Need instruction for how to import photos and videos from my Samsung cell phone to iPhoto.  Thx

Copy the files to the Mac and then drag them to the iPhoto window, or use the File -> Add to Library command
As for how to connect the phone and the Mac, for that you'll need to read the manual for the phone or seek support from a Samsung or Android (that's the operating system) site.

I have 220 photos on my camera to be downloaded to Lightroom. I want to organize them in 6 different folders. Can this be done?  I need instructions to do this.

You cannot direct a single Copy Import operation from your card into multiple folders, but you can either import multiple times, selecting different photos each time from the Import grid, and specifying a different destination, or you can import everything into one folder, then use drag-and-drop in LR with different selections of photos into various folders you create within LR’s Library module folder panel.  As long as you do the folder creating and photo moving within LR then LR will know where the photos have been moved to.
What I do is move the photos into multiple folders on the card, itself, outside of LR, using Explorer’s thumbnail previews to guide me, then drag-and-drop those folders to their final destination on my hard drive still outside of LR, then do an Add Import, by dragging and dropping those folders onto LR Library’s central area, so that’s another way.

  • I have an MFC J410W Brother's printer, and I need instructions on how to print from my IPAD 4.

I need to know how to print from my IPAD 4 on my MFC J410W Brother's printer.

Printing from an iPad or iPhone
To print directly from an iPad you need an AirPrint - enabled printer on the same wireless network as the iPad. All AirPrint printers are wireless but not all wireless printers are AirPrint-enabled. Your Brother MFC-J410W is not an AirPrint printer.
If you do not have an AirPrint printer, a number of workarounds exist that enable the use of any printer you normally use, even older ones that may predate AirPrint by decades. Search for the following products:
    handyPrint (Mac only, donation-supported)
Printopia (Mac only, $19.95 with free trial)
These are utilities you install on the Mac you normally use for printing, enabling it to act as an AirPrint print server. The Mac must be "on" but may be asleep for them to work. The iPad needs nothing else, no iOS apps need to be installed and no configuration is necessary. If your computer can print, so can the iPad, using one of these utilities on your Mac.
Equivalent utilities may exist for PCs but I have no experience with them - I suggest https://www.collobos.com
You can also buy this standalone hardware print server, bypassing the need for a computer altogether:
    http://www.lantronix.com/it-management/xprintserver/xprintserver.html
Otherwise you will need to buy an AirPrint printer or multifunction device.
    The following are my recommendations
    AirPrint compatible Brother laser devices
    and
    AirPrint compatible Brother inkjet devices
Read the reviews and choose wisely.

  • Need instruction on how to print with HP Officejet 6210

this is with a powerbook G4 1.5, OS 10.4.5, and an HP Officejet 6210 with newest drivers (released 8/06).
I've used an HP PSC950 for years, connected to my AEBS with USB, using Felix's instructions for setting up the foomatic/hpijs driver, always worked great. Once in a while it would go out on me, rarely, and i'd reinstall the driver and it would work again.
Several months ago, i was trying to print something on Mapquest and i gave too many commands at once and the system got confused and ever since then, it won't print wirelessly, reinstalling the driver didnt' help.
Also, i'm not sure i'm adapting Felix's instructions to the new OS which doesn't exactly match the instructions.
Anyway, haven't had wireless printing in months. Finally tonight, i went out and got a new printer, the HP Officejet 6210, first checking and finding it on the compatability list, both Felix's list and HP's list.
I set it up, it works fine with direct computer/printer USB connection.
I just don't know how to set up the Mac to print with the 6210. I have the 6210 connected to the AEBS with USB cable. I dont know what else to do.
I went to an HP page where it gives step by step instructions for USB to Airport instructions.
    http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/document?lc=en&cc=us&docname=c00592751&produc t=421991&dlc=en&lang=en
Step one and two are OK. Step 3 says:
"Turn on the printer and verify that the wireless mode is enabled. If you need more information on how to enable the wireless mode, see the User Manual which shipped with the printer."
I have no clue about how to verify that the wireless mode is enabled. In the index of the 6210 User Manual there is not a word about 'wireless.' The word 'network' isn't in there either. Under 'Connection' it doesn't mention anything about wireless printing. So i'm not really able to do this step.
I tried to do the other steps but if they are talking about the Airport pull down menu in Step 4, there is no printer listed there. I tried to follow step 5 but it leads nowhere.
Is there some way to set up the Mac the way i set it up for the foomatic/hpijs driver for the PSC 950, so that i can select 10.0.1.1 in the printer menu and print? I tried going into the set up utility and chose Add and chose internet IPP printing and wanted to choose the HP 6210 driver but it wasn't available. There was an HP 6200 series foomatic/hpijs driver--what does that mean? Am i supposed to use that? I chose that and tried to print from 10.0.1.1 but in Print Jobs it just says "10.0.1.1 is busy, will retry in 30 seconds." In other words, it doesn't work. This is what happened when i tried to get the PSC 950 working again too.
Anyway, the HP instructions don't have anything to do with any of this. They just say to make sure the wireless mode is on and then go to Safari and choose Bonjour and various other things that when i try them, they aren't available as choices.
I know that someone on these forums was able to use Bonjour to print with their laptop so it must be possible (with Windows however).
    http://discussions.apple.com/thread.jspa?messageID=1494092&#1494092
Plus HP says they tested the connection with Mac OS and it works. So it must just be a matter of some knowledge i am lacking that would get it working.
If the printer won't work, i have to return it within 14 days so I need to get on it and try to determine if it will work.
Could there be a problem with my AEBS, which would explain why i was never able to get my PSC950 to print wirelessly again after that crash on Mapquest?
Do i need to reinstall the OS?
I seriously don't think this printer has a wireless mode, otherwise it would be mentioned in the manual. I ran through the menu, tools and preferences (on the printer)--nothing about wireless mode. But why should it need a wireless mode if it's connected by USB cable to the AEBS? Isn't this just a matter of setting up the Mac software to print with Airport?

