I need help with my new iPod video!!!!!

i got an iPod video and i am trying to get some songs onto it. i plugged my iPod into my computer and opened up iTunes. i was told that an iPod icon is supposed to pop up. when i plugged my iPod in, the icon did not show up. what do i do?!

Make sure you have the latest version of iTunes (iTunes 7.0.2.16). To find the version of iTunes you have open iTunes, click Help, then About iTunes. If this does not work then follow the following instructions:

Another problem might be that your service pack of Windows 2000 is not the latest version (Windows 2000 Service Pack 4).
I would recogmend getting Windows XP, many advantages over Windows 2000. Especially security and looks wise.

I explained that Windows ME is not compatible, but you can get it work with a little messing around, and once again, here's a link on how to do it.

As I said previously though, you won't be able to use iTunes.

I need help with my 30gb ipod video

I just got one this weekend and i used the new itunes 7 to convert about 23 videos and then i put them on my ipod. When I try watch any of them I only see video and dont hear anythnig. I know my head phones work because I can listen to my music that i put on it.
is there a step or something im missing?

The file is most likely an MPEG (.mpg) file. The audio and video tracks are merged.
If you use iTunes or QuickTime Pro to convert it, it will only convert the video track and remove the audio.
I recommend getting an MP4 Converter program.

Ok, so i have a 20 GB 4th generation iPod. I just ordered the 30GB 5th generation iPod. I want to get rid of the 20 GB iPod as well. Do i need to unregister the 20 GB iPod and uninstall its software on my computer?? I dont know? How do I set up the new iPod's software, over the other software?? please hep

If you want to get rid of the iPod, simply Restore it.
Don't uninstall anything.
If you have iTunes 7, simply plug in the new iPod. No need to install anything. If you do not have iTUnes 7, you will need to update here -> http://www.apple.com/ipod/start/

Need help with using new ipod as hard drive. please!

Hi. Has anyone had any problems using the ipod as a hard drive between two systems? I have an old 4th generation ipod which I used on my PC. That ipod worked great between macs and pcs as a hard drive. But recently it is completely screwed up. Anyway, I got a new Mac book pro and a 5th generation 60gb ipod.
Now, I'm trying to get some stuff off my pc and transfer it into my mac. In my pc it comes up in "my computer" but keeps asking me to format the hard drive whenever I do the drag and drop of files into it. I've already formatted it for my mac, but haven't put anything on it yet. So I guess I could just do that for the transfer and reformat it for the mac and then put my music on it.
I just want to know, it worked so well between mac and pc as a hard drive when originally formatted for my pc. will it not work the other way around? Will I have to keep reformatting it for the pc every time and then lose any information and all my music if I want to use it in that way? Or is there something I'm doing wrong? I would really appreciate any help at all that anyone could give me. Who really needs a 60gb anyway, if not to be able to transfer files back and forth between home and work, right?

Thank you for your reply. It cleared up a lot of confusion for me. But I have one more question.
See, I looked both of those software applications up, and it seems those are to be installed on the windows operating system. My plan is to eventually stop using my PC and give it away to goodwill, however, for work purposes- which is freelance- I'd need to use the ipod as a nice small portable hard drive- I'm a photographer, and work with big files, so I need the larger space that a flash drive can't give me.
So, is there any type of mac formatting on the ipod that can also be read by the pc? Or is there a 3rd party software that can be installed on the ipod that will enable it to be read on the pc and mac while retaining its mac formatting?
If not I guess I'll just have to go back to the old and extremely inconvenient way of doing things. I really wish mac would have mentioned these things before in all their descriptions.

Trouble with a new iPod video (and a question)

My new iPod video is causing my computer to freeze when I connect it. I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling iTunes. After that, it seemed to be going OK, but it only downloaded about 500m (of a total of 50g) before iTunes froze again and stopped downloading (of course the "Do Not Disconnect" icon on the iPod stayed there, but I had no choice but to disconnect it!).
All of my music is on an external Seagate hard drive coming in through one of my USB inputs. The iPod is on the other USB input. Could this be part of the problem? I don't think it's a drive letter issue since it did start downloading the last time before freezing.
Also, I'm wondering if I can use my old firewire cable from my previous iPod to speed up the transfer process once I actually get the thing working.
Any help would be much appreciated!

