  • Urgent need for the creation of solution manager key please

    Hello
Can  i please ask you to create a solution manager key for me ?
i am stuck in my test installation of ECC6.
    Here are my details :
           Instance name : sapdb1
           Instance number : 01
           Computer name : ap-hp1
    Kind regards
    Christophe

    Hi Chris,
I understand the urgency. There are only two ways you can get a solution manager key. One by yourself. Otherwise, please create a message with SAP requesting a solution manager key temproarily. Unfortunately, even though we can create a solution manager key, it is not advisable to distribute the key in forums.
    Hope this helps.
    Thank you.

  • PXI 2532, TB 2641 - Need information on interface board solutions

Hi.  I'm working on a project where I am going to be using a PXI-2532 and a TB-2641 to set up an 8 x 64 switch matrix.  I need an possible solutions for an interface board that will take the signals from the  3 ribbon cables from the TB-2641 and route them to either terminal blocks or some connector that I can then wire my measurment signals into. I was hoping to use a 90 pin femal Elco connector, but right now will look at any options.  Please let me know of any interface board solutions that are out there for me to look at.
    Thanks,
    Doug

    No problem Doug,
The SCB-264x is just listed as an accessory right underneath all of the terminal blocks and with the cable options.  If you contact an NI sales representative when trying to configure a system, they will be able to help you pick all of the correct accessories you need.
I will also recommend you check out our tutorial How to Connect Signals to the PXI/PXIe-2532 that walks through all of the components you'll have and the steps necessary to connect them in your system.

  • Solution manager Remote Connection issues

    Hi
I'm currently in the process of setting up Solution Manager 7.1 on windows Server 2008r2 using central system.
I did the prerequisite check & the Solman installation and i'm actuallly working on the post-installation steps.
I'm experiencing difficulty with the step : "Configure Remote Connection to SAP".
I followed the informations provided on :   http://service.sap.com/remoteconnection
In the technical prerequesite you have to set up a connection to sap support.
So i have to choose a connection type : I selected Internet connection so my first question is : do we need "VPN with SNC" or "VPN OR SNC" ?
I personnaly understood VPN or SNC.
So from here i decided to use SNC.
The first step was to set up & configure the SAProuter. I decided to do it on an another computer on the same domain ( not on the same computer where Solution Manager is installed ) but i'm not sure it is necesary
I assume I can install Saprouter on the same location as the Solution manager? do you recommend it ?
The Basic Functions testing with niping is working.
The next step is : "establish Internet Connections"
So now i can choose between SNC or VPN : my goal is to establish the connection as fast as possible.
I actually don't have a switch available ( i can get one if necesary but time is running ... ) so i'm opting for the SNC solution.
I tryed to get the certificate for the saprouter but i don't have a register SAProuter, but when i opened a customer messager for component  XX-SER-NET, SAP answered about the impossibility to access SAP service Backbone with an SNC , saying that i will need to register a VPN site to site connection to SAP => i don't get it .... Can someone explain it to me ?
So please can one of you guru's tell me how to set this remote connection :
    -which materials ( server / switch / firewalls ) ?
-where to get the right documentation ?
    -What about DMZ ?
-I have a single IP Address is that enough ? ( setting up nat for port  3299 )
    - do i have to contact a service provider ?
My idea was initially to set up the SAProuter on the same computer as the SOLMAN setup & use SNC communication  to communicate with SAP but it doesn't seems that easy. Do i need separate installation for Saprouter <=> Solution Manager. ?
What's the minimal infrastructure to establish this connection ?
In addition to that, after configuring the SAProuter, i had trouble with the SAPMMC : on my system , on the instance 0 , the process disp+work.EXE  won't run ( yellow light )and i can't find where i made a mistake if you have suggestions ...
Really need your help, i'm on a short deadline ... Any help, even incomplete, would be appreciated.
    Thanks a lot.