i have duplicate posts because when i tried to post the comments on 'question answered', i got a red error message saying i had violated no posting within 30 seconds of the last post. I carefully counted out 30 seconds and then waited some more, but i got the same error when i tried to post it again. so then i clicked on the Reload or Refresh browser button, "are you sure you want to send this page again?" yes. then i tried sending the answer comments again and it posted, a long with two duplicates.
What ever happened to the Edit and Delete post buttons that used to be available on this site, for a short time after posting?

  • Need simple instructions on how to setup/transfer iphone purchased on eligible line

    Scenario:
I did not have an eligible upgrade for my line but I had one for another line under my plan; therefore, I went in and purchased an iphone for that eligible line.  The issue is that I actually "desire" the iphone for my line.
Here is where my question comes in:
I have seen multiple conflicting responses on how this should be done....some say to activate iphone on eligible line then re-activate old phone on that line, then move iphone to my "desired" line....others say just to activate the iphone on my "desired" line from the getgo...
Can someone give me the definitive answer on what method/steps I need to take to get this done?
I just received the iphone and it is just sitting in a box because I don't want to screw this process up until I know for sure what to do.

Can someone give me the definitive answer on what method/steps I need to take to get this done?As you stated, activate the iPhone on the eligible line, complete the activation, perhaps make a test call just to be sure it IS activated on that line.  Then turn it off.  Pick up your now inactive old phone, dial *228, option 1 and re-activate it.  If it tells you to call customer service or for some reason will not re-activate, then call customer service from a land line or phone other than the ones involved in the swap.
Once the old phone is re-activated and the iPhone is deactivated, turn the iPhone back on and dial *228 option 1 to activate it to the # you actually want it on.  make sure the phone that is currently active on that number is turned off.  Again, if it doesn't happen, call customer service from a number/phone not involved in the swap and they can help you out.
I just received the iphone and it is just sitting in a box because I don't want to screw this process up until I know for sure what to do.
Hope it all works out and the iPhone is all you anticipate!

  • Need instructions on how to order Tiger

    I have the following system:
    PowerBook G4 (3.3) 17-inch
    Serial Number V73161WXMVZ
    OS 10.3.9
    1 MB DDR SDRAM
55.88 GB hard drive with 6.2 GB free
I want to upgrade to at least Tiger (10.4) or maybe even Leopard (10.5) if my system will support it.  I will be doing an "Archive and Install" protocol.
I have found a couple of other discussions (one from January of this year) regarding this situation, but the devil is in the details, which are missing.
Who do I contact (phone preferred; email acceptable) to arrange to get the latest version of OS which will run on my system.  Does the software come on a CD(s) or DVD?  I'm not sure if my system can read a DVD.  Hopefully an Apple guru can tell from the system info I have provided.
If the software comes on a DVD, and my system won't read a DVD, then I need a version of the software I can download and install.  I also have Mac Mini running OS 10.6.8 on the same network, so a network installation can be done, but I will need step-by-step instructions for doing this.
    Thanks,
    Cheri

The Leopard installer is on a DVD. You need to increase the amount of free space on your hard drive before installing Leopard. Your HD will be almost full if you install Leopard & you risk disk corruption & slow operation.

