
If it's not turning on while connected to the charger, it has some serious problems. Have you tried pressing the tiny Reset button on the back of the unit? There was a thread about E2's failing to power on here:

Has the device been HotSynced to a computer? The contacts will be there in Palm Desktop!

My Layers Turned into Pencils??? I NEED HELP QUICKLY! (DEAD LINE IN 2 HOURS!)

I was going to activate all of the picture CMD+A but something went wrong and I accidentally pressed some other combo and my Layers (TASO) turned into pencils?? I can't edit them, I don't even know which layer is which. I am in very much hurry and need to get this fixed! I have 10 years Photoshop behind me and this has never happened! Change the Thumbnail Size in the Panel Options (from the Layers Panel’s fly out menu).

Need help with a dead Mac Air

So taking a long shot here. I was on my friends Macbook Air last night and it will not start at all. The Mac starts but doesnt go past the apple icon and a spinning gear icon like something is happening in the backround. Have kept it on for hours nothing happens.
Have tried all possible combinations of booting it like SMC reset, Boot in Safe Mode but nothing seems to work.
Is there any way to boot it from a USB or something?
Unfortunately since it wont start i cannot post the exact configuration.
Any sort of help will be appreciated.
Also if there is a way to restore it will be great..

If you have a boot drive on an external HDD with a compatible OS you may be able to start the MBA.
I do think that the best option is to take the MBA to a repair facility for a diagnosis and repair.

Need Help Urgently - System Dead

My system (specs in sig) had been working fine until last night. This morning I woke up to find it frozen. At first it wouldnt show anything on screen when I rebooted. Then once or twice it did but would freeze withing about five minutes of windows xp booting up. after a while, same problem, no display on reboot.
The PSU is fine, cuz the board is powering on and the fans are all working fine. i think i've tried just about everything to troubleshoot what the problem might be but I've come up blank so far. I hooked up the diagnostic LED panel and it was halting at keyboard controller - bottom left LED green, both top and bottom right LED red. I was previously using a PS/2 keyboard which I switched to another keyboard and now finally to a USB keyboard - no display still
I've tried booting barebone, i.e., nothing except video card and memory and no drives, tried switching memory sticks and memory slots. my system is capable of going up to 3.6 GHz (240*15) but I havent overclocked in a long time because of heat issues so everything was at stock. Somebody please help cuz I'm at my wits' end. Thanks.

MSI does not relate to a bad motherboard....maybe previous overclocking has cause some tremendous pressure on the mobo...therefore causing something to malfunction....it is best to replace and keep the overclocking under control in future....do not push too much...
As far as MSI is concerned, it has got one of the most stable overclocking facility i have seen through comparisons.....but use of overclocking will eventually shorten life span of mainboards and processors.

I need help with illustrator 10

I need help with illustrator 10, I have artwork I need to finish in it and it keep kicking me off.
I have added transparency, using SVG effects, a lot more detail and that is when it started kicking me off. I just added 2 gb of ram thinking it was ram I needed but it keeps kicking me off.
I think there is something I need to change in how I save it???

The screen also turns white while I am working and when it does kick me off it says there is an error.I know I am behind the times but I am just trying to get this deadline done and be able to update my computer and such in a few months. Help!

Probably the best place to start is the right forum for your product. This is the forum for Distiller Server, a long dead product used by big companies, and probably not what you have. I have ordered a 800 firewire to 800 firewire cable and am hoping to use the target mode option to copy files from the MBP.

I was able to get part way through cs4, it showed up in my downloads but never got as far in the process as to ask for serial numbers. I tried with cs2 and I got an error message that some bit of information was incorrect. I currently have both downloaded on two other lap tops I own. One is operational and one is dead. I cannot access the dead one to remove the program. Thank you in advance for any assistance.
