My nano, once turned off, does not turn back on unless you reset the whole this.(holding menu and the middle button for 6 sec.) Does anyone know how to fix this. I've tried reinstalling everything, and I have the update. Any other idea's?

You should only need to press the Menu button to wake the iPod up,
Press any button to turn it on. It does not need to be the Menu button.

Place the iOS device in Recovery Mode and then connect to your computer and restore via iTunes. The iPod will be erased.

Need help in restoring back to default Wallpaper

Hi,
My friend did change the IPad Wallpaper and when i try to restore it back to the original wall paper. I don't find it at all. Now how do i restore back to the
default wallpaper.
I did try the below options to restore
1. Reset Home Screen Layout
2. Reset all Settinggs
3. Default by pressing Home Key + Sleep/Wake Button for 10 secs until Apple Logo appears
But none helped to restore it. Need help in restoring back to old wallpaper.

James, in case you are having a problem, these are the steps:
1. Restart the computer holding the Command and R keys
2. In the OS X Utilities window, select Disk Utility and click continue
3. From the sidebar, select your internal disk drive
4. Click the Erase tab near the top of the Disk Utility window
5. Choose Mac OS Extended (Journales) from the pop-up menu
6. Change the name of the disk drive if you want to
7. Click the Erase button near the bottom right of the Disk Utility window
8. In the confirmation dialog that appears, click Erase
9. From the menu bar, choose Disk Utility > Quit Disk Utility
10. In the OS X Utilities winddow, select Reinstall OS X and click Continue
11. In the Install OS X window, click Continue
12. Read and licenss agreement and click Agree
13. In the confirmation dialog that appears, click Agree
14. Select your computer's disk drive form the list of available volumes, click Install
The installer will recreate an OS X Recovery HD, and then restart to the newly created OS X Recovery HD, and then continue with the remainder of the isntall process. This second part may take a while so be patient. When it completes, the iMac will restart again into the installed copy of Mac OS X as a new machine. You will be greeted by the full Setup Assistant.

Oracle XE 10g database offline need help getting it back in 11g EE

Our server crashed...completely crashed...lightning took it clean out. It was older hardware running server 2003, oracle xe 10g, so we replaced it with a newer better server running 2008r2 (64bit I might add).
I need to bring the old database, tablespaces and datafiles back online with the new server and the new instance of Oracle.
I have sucessfully installed oracle 11g EE and can create new a new database (all is online with this), but I need my old data back for PCM 13.1. I cannot find any good online documentation regarding this issue, and we are down until its corrected. Obviously just copying the data over isnt going to work, so any help is much appreciated.
I have good copies of the old hard drives with the folder structures intact, but there is no chance of getting the old OS back online without purchasing old matching hardware and just slamming the drives into it.
Basically how do I get the new instance of Oracle to open and run my older database...how do I restore it?

I did it...yay! Here's what I did...I installed a fresh copy of oracle 10g xe in my virtual xp mode. Stopped the database after installation...deleted and replaced the oradata and fast_recovery_area folders with my old data. Started the database and everything worked so far. In the server with 2008 r2 I installed 11g xe, same system password. I then installed SQL Developer on both computers (easier for me than typing out the scripts). In the XP mode 10g xe computer I did a FULL data pump export to a dump directory. I then moved the dump file to the new server and ran a data pump import, appending data if existing. First time, failed....checked the log and obviously I missed the fact the folder structure MUST be the same for the datafiles or I would have to remap (too much work). The default oradata folder is different in 10g than 11g. I created the oradata folder in 11g xe in the same location as 10g would put it and ran the import script again. BAM, it worked this time...I have my data back in 11g xe and my software was able to find it like it should. Thank you for your consideration and help...hope this helps someone else down the road.

My site went down and I need help getting it back up please!

Hello.   I am new to this forum and new to Dreamweaver.   I had a friend who was helping with my website but lapsed on a payment or two and the site went down. I can log back in now but I am unsure how to move the pages that I stored on my desktop back to the website space.   I tried "insert" but that button doesn't even light up.   Bottom line is I have a folder with the pages before it went down though I am unsure how to convert those to html.   I need to know how to move those files back into Dreamweaver so they appear on the website the way the did before it went down.   I also have them in a zip file form that he asked for a couple of years ago.    Would that help or be a better way to get the files back into Dreamweaver? I am Dreamweaver "stupid" so I need any and all help I can get and thank you very much! Hi Hans.   I appreciate your "hanging with me" and yes I should change the date on my camera.   I changed the batteries recently and just haven't reset it.
I guess I am just not able to find how I access the Dreamweaver directory in the second window.   I have tried various "paths" but cannot find anything within Dreamweaver that says "directory". Only things like required, regloc, plug ins, LMResources, legal, JVM, installer, etc. so I am apparently not following the right path to the directory.   I have tried everything.
I have to be "real careful" as to what I do on the website as the space is "borrowed" from another person who also has his sites up there.   I feel confident though that if I could just copy the older working files onto the site again that "all would be well"   The "tree" is still there but somehow the files are incorrect and I don't even know how to remove them and start again. I just can't seem to figure anything out.   I am very very new at all of this and have probably relied on others for much too long.
Again, thank you so much for your time and effort.   I am still reading and looking :-)

SDN does not have a jobs forum, but there was a discussion recently about creating one for community members to find and communicate job possibilities.
Initially I was sceptical about this, but after a while I changed me mind and think it is a good (community friendly) idea.