  • Im about to reset my modem and need steps on how to setup stuff

I'm new to these things but i forgot my acc and pass on the 192.168.1.1 to setup a pass because people keep using my wifi and it makes my internet slow like crazy. Can someone provide me proper instructions with well explained details? thanks a lot.

OK. From this point, here's what you need to do. Before resetting your modem, see if you can obtain your Username and Password for the Verizon service, if you don't know this. It would be the same imformation used to log into your Verizon e-mail and Account area. Once you've gotten this information, locate and hold the Reset Button on your router down for 30 seconds.
Once the modem reboots, visit http://192.168.1.1/ on a PC connected to the router using Ethernet. Be aware, you may get a Verizon welcome screen upon opening your browser. IGNORE THIS, IT IS A WALLED GARDEN WE WILL SHUT OFF. The first time you log in, it will ask you for a Username and Password. Use the username of admin and the password of password. Another screen will pop up asking you to change the password. Change the router's password to something you will remember, but is strong enough to not be easily guessed. Save the password, and then log in with your username and the new password. If you are prompted to set up a PPPoE connection, use the Username and Password from your Verizon e-mail/Account page and enter it in. If all goes well, you should see the Internet light come up Green. In some areas, you can also use any User/Pass combination on the PPPoE connection to make it work.
From here, visit http://192.168.1.1/verizon/redirect.htm or http://192.168.1.1/verizon/redirect (whichever one works) and press the Disable button. From here, the Walled Garden as mentioned before will be shut off so that you can configure anything else, such as the Wireless settings you wish to use manually.
I hope I covered everything, and I also hope this helps. If you do get stuck or are lost in a step, you can always reset the modem and start over, or you can let the walled garden page perform it's duty and configure the modem (so that it can connect again) for you.

  • How to Setup Officejet 7310 in AutoCAD?

I am trying to configure AutoCAD (on a Win2000 machine) to use this printer as a plotter on a "Local Port".  (the Postscript level choices were "Level 1", "Level 1 Plus", and "Level 2").  I get the following error:
"The output to the device must be spooled through a system printer because of a conflict over an I/O port. The HDI hardwre configuration will not take effect. Some System printers could possibly mess up the output. To allow direct connection to the port, all system printers must be reconfigured not to use that port."
Then it prints a bunch of gibberish which I think it is saying that my Postscript level is either too high or too low.  I have tried creating additional ports with Windows and plotting to the port where the secondary printer is connected. Same results.
I was able to plot through the system printer and print a square. The problem here is that a very simplistic driver gets used with not much control over the output, and as the error message said, "Some System printers could possibly mess up the output".
Is this printer or its driver not able to process Postscript?  If not, then what printer should I choose in the AutoCAD Plotter Manager?

I am pretty certain that I specified AutoCAD to use Postscript level 2 for my last printer: L7680 connected by USB. My search results imply that neither the 7310 or the L7680 are Postscript capable, but I could not find anything difinitive on the HP website. Could someone tell me difinitively if these and the Officejet 7130 (needing repair) which I have also used with AutoCAD are capable of Postscript?
If not, then the drivers for the 7130 and L7680 must have done the translation.  Is this just a problem in how the 7310 is configured?  See my other thread: Printing Blocks and Bands of Color.
The AutoCAD support site says that HP supplies drivers for AutoCAD, but I could not find any. Can you post a link?

  • Need instructions on how to use my new xbox with my X-Fi Titanium

    Heyho,
I'm about to get my new Xbox 360 today/tomorrow and as I have a 5. soundsystem running with my pc I want the 360 5. sound to be on this system as well. Thus I'd like to connect my xbox via toslink with my x-fi titanium and then put it out over my speakers.
As I'm not that familiar with the dolby digital stuff I need some help on how to set this all up properly.
    Any help is welcome
    Edit: My OS is win7

Take the cord and plug it into the computer. Now plug your phone in(make sure iTunes is installed on computer: www.apple.com/iTunes) you can now sync the photos music and every thing else.
after doing that you can do this:
To sync with the computer, make sure you are signed in on both iPhone and computer with the same account. You can go to Settings then iCoud and switch automatic syncing of photos, songs, etc. this will put it all back on. It will save everything "on the cloud"
