I need help with working with old newspaper photos. The photos need to be blown up and displayed on a traveling exhibit. Is there any training available for this?

The photos are from newspapers going back to the early 1900s and they are now on microfilm. I can get them digitized at 600dpi but that still doesn't make them ready for placement on a large display. Besides Adobe help I use Lynda.com but I can't find anything dealing with this very specific topic. Anyone have an idea of a training program that deals with this subject?

Thinking back to when I've seen displays of newsprint that's been greatly magnified, being able to see the halftone screen pattern seems important. It gives the display a look of authenticity.
You say the library can scan at 600 ppi. If that's 600 ppi of a greatly reduced image on a piece of microfiche, it may not give you the resolution you're looking for, and it's entirely possible that getting a quality optical print then scanning it would give you better.
I don't see how you can plan how to proceed in anything like specific detail if you don't have an image that represents what you're really going to be starting with in detail. Perhaps getting one scan might be a good idea.
After that, you just need to figure out what ppi your final overall panel design is going to be at, and upsample the newspaper clippings to match, so that they're the size you need them to be.

I'm still new in this area but I will try to help. AFAIK, J1850 comes in
two flavors: VPW and PWM. You can purchase an adapter that converts RS232
signals to those required by J1850 for about $100.
I suggest using an adapter from Scantool.net. I say this because I
have one and it's very easy to use. It's flexible enough to use with a
terminal (hyperterminal, minicom, etc.) or to interface with LabVIEW, as I

Let me know if it works for you. The interface is a little weak but the

Oh no! I am saddened to hear that you are having troubles with your MMS pictures. I know that this can be an important thing to be able to do. I appreciate you working with us to get this matter resolved as well. I see that you have spent time working with us, and I know that can also be frustrating. There are a few things we can check though. Are these to any specific numbers or all? A factory reset certainly should've resolved this. I'm unable to sync my contacts with the new iPhone 5 and my 2012 Hyundai Santa Fe. Will there be a fix for this in the next update?

I previously had an iPhone 4 synced and paired with my 2012 Hyundai Santa Fe and had no issues. Now I have a new iPhone 5 and am able to sync the phone but the contacts will not update in the phone book listing for the vehicle. I've tried several times to re-sync and pair the phone to the vehicle and still the same issue. I'm able to make an receive calls but no contact information is being displayed. From all of the previous community issues reported it's not an AT&T issue, Hyundai issue, it's clearly pointing at the device (iPhone 5) being the issue.
Will there be a fix for this in the next update?

Thanks for your response. However, after speaking with a level 2 Apple Advisor and Hyundai there is an issue that both companies are aware of and are working towards a resolution. Here's a blurb from Hyundai that was sent to me after I spoke with Apple Advisor:
"We apologize for any inconvenience associated with the technical issues with devices connected via Bluetooth. Hyundai is aware of the iPhone losing its Bluetooth connection to the vehicle along with any function associated with it at the time. Hyundai has been able to reproduce the concern in our test vehicles and have sent all necessary information to Apple engineers. You could use a browser that does not use Flash or Java, as a safety measure when visiting sites; the Safari browser has no support or recent updates. TenFourFox v 24 is fairly good, and uses later Mozilla code, is compatible with powerPC computer limitations. SeaMonkeyPPC has a similar code, but acts a little different; and there still is iCab, a good browser that will run free, but asks you get a $20. license.
The Safari browser can be used to set a different browser up as system default, so it won't launch and open attachments or web pages; it has a setting in its preferences where you choose another browser as default. As I have four or five browsers and one dedicated to gmail (launched as signed-in, through notifier) that is how I've used the default, otherwise mine are all in the Dock.
There is no new upgrade for Adobe Flash plugin player, etc; but the one in their site for vintage is still available at getflash player at Adobe. Most prompts online are to get you something else, even adware loads up from some not-so-clever efforts to get people to install junk. So go to the source. Someone wrote a patch that is supposed to allow a later version of Flash player to work in older 10.5.8 PPC Mac, but I have not tried it.
The thread of security is mostly based on the user and their caution to avoid odd free software and also avoid some sites that try to get people to load cleanmymac or genieo, or other adware malware voluntarily. Those are troublesome and hard to remove, and can waste processor cycles, slow the computer & mess it up. Mostly from a browser the adware issues arise. So anyway, there is really nothing new on the face of it for obsolete OS X systems users.

Is there any updates available for Acrobat 7.0 to be used with Vista?

It seems to be an uncompatibilty with Vista that I acquired yesterday. No problem with XP but struggling with Vista. A guy in Dublin over the phone (when I registered the product) said it was not compatible and that is it. No solution he was aware of. The message given as a code error is 93: -2 or a window appears in Acrobat saying:
HKCMD.EXE and IGFXTRAY.EXE - BAD IMAGE
C:/WINDOWS/SYSTEM32/IGFXRES.DLL IS EITHER NOT DESIGNED TO RUN ON WINDOWS OR IT CONTAINS AN ERROR.
The suggestion is to desinstal and reinstall software. I have tried this but still the same problem. I have tried so many times that I could not activate the software automatically over the internet - so called this guy in Dublin...
I reckon that the suggested update to Acrobat 7.0.1 is not good as when installed, repeated error messages come up! I am reluctant to try to download it again just to try because I am scared that I will have to call Dublin again to activate the software...
Any suggestion on the above?

The current version 9 is designed for Vista (as well as XP)
As far as I know, version 8 would work with Vista AFTER you applied the updates

It's a permissions problem. Try this: right click on your iTunes icon and choose "run as administrator" that might fix it.

We also need to know AIA 3.1 MDM (PDH) PIP's were released for 11g FMW. AIA 2.5 MDM PIP's uses 10g AS (SOA 10g).
Edelivery doesn't have MDM PIPS listed for AIA 3.1 or under AIA 11g. It has foundation pack but not specific to MDM PIP for Product that I'm looking for.

If you go to iTunes>Preferences>Devices you can see if you have an iTunes backup. You need one dated before or the exact time you started the restore.

Need help with cannon RAW photos

Please help- let my employee go and nearly 100 photos of my products were left on my hard drive, but I can not get them to open. They are somehow jacked up (show a different icon than they did). They have no previous version, and absolutely NOTHING I have tried to open them will work. Would someone be willing to test one to see if they can figgure it out? Or, has anyone fixed this problem before?