    Thx for the answer.
I actually managed to register my saprouter with SAP and was granted with CN/OU & connection informations.
I followed this guide : http://service.sap.com/saprouter-sncdoc  with the addition of this guide : http://wiki.sdn.sap.com/wiki/display/Basis/SAProuterviaSNC.
My first issue : I'm running with a Windows server 2008 r2 enterprise edition 64 bits with a processor Intel Xeon 2.4ghz ( dualcore). so i decided to use the crypto folder "nt-x86_64"
For the environment variable i set as System variables SECUDIR = C:\usr\sap\saprouter and SNC_LIB = C:\usr\sap\saprouter\nt-x86_64\sapcrypto.dll
The generation/install of the certificate is alright ( sapgenpse get_my_name -v -n Issuer is OK )
    using the command :saprouter -r -K "p:CN=mycn, OU=myOUnbr, OU=SAProuter, O=SAP, C=DE" i have
I get the following message :  trc file     dev_rout
                                                    no ligging active
Its strange cause it looks like its running but when i check the services running on windows saprouter isn't started .... How to know if SAProuter is running right ?
If i folow the SAP procedure : Step 3 : test of the ip connection by the customer : SAP Remote Services : technical preparation ( see SAP Note 812386 ) : it's ask in the note to implement note 766505 via SNOTE : i get the following error msg : Error in remote connection to destination SAPOSS : Error when opening an RFC connection ( LB: Hostname or service of the message server unknown#DEST = SA
    What's wrong ?
If i use T oss1 in parameter => technical setting => i set my saprouter info in SAProuter 1 ( at customer site ) with instance no. 99 and if SAProuter and SAPNet Message Server at SAP i put the following : Name : sapserv2 / IP Address 194.39.131.34 intance no. 99 and message server name oss001/ DB Name 001/ Instance no.01.
When trying to "Logon to SAPNet"  i have an error Unable to connect to SAPNet message server ( default connection will be used ... )
and followed by the error screen : "partner '80.15.173.168:sapdp99' not reached WSAECONNREFUSED : Connection refused. do you want to see the detailed error description ? "
    Details : module nixxi.cpp / line 3286 / Method : NipConnect2:80.15.173.168:3299 / Return code : -10 / System call : connect / Error No : 10061 / Error Text WSAECONNREFUSED: Connection refused / Counter : 10
    Any idea ?
    when doing niping.exe -c -H /H/mylocalSR/H/194.39.131.34/H/194/39.131.34 i obtain :
    Wed Dec 07 21:20:09 2011
    connect to server o.k

    excluding max and min :
    av2   118.273 ms
    tr2   16.514 kB/s
Is it the expected output ?
I've maintained system data in service.sap.com/system-data ( selecting the sap router ) then i tryed to use the SAP service connection, downloaded the .exe but i can't find the stfk.oez. I realized that in my maintain connection screen i have no space for entering any routestring. Seems wrong ?
Do i have to use the SAO?
i've made nat redirection from my router as this : from my public ip to my lan ip ( 192.168.x.x) what should i enter in the routestring : /H/public or lan or hostname ?/S/3299 ?
Hoping you can help me ! ( the goal of all this is to set up RFC connection for postinst step of Solution manager ).

  • Difference between Solution manager and ASAP

    Hi All,
Can anyone tell me what's the difference between SAP solution manager and ASAP?
    Regards
    Saroj

