I need help with iTunes. I just bought a new laptop and I have a few questions
So I just bought a new laptop and few days ago. It's an HP. I have the iPhone 4 (8GB). So all my songs from iCloud are on my phone. I want to manually put them on my phone. All of my songs, videos, pictures etc. are on my new laptop. I went to apply the changes on iTunes when I selected "Manually manage music and videos". And a message came up saying "This iPhone is synced with another iTunes library on another PC. Do you want to choose to erase this iPhone and sync with this iTunes library?" Under that it says "Erasing and syncing replaces the contents of this iPhone with the contents of this iTunes library."
So what do I do? I don't want to click sync and loose everything on my phone. I will no longer use the other comuter. I really need help.
Thank you!
There are some instructions on this page for syncing to a new computer : https://discussions.apple.com/docs/DOC-3141
You should be able to copy iTunes purchased music from the phone via File > Devices > Transfer Purchases
If you still have your old computer and you haven't copied your library over form it, then there are also some methods listed on this page about how you could copy it over : http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4527 - the page refers to music, but I've used the home sharing method to copy apps, films etc between computers.

I just bought a new laptop and my ipod nano will not stay connected to my computer. When I first connect the ipod it starts to sync on my ipod but not on itunes. The ipod is initially connected to my computer, I can see it when I look on devices in my computer. However, when it finishes syncing it is no longer detected to my computer. I cannot transfer any of my songs to my new laptop because of this. I have tried to reinstall itunes, reset my ipod and use a different port. None of these things worked. Any ideas?

How to use your iPod to move your music to a new computer -
I just bought a new PC and now have ample space on my C drive to house my music Library which is currenlty installed on a external drive. What is the best way to install and move the itunes library to my C Drive?
If the entire library is on the external drive then simply copy the iTunes folder into <User's Music> on the new computer, then install iTunes. If you've already installed iTunes you will want to remove the empty iTunes folder in <User's Music> first.
If it turns out you only have the media folder on the external drive then take a look at this post...

I just bought a new PC and I have re-installed my Adobe Creative Suite Standard on it.
Software open fine. PROBLEM: The toolbars (menu stuff) appear extra-small, too small for me to read...
I went into the PC settings and tried to change the display resolution. This changes the size of all the icons (not only Adobe) but it does not solve the problem when I open an Adobe application (Photoshop or Illustrator)... The PC is run under Windows 8.1 and my display resolution is 3200x1800 (but again, when I change the settings for a smaller resolution, only the size of the icons is affected. Once I open the software, the problem is still there, extra-small toolbars...). Help!!!Anything before CC is not high-DPI compatible. Feel free to continue to experiment with your system settings.

I just bought a new iPod and I have it set up the same as my old iPod but I can't get notifications on the lock screen like I did on my old iPod. What can I do to fix this?
Hi.
What is the exact notification you are waiting? This could be possible that the device has already been opened once. Don't you think? -
I have just bought a new computer and downloaded itunes. I plugged in my iphone and upgraded to the newest itunes/ synched etc. Now have no music or apps on the phone. Contacts, texts, photos all fine. Just all itunes content that is missiing. It isn't showing in my itunes account on my computer or on my phone. Any idea how to get it back? (No point synching with itunes on my computer as it isn't there either!)
I suggest copying your entire iTunes library to your new computer, also you might want to copy the photos you want to save. Then sync your device to the new iTunes and copy over your music, documents and photos that you want.
If you are no longer going to use the old computer you should open up iTunes on the old computer and use the menu to deauthorize it. Be sure to use the same iTunes menu on your new computer to Authorize the new one. -
i just bought my new imac but i only have the aperture 3 cd and do not have a drive how do i install aperture 3 or where do i download from and then just insert the cd key.
You either burn a disk image of your CD (using Disk Utility) on a mac that still has a drive and transfer the disk image on a thumbs drive or network, or download the Aperture 3 Trial Installer.
Download it here Aperture 3.1 Trial
After running the Trial installer go immediately to Software update in the -menu, and only after updating to the most recent version launch Aperture and enter your registration code to unlock the Trial. Then launch it by double clicking your Aperture Library or clicking the Aperture icon.

just got my new ipad I have several Apple Products that I have loaded to my laptop one in which is my sisters and has a different password why is it that when I go to update my apps I need to enter her password as well as mine
the spcs page on this site state which video formats the ipad supports
I'd suggest converting your old videos to one of those formats
handbrake is a free program which does this for you
itunes used to be able to too when I right clicked incompatible media but don't see the option any more
or maybe it only show when one right click incompatible media and currently my lib don't have any
about the music then it's odd what formats are they?
if they are acc protected have you tried to remove the DRM this can be don using itunes as
apple don't use DRM for music any more -
The i pod will synch purchased songs to the new library but that would mean losing most of my songs. I tried home share but that only showed the purchased songs too.
I would lie to un-synch the old laptop, de-authorise it and remove i tunes altogether as i want to give it away.
How do i un-synch a library to a particular pc and re synch it to the new one? That's not how it works. Authorising is for music purchased from iTunes, not for music you've imported from CDsor elsewhere. Music purchased form other suppliers would also not be subject to this authorising procedure.
Do you still have the old computer? If so, you need to copy the iTunes Library from that to the new computer. For example, in Windows XP, I would copy the My Music folder (which contains the iTunes Library, my Amazon MP3 purchases and album artwork) and put that onto an external drive. Then move the drive to the new computer and copy the copied folder onto the new machine thereby replacing the new machine's My Music folder. Then tell iTunes to look at the imported Library.
Obviously, you need to take into account that you have Windows 7 (where I assume the folder names may be different), any other places on you old machine where songs are located and so on. -
How do I move my copy of elements from one laptop to another ? It was purchased on line so I do not have any discs.
That's not how it works. Authorising is for music purchased from iTunes, not for music you've imported from CDsor elsewhere. Music purchased form other suppliers would also not be subject to this authorising procedure.

How to use your iPod to move your music to a new computer -
I have just bought a new laptop. I have itunes currently used on old PC. Do I need to download the up to date version of itunes on to laptop before I try to copy music library over to laptop or will itunes software automatically copy when I copy the library? I am not that knowledgeable IT wise but can manage slowly.
Know it would be wise to download from here and install first
http://www.apple.com/itunes/download/
Then transfer your music over, details here
http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4527
Finally if you are going to disppose of your old machine then you need to deauthorise it first.

New MBP owner needs help with iTunes
I just bought a new MBP and I have all of my music (iTunes) on my old Windows XP PC. There is about 100mb of music and I'd like to keep it all on that hard drive as I don't want to load up my MBP HD.
I do want my MBP to be the main account for iTunes so I can make changes to tags and rating but I just want it to use the files on the networked HD. It is not necessary that I keep iTunes on the Win XP machine.
One more thing, if possible, I would like to keep a copy of only my 4 & 5 Star rated songs on my MBP (about 10GB) for when I am away. I cannot figure out how to do this. I can sort them in iTunes or create a playlist for these but I don't know how to export copies of only those files. Does anyone know how I can do this?