Need help hooking up NEW ipod

HI i had the ipod nano and just recently got the new ipod video 30g...I backed up all my songs from itunes onto cd..then i deleted all the songs off the ipod nano and itunes. I then used the new Ipod/itunes installation cd-rom...i installed itunes and then restarted my comp...now i cant get itunes to open or have the computer(windows) recognize my ipod video. Can someone PLEASEEEEEE help!!! thanks i appriciate it!

Try reinstalling those if they are already installed (using the above links to make sure you get the most up to date software).

Hello, need help with my coding in Dreamweaver CS5.5 for HTML5 video with Flash fallback. Not sure if the coding is correct. Do I need anything else Javascipt etc?

The reason you see a blank page is because it's trying to load the file that is pretty humungous and there is no preloader. So, you see a white screen till it complets loading.
Also, the reason why its loading a SWF file and not any of HTML5 type video is because your doctype declaration is XHTML1.0 and not HTML5.
Change the 1st line in your .html file from:
<!DOCTYPE html PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD XHTML 1.0 Transitional//EN" "http://www.w3.org/TR/xhtml1/DTD/xhtml1-transitional.dtd">
to:
<!DOCTYPE html>
Then see if your HTML5 video types load with <video> tag.

Help with my new ipod touch

i seem to be having an issue with my new ipod touch i just replaced my ipod 3rd gen nano with the nano all the songs from an album played together then moved on to the next i cannot get the touch to do the same it lists all the songs in a perticular album on cover flow but when i return it to an upright position a
it lists all my songs in alphabetical order and not grouped together as an album should be i have tried on itunes using the get info and listing them all as a compalation but which works as it groups them all together in cover flow but wont work when i press album in the vertical mode

Whilst upright, switch from 'playlist' mode (bottom of the screen) to artist, touch the artist name in the list, below the 'All Songs' option all your albums by any particular artist/group should be listed so long as your MP3s are tagged properly.

Need help with 30gig black ipod

I just recently purchased this ipod and loaded 233 songs. it was working fine until i connected it to the pc to charge it

This question has been already posted (and answered) several times already. Please use the search function at the top right hand corner of the page.
Please do a search in google for videora ipod converter (if you are using windows) and follow the instructions there.

Help with Syncing new iPod Nano 7th Gen

I just bought a new IPod Nano 7th Generation. I set it up on iTunes and was able to sync music to it but was unable to sync photos from iPhoto or Photos (the new beta photo app with Yosemite). When I chose Sync All Photos the only choice was the Pictures folder or other folder, thus only one picture synced. I suspect this has to do with the beta Photos app but not sure. Also my new iPod does not show up in the iTunes list of approved devices. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks so much.

You have to shake the Nano again to get it to Shuffle to another song. If you want to shuffle the songs in your playlist, start a song from that playlist and then enable the Shuffle option from the additonal controls that you bring up on the Now Playing screen.

Problems with Brand New Ipod Video

I have an ipod video 30G which is only abt 5 days old.
However, I have experienced some problems with it.
After I choose the Artist, instead of going to the album selection section, my ipod immediately skips to song.
For example, I have 4 songs by Daniel Powter. Two of them have the album as "dp" while the other two have unknown albums. I can access the two with "dp" but not the other two. I can only access the other two without album names if i go through Songs selection.
I have already installed all the latest software. and I have used 3 different USB cables. I have also restored my ipod and reloaded the songs, but the problem persists.
I hope I have expressed the problem clearly and thank you for your time.

ok i see what you are saying..
what you need to do for those songs is give them title names and a alblum name and artist name that will solve that.
and the reason why you'r ipod skips to the song is becuase you only have that one alblum on you'r ipod at this moment..if you put more alblums by daniel powter then when you go to artist-alblum- you will be able to select which alblum you would like to listin to.

I need help with my new LG G2. I dial *611 but it will not recognize my phone number

I am having trouble setting up my new LG G2. When I dial *611, it will not recognize my number, and the 800 number refers me back to the *611 number. There is no live chat available on the website, so I am lost. Is this any way to run customer support?

It seems I am about the only G2 customer support you'll fund unfortunately. Chat is available on the support site after logging in to My Verizon on the web, but you have to click on Contact Us at the top right of the page then choose Live Chat and then Help with My device and then look to the right and wait for the red dot to turn green. *611 will take you to a screen where you can launch My Verizon or Click to Call which dials the customer support number. Unfortunately chat is about as useless as waiting for a rep to respond in the forums. Calling is the only way to get started and work your way up the chain. Going to a store is a hassle. What exactly is the problem you're having? You can't activate the phone or set up your Google accounts or what?