ASAP stands For Accelerated SAP........its a SAP implementation methodology. It consists of Five phases---
    1. Project Preparation
    2. Business Blueprint
    3. Realization phase
    4. Final preparation phase
    5. Go live and Support
For Solution manager u can follow this link:
    http://www.sap.com/services/pdf/BWP_SB_SAP_Solution_Manager.pdf
ASAP and Solution Manager are tools used for managing SAP implementation and roll out project. Both supports sevral stages of the project as mention by Raj.
The main Difference between three tools (ASAP, VSAP and Solution Manager) are as follow:
    ASAP:
    - Offline CD set with tools, content and a methodology for component-based implementation projects
    VSAP:
    - Offline CD set with tools, content and methodologies for Evaluation, Implementation and Continuous Business Improvement
    - ASAP CD set is used as a tool platform. ASAP content is included to cover the implementation phase
    Solution Manager:
    - Onsite platform to support key implementation actitivities
    - Including key ASAP concepts and tool features
    - Enhanced concepts to encompass the specifics of mySAP.com implementations
    - Integrated platform to support Implementation and operation of mySAP.com
    - Solution Manager is server based tool.
More informaiton you can find from the following links:
    ValueSAP : https://www.service.sap.com/valuesapupdates
    Solution Manager: http://service.sap.com/solutionmanager
some documents what is the duty of asap and solution manager i think with u can understand the difference.
    asap means,
    ASAP
ASAP stands for Accelerated SAP. Its purpose is to help design SAP implementation in the most efficient
manner possible. Its goal is to effectively optimize time, people, quality and other resources, using a proven
    methodology to implementation.
ASAP focuses on tools and training, wrapped up in a five-phase process oriented roadmap for guiding
    implementation.
The road map is composed of five well-known consecutive phases:
    • Phase 1 Project Preparation
    • Phase 2 Business Blueprint
    • Phase 3 Realization
    • Phase 4 Final Preparation
    • Phase 5 Go-Live and support
In today's post we will discuss the first phase.
    Phase 1 : Project Preparation
Phase 1 initiates with a retrieval of information and resources. It is an important time to assemble the
necessary components for the implementation. Some important milestones that need to be accomplished
    for phase 1 include
    • Obtaining senior-level management/stakeholder support
    • identifying clear project objectives
    • architecting an efficient decision-making process
    • creating an environment suitable for change and re-engineering
    • building a qualified and capable project team.
    Senior level management support:
One of the most important milestones with phase 1 of ASAP is the full agreement and cooperation of the
important company decision-makers - key stakeholders and others. Their backing and support is crucial for a
    successful implementation.
    Clear project objectives:
be concise in defining what your objectives and expectations are for this venture. Vague or unclear notions of
what you hope to obtain with SAP will handicap the implementation process. Also make sure that your
expectations are reasonable considering your company's resources. It is essential to have clearly defined
ideas, goals and project plans devised before moving forward.
    An efficient decision making process:
One obstacle that often stalls implementation is a poorly constructed decision-making process. Before
embarking on this venture, individuals need to be clearly identified. Decide now who is responsible for
different decisions along the way. From day one, the implementation decision makers and project leaders
from each area must be aware of the onus placed on them to return good decisions quickly.
Environment suitable for change and re engineering:
Your team must be willing to accept that, along with new SAP software, things are going to change, the
business will change, and information technology enabling the business will change as well. By
implementing SAP, you will essentially redesign your current practices to model more efficient or predefined
best business practices as espoused by SAP. Resistance to this change will impede the progress of your
    implementation.
    Building a qualified project team:
Probably the most important milestone early in assembling a project team for the implementation. If you are
implementing the materials management and plant maintenance modules, you need to include people from
both of these departments. The team should also represent management as well as non management or
"functional" personnel. Sometimes management is less aware of the day-to-day functions of an organization,
including how implementing SAP will tactically influence those function
    ASAP- Second Phase- Business Blueprint
SAP has defined a business blueprint phase to help extract pertinent information about your company that is
necessary for implementation. These blueprints are in the form of questionnaires that are designed to probe
for information that uncovers how your company does business. As such, they also serve to document the
implementation. Each business blueprint document essentially outlines your future business processes and
business requirements. The kinds of questions asked are germane to the particular business function, as
seen in the following sample questions:
    1) What information do you capture on a purchase order?
    2) What information is required to complete a purchase order?
Accelerated SAP question and answer database:
The question and answer database (QADB) is a simple although aging tool designed to facilitate the creation
and maintenance of your business blueprint. This database stores the questions and the answers and
serves as the heart of your blue print. Customers are provided with a customer input template for each
application that collects the data. The question and answer format is standard across applications to
facilitate easier use by the project team.
    Issues database:
Another tool used in the blueprinting phase is the issues database. This database stores any open concerns
and pending issues that relate to the implementation. Centrally storing this information assists in gathering
and then managing issues to resolution, so that important matters do not fall through the cracks. You can
then track the issues in database, assign them to team members, and update the database accordingly.
    ASAP Phase- 3 - Realization:
With the completion of the business in phase 2, "functional" experts are now ready to begin configuring SAP.
The Realization phase is broken in to two parts.
    1) Your SAP consulting team helps you configure your baseline system, called the baseline configuration.
    2) Your implementation project team fine-tunes that system to meet all your business and process
requirements as part of the fine tuning configuration.
The initial configuration completed during the base line configuration is based on the information that you
provided in your blueprint document. The remaining approximately 20% of your configuration that was not
tackled during the baseline configuration is completed during the fine tuning configuration. Fine tuning
usually deals with the exceptions that are not covered in baseline configuration. This final bit of tweaking
represents the work necessary to fit your special needs.
    Configuration Testing:
With the help of your SAP consulting team, you segregate your business processes into cycles of related
business flows. The cycles serve as independent units that enable you to test specific parts of the business
process. You can also work through configuring the SAP implementation guide (IMG). A tool used to assist
you in configuring your SAP system in a step-by-step manner.
    Knowledge Transfer:
As the configuration phase comes to a close, it becomes necessary for the Project team to be self-sufficient
in their knowledge of the configuration of your SAP system. Knowledge transfer to the configuration team
tasked with system maintenance (that is, maintenance of the business processes after Go-live) needs to be
    completed at this time.
In addition, the end users tasked with actually using the system for day-to-day business purposes must be
    trained.
ASAP Methodology - Phase 4 - Final Preparation:
As phase 3 merges into phase 4, you should find yourselves not only in the midst of SAP
training, but also in the midst of rigorous functional and stress testing. Phase 4 also
concentrates on the fine tuning of your configuration before Go-live and more importantly, the
migration of data from your old system or systems to SAP.
Workload testing (including peak volume, daily load, and other forms of stress testing), and
integration or functional testing are conducted to ensure the accuracy of your data and the
stability of your SAP system. Because you should have begun testing back in phase 2, you do
not have too far to go until Go-live. Now is an important time to perform preventative
maintenance checks to ensure optimal performance at your SAP system.
At the conclusion of phase 4, take time to plan and document a Go-live strategy. Preparation for
Go-live means preparing for your end-users questions as they start actively working on the new
    SAP system.
    ASAP - Phase 5 - Go-live and Support:
The Go-live milestone is itself is easy to achieve; a smooth and uneventful Go-live is another
matter altogether. Preparation is the key, including attention to what-if scenarios related not only
to the individual business processes deployed but also to the functioning of technology
underpinning these business processes and preparation for ongoing support, including
maintenance contracts and documented processes and procedures are essential
    solutionmanager means,

