I need help with itunes and making my new computer my main itunes. but it wont detect my iphone!! help please.
I have recently purchased a new computer (Windows 8) and have downloaded itunes. However i cant seem to get my computer to recognised or even detect my iphone. My old laptop is broken so i cant access that. I have entered in my apple id and tried home sharing but that has done anything.
Id there any way i can make my new computer my main itunes account??
Any help would be very much appreciated.

If you restore from iCloud backup the apps will be automatically downloaded. If you restore from iTunes backup the apps and music have to be in the iTunes library since synced media like apps and music are not included in the backup of the iOS device that iTunes makes.

Volume changes on playback in iTunes - with Vista and a brand new computer
When I playback any song, the volume slowly goes down. I have to manually turn up the volume, and then constantly adjust it up and down. How can I fix this?

Try playing a song in another program in Windows and see if the problem repeats itself. If it does, it's unrelated to iTunes completely and is a Windows issue. If it doesn't repeat itself, try uninstalling and reinstalling iTunes. -
Making a new computer the main iTunes library?
Hey all,
Purchased a new iMac after my PC fried.
How do I assign the new iMac as the 'main' iTunes library to Synch with? This has me nervous.
I have already shared/uploaded the music and apps into the new iMac iTunes, they are all there, movies and all, but worried if I Synch it, they might disappear or something.
Reason I say this, is that in going to 'synch' movies and podcasts, iTunes said; 'it would erase and refill the iPod, am I sure I wish to do this?' I am leary of deleting all the programs on there incase I might lose things..
Anyone have some comforting advice?

First of all backup your itunes library, just in case... But I guess you already use Time Machine to backup data. Make sure you disable automatic sync in itunes. Connect your phone, control-click on the symbol and backup in itunes, transfer your purchases. After the phone is set up by itunes you can sync your data back to the phone. See these articles:

i was listening to pandora radio on my ipod touch and it jus turned off and went the screen went to the picture with cd of itunes sayig it needed to be connected and i plugged it in to restore it but it wont let me it says error and that its in recovery mode...?
Try kicking it out of recovery mode with RecBoot. If that does not work, restore it.

first, head into your Add/Remove programs and uninstall your QuickTime. if it goes, good. if it doesn't, we'll just attend to it when we attend to itunes.

oonce you get into the revo uninstallergo thru to delete itunes hit uninstall on the itunes icon then you will go thru to it will tell u the same nmessage about the feature and network hit cancell then go thru and hit scan (make sure bthe advance scan button is pushed) this will take awhile but go thru the list and hit everything associated with itunes. hit delete then install itunes again. it worked for me hope it works for you! -

If your Bluetooth is working, you may be able to tether your phone to another device, and backup that way. Either via iCloud or one of many Apps that send yourself a VCF file containing your contacts.
You may have to update to a later IOS via USB and iTunes, not sure if IOS 6 has Bluetooth Tethering.
I would have thought you could also switch off cloud sync'ing for your contacts, this should ask a question if you want to keep the contacts on your phone. An iTunes Backup and then Restore to your new iPhone should restore the local contacts. Then sync these back to the iCloud.

Let's try a standalone Apple Mobile Device Support install. It still might not install, but fingers crossed any error messages will give us a better idea of the underlying cause of why it's not installing under normal conditions.
Download and save a copy of the iTunesSetup.exe (or iTunes64setup.exe) installer file to your hard drive:

Right-click the iTunesSetup.exe (or iTunes64setup.exe), and select "Extract to iTunesSetup" (or "Extract to iTunes64Setup"). WinRAR will expand the contents of the file into a folder called "iTunesSetup" (or "iTunes64Setup").
Go into the folder and doubleclick the AppleMobileDeviceSupport.msi (or AppleMobileDeviceSupport64.msi) to do a standalone AMDS install.
(If it offers you the choice to remove or repair, choose "Remove", and if the uninstall goes through successfully, see if you can reinstall by doubleclicking the AppleMobileDeviceSupport.msi again.)
Does it install (or uninstall and then reinstall) properly for you? If so, can you get a normal iTunes install to go through properly now?

‘iPad is disabled’ fix without resetting using iTunes
Today I met my match with an iPad that had a passcode entered too many times, resulting in it displaying the message ‘iPad is disabled – Connect to iTunes’. This was a student iPad and since they use Notability for most of their work there was a chance that her files were not all backed up to the cloud. I really wanted to just re-activate the iPad instead of totally resetting it back to our default image.
I reached out to my PLN on Twitter and had some help from a few people through retweets and a couple of clarification tweets. I love that so many are willing to help out so quickly. Through this I also learned that I look like Lt. Riker from Star Trek (thanks @FillineMachine).
Through some trial and error (and a little sheer luck), I was able to reactivate the iPad without loosing any data. Note, this will only work on the computer it last synced with. Here’s how:
1. Configurator is useless in reactivating a locked iPad. You will only be able to completely reformat the iPad using Configurator. If that’s ok with you, go for it – otherwise don’t waste your time trying to figure it out.
2. Open iTunes with the iPad disconnected.
3. Connect the iPad to the computer and wait for it to show up in the devices section in iTunes.
4. Click on the iPad name when it appears and you will be given the option to restore a backup or setup as a new iPad (since it is locked).
5. Click ‘Setup as new iPad’ and then click restore.
6. The iPad will start backing up before it does the full restore and sync. CANCEL THE BACKUP IMMEDIATELY. You do this by clicking the small x in the status window in iTunes.
7. When the backup cancels, it immediately starts syncing – cancel this as well using the same small x in the iTunes status window.
8. The first stage in the restore process unlocks the iPad, you are basically just cancelling out the restore process as soon as it reactivates the iPad.
If done correctly, you will experience no data loss and the result will be a reactivated iPad. I have now tried this with about 5 iPads that were locked identically by students and each time it worked like a charm.
