I need help with putting notes on the ipod nano!!!!... HELP!!!...

I have no clue how to even go about putting notes on the ipod nano but i allways get lost!!! I just got it and i need some big time help !!!

1 - Ok, to put notes onto your nano, you'll first need to enable it for disk mode. When it's plugged in, go into iTunes, and open up iPod preferences. Check the "Enable disk use" box.
2 - In your Windoze file browser (what you click on files in), locate your iPod, which should be located in My Computer. Open that up, and locate the notes folder. That is where you can put any notes, in the form of text files, that you want.
3 - Make the notes. iPods only recognize plain text and html files. So, when you open the text file up in a word processor, make sure to save it as a plain text file (.txt extension). Then, just drag it onto your iPod.
In disk mode, your iPod will need to be ejected before you unplug it from your computer. Right click on it (in your My Computer folder) and click "Eject"

I agree, sounds like there's something in the port on the Nano. Try cleaning it out with a can of compressed air, or a gently with a wooden toothpick.

Putting notes on the ipod

i understand that the older ipods could only hold up to a thousand notes composed of up to 4000 characters each...can the ipod classic hold more notes or notes with more characters?

Trouble With Putting Music on New Ipod Nano PLEASE HELP

I Have had my new ipod nano now since christmas and i still havnt figuered out how to put music on it.
When i try to download the new Itunes of apple, it says that it cannt complete downloading because i do not have the priviliges even though i am on the administrators account. If i go on my old itunes my new ipod does not apear on the left for me to put music on, Any Suggestions ?? Please!:)

Try using a USB2 port. If you are already using a USB2 port disconnect any USB1 devices on that port (i.e. if it's got a hub on it).

Is there a way to put apps on the ipod Nano 4th gen??

I'd like to put a timer app for working out on here! Help! Ive done some looking around and found various apps, but they all seem to be for the ipod touch/iphone/ipad. Any help would be appreciated

There is a Stop Watch "app" already on my 5th gen nano. From the main iPod screen, select Extras, then Stop Watch. Your 4th gen nano probably has it too.

There are many threads in this forum that are about many different cases.
I would definitely recommend a wrap for your iPod Nano. If it is already scratched up, I would recommend using Displex to remove them.
As stated above, PDA screen protectors would make a good temporary solution.
Now depending on your taste, there are many different types of cases such as silicone, and polycarbon cases. Just do a Google search, or a search on these forums, and many cases will be presented to you.

Try the suggestions in article - iPod not recognized in iTunes and Mac desktop. If the suggestions do not work, more than likely you need a new battery. Take the iPod Nano to an Apple store or an AASP. Whichever is more convenient for you.

Using Speakers with the ipod nano...help?!

Hi, I was hoping someone could help me. I have the ipod nano and am planning a party. The room is very long and narrow. I was wondering if I can connect speakers to the nano to reach both ends of the room (about 200 feet long). We really want it as background music. Which speakers should I get?
I also have a pretty good docking station, can I connect speakers to it? Do they make cords long enough to reach both ends of the room?

You can certainly attach speakers to your nano, but there are a few things to think about:
1. If you try to run the nano off its battery during the party, you may find that you lose music when the battery runs out. Think about connecting the nano to a charger while the party is going on.
2. Parties typically get pretty loud. The nano is designed to drive headphones, not speakers, so you are not going to get enough volume just by connecting speakers to the headphone jack. You need to either use powered speakers (less good solution) or feed the nano into an amplifier and connect the speakers to the amp (better solution).
Enjoy you party! With the "party shuffle" feature, you can enjoy a great mix.

To put notes on to your iPod, make sure you set your iPod to manually managing your music and video. Afterwards, you can use Windows Explorer to access it, just find your iPod in the devices, double-click and there should be a folder called "Notes". The only files it allows are .txt. On your iPod, the notes folder can be accessed from Main Menu > Extras > Notes. Hope that helps.

Why is the ipod nano not recognized on my computer in order to sync songs from m music library?

I need help. I was able to put songs on the ipod nano from songs that i bought from itunes... but how can i put songs on the nano from my music library already on my computer. I have tried dragging the songs to the folder. I have tried copying songs to the itunes cloud but the nano does not show the songs. How do i put songs on the nano that are from my cds? Beginning playback and controlling music
Some car stereos may require that playback be started or controlled from either the device or the stereo. Ensure that your car stereo is set to the proper input for your device. If it is and you cannot hear sound from your car speakers, try switching to your radio and then back to the proper input.