  • Solution Manager 4.0 and SLD automatic population

Our Solution Manager 4.0 installation was failing repeatedly while importing the CIM objects into the SLD. So here is what we did:
1.During installation we pointed the Solution Manager data supplier to the production SLD. The production SLD is on 640 wheras this is on 700.
2.After installation we created the Solution Manager (Admin) SLD by creating all necessary roles, groups, users and started importing the CIM and the delta.
3.We setup the data supplier of the production SLD to populate the  Solution Manager (Admin) SLD. It looks like it is not getting populated and we got the following error in the production SLD:
#73 01/09/2007 12:39:15.173 [Thread-124] WARNING com.sap.lcr.sagent.BuilderDirector: Warning: SLD target system http://host:50100/sld sld/active not available (incoming data will be ignored).
    Thrown:
com.sap.lcr.api.cimclient.CIMClientException: Received response is not a CIM Operation Response! Check "http://host:50100/sld" is the correct URL for the SLD CIM Object Manager and that user "user" has access to the SLD via http.

    at com.sap.lcr.sagent.BuilderDirector.run(BuilderDirector.java:459)
But this is the URL we use to go to the Solution Manager SLD!!! and the user is also correct.
1.I want to setup a way where the Solution Manager (Admin) SLD is populated from the production SLD every so often thru SMSY_SETUP -> Expert Settings -> Write back into SLD.
2.I want to use this Solution Manager (SLD) as the Admin SLD for NWA.
3.How do I know that the Object Manager of is up/down in the Solution Manager(SLD) and maybe restart it, while I can see that the SLD server is up.
3.I Manually setup some of the technical systems in the Solution Manager SLD by logging onto it http://host:port/sld, but I cannot see those in System Landscape in Solution Manager.
Can somebody please tell me how I can proceed from here.
A quick response would be appreciated with points.