Lost my iPhone 6 Plus images and I need help getting them back.

I may just have to go to the apple store, but I am going to see if anyone out here can help me out.
Oct 31st I transferred my SIM from my iPhone 5S to a new iPhone 6 Plus. On December 7th(ish) my new iPhone decided that it would no longer focus on anything that was more than one foot away.
I was hoping that it would fix itself but it never did. So I went to the Apple Forums and there were some people suggested that wiping out the phone and restoring the system would help.
Before I wiped out my phone I did a back up. After the phone restored all the images and information came back. The camera started working for a couple clicks then stopped. I wiped out my phone three maybe four more times and it each time the images came back I even wiped out and set it up as a new iPhone and wiped back out and restored with my iCloud and the image still came up!!! ... but the focusing would not work for more than a couple of clicks.
On December 12 I took it into the iPhone store they said I'd needed a replacement one. Before we removed the "find my phone" and wiped out the device we made sure the phone was backed up. Because I had over 5,500 images on my phone I didn't wait around the store to make sure they all popped up and went home.
When I got home the phone only showed the 4,200 images I had taken with my iPhone 5S up to October 31st!!! However, under my settings my replacement iPhone 6 Plus shows 5,500 images but I cannot locate them.
The other thing that is odd is that all my "shared images" from October 31st to December 12th that I took with my 6 Plus are still showing up as well as the ones that I sent via which leads me to think that they are lost out in the iCloud Universe somewhere.
When logged on to my iCloud.com account it would only allow me to see what is on my current iPhone 6 Plus which includes the images before October 31st and the images I have taken since the iPhone 6 Plus. I cant see any of the images that are on my iPad that are set up under the same account, but it let's me see the icon for the iPad and it also shows me the icon for my other 6 Plus. However, the iCloud website will not allow me to click on the two icons and look at the images.
I believe that after 30 days from December 12th those images will probably by default be deleted from the iCloud system and I want to make sure that I get them back before they do.
I understand that apple changed the layout of the images and I did go and look at all my albums... so this not the case.
I can see my back up from Dec. 9 and Dec 12th and have tried to do the restore on this phone the text and the contacts pull up but the images do not.
Someone please help me out. I have all the images from our recent Disney World Vacation in there and I would really like to have them back.

Need help designing New Back up system

500GB TC decided to retire on its own. Probably will get new 2TB TC on way home today. When one drive goes...so I am doing my eqivalent of Spring cleaning of my externals. Never having a real back up system I am looking for some help. Here is what I am woroking with: 2.4Ghz Core 2 w 4B of 667 DDR on both iMAc and Macbook (not upgradeable to Mountain Lion) MacBook has the large drive (320GB) iMac (250GB?)
External Desk top Drives:
2TB WD My Book Studio LX (contains copies of documents, photos, video, and aperture library....right now holding almost everything while I am cleaning and consolidating data.)
1.5 TB Seagate Free Agent Desk Top (in the process of 7 pass wipe)
1 TB Seagate Free Agent Drive (iTunes) 650GB/1TB
2-500GB G Drives (FW400/USB)
450GB WD older version My Book (FW 800/400/USB) used to use this as my TM for my Mac Book
PORTABLES:
1- 500GB Free Agent Go (FW800mini USB)
1- TB Free Agent Go Flex
My goal is the following:
Create a system that backs up my main photo/Videos , Aperture 3 Main Library, iTunes. Each on seperate External HD's that will also work with a TC using TM to BU laptop and Desktop
One External Hard Drive for my Aperture Library ( I will clean them all up and merge them to make a Master Referenced Aperture Lib that I will use in conjunction with the potrables to edit the projects.) Current AP3 Lib all in all could be 700GB
One External for Photo's ( Master File of "Negatives"- right out the camera/card, no editing, nothing just a copy of the card and the original DCS fie names, put into a named folder) I burn a copy of every card as a second BU. I would like to make a BU of this drive. Currently data ranges in the 600-800GB range, should be towards lower side after removal of duplicates.
One External for iTunes (Currently resides on 1 TB Seagate and has room to grow. Probably is good where it is. Have lots of music you cant get anymore (ie Napster) and many CD's so library isn't all downloads and NO, I haven't gone to iTunes Match.
A Back up system that will make a copy of Aperture, Photos, Itunes ( incrementals of these external)
Additonal Info: I have a DropBox Account (+100GB) and use it relgiously as my DOCUMENTS folder and basic "Carry All". I will be adding the $299 2TB Time Capsule as I need the wireless router. I plan to wipe, erase/repartion and defrag the portables, G-Drives, the 1.5 TB Seagate and the 450GB WD (Using Drive Genius). I will have to check to see if I hae any OEM Seagate or WD BU software, if not I am open to suggestions on what software to use. I really hope not to spend anything if possible of BU Software.
I will plan to purchase a 4-6TB drive in the future to serve as the Master Backup Drive, but for now this is the configuration I have to work with. I appreciate the time and the help. This forum has been beyond useful and a great time saver.

Pbrn under MY VERIZON locate your device and go to SUPPORT/HOW TO USE/APP .. it will walk you through the set up, if your are still having problems hit troubleshooting from right there and it will troubleshoot the app for you..

Actually, I want to know how servlet generate xml and send it back
to the client (MIDlet). My recent plan is to use MySQL as the database
so the servlets will try to fetch the table and convert it into xml document.
Oh yeah... I've been using kXML as parser in my MIDlet (it works).
