I need macbook pro help screen Please :)

My macbook pro 13 inch has a messed up screen. The screen is bent so I have to hold the screen in order for the colors not to bleed. And, currently 2 inches of the right side is just black and the whole visivle screen is pushed over so I can't even see the apple sign to shut it down. It's awful and the guys at the genius bar just "bent it back" when in actuality they did nothing. I have to use it all day tomorrow and I can't hold it like that all day. It's so dumb for a 1000+ machine. Please help

If you're saying the Apple expert "bent it back," it seems that there was some damage of some sort beforehand. It's hard to tell from your description.
If it wasn't damaged, but rather the problem happened as a result of failed workmanshop or failed parts, you have every reason to visit the Apple Store again and demand a resolution of the problem. This is especially important if you're still under warranty; get it fixed now.
If the MBP was damaged beforehand, or it's out of warranty, your options are limited. Repair, either from the Apple Store or a third-party, is your only option.
Post here with your results!

  • I need Macbook Pro help please!

My Macbook Pro is not even two years old yet and has been freezing frequently for about a month. About a week ago it completely froze, so I turned it off to re-start it and it would not turn back on. Everytime I tried to turn it back on it would get stuck on the white loading page for hours. It is finals week at college and I have lost a very important document for one of my classes! If you can help that would be awesome! Thank you:)

It is saying that the "Disk Utility cant repair this disk. Back up as many of your files as possible, reformat the disk, and restore your backed-up files." Any other recomendations?
You can try using one of the following 3rd party utilities - DiskWarrior (Highly Recommended for Directory Damage Repair)[email protected]

Doesn't sound like it.  It sounds like you're being logged-off.
Does your Mac go through the complete Restart cycle -- black screen, gray and/or blue screen momentarily, startup chime, etc?
If you're not sure, do a Restart just to watch the process; the next time the problem occurs, see if it's the same.
You need to know which it is, as these will have very different causes, and different places to look for a solution.

  • Macbook Pro Problems. Please help!

My computer has recently been experiencing some problems. Less than a month ago I had about 5 kernel panics. Suddenly, they went away, but other problems have arose. Finder keeps on relaunching and nearly every program unexpectedly quits. I have no clue why this is happening, please help. I am using a Macbook Pro, 15" screen, 2.33 Ghz, 2 GB RAM.

and, i might add, since it appears he is still running 10.4.8 and may not have done the 10.4.10 update, it would seem to narrow down the problem to possibly bad airport firmware or bad airport driver. something that apple needs to address. i suggest you call appleCare and get a case number started and join the club.

  • Macbook Pro 13" Screen went Black - Can only see when plugged into another display! HELP!

My MacBook Pro's screen went black last night and now when it turns on it stays black. I plugged it into my tv through the mini display port and I can see everything fine on the tv but the screen on my laptop is black. Everything else seems to be working fine. Any advice that doesn't involve taking to Genius Bar??? Already tried booting in safe mode, resetting the PRAM and NVRAM. Need to fix this ASAP. Thanks!!

Please make a Genius Appointment and take it in for service.

I've installed windows 7 with the help of bootcamp on my macbook pro 2011.
Please help me how to install mac drivers for windows7 64 bit???

You either download drivers from within Boot Camp Assistant and save to USB FAT disk, or you insert and use 10.6.x OS X DVD when in Windows and install and run the SETUP from there.

Step 4: Install the Boot Camp Drivers for Windows
After installing Windows, install Mac-specific drivers and other software for Windows using your Mac OS X installation disc.  The Mac OS X disc installs drivers to support Mac components, including AirPort,built-in iSight camera, the Apple Remote, the trackpad on a portable Mac, and thefunction keys on an Apple keyboard.
The Mac OS X disc also installs the Boot Camp control panel for Windows and theApple Boot Camp system tray item.
To install the Boot Camp drivers:
1 Eject the Windows installation disc.
2 Insert the Mac OS X disc.  If the installer doesn’t start automatically, browse the disc using Windows Explorerand double-click the setup.exe file in the Boot Camp directory.
    3 Follow the onscreen instructions.
If a message appears that says the software you’re installing has not passed Windows  Logo testing, click Continue Anyway.
Windows that appear only briefly during the installation don’t require your input.
If nothing appears to be happening, there may be a hidden window that you mustrespond to. Check the taskbar and look behind open windows.
Important: Do not click the Cancel button in any of the installer dialogs.
4 After your computer restarts, follow the instructions in the Found New Hardware  Wizard to update your software drivers (Windows XP only).
5 Follow the instructions for any other wizards that appear.
6 Check for updated Boot Camp drivers by using Apple Software Update or going to www.apple.com/support/bootcamp.
If You Have Problems Installing the Device Drivers
If it appears that the Boot Camp drivers weren’t successfully installed, try repairing them.
    To repair Boot Camp drivers:
1 Start up your computer in Windows.
2 Insert your Mac OS X installation disc.
3 If the installer doesn’t start automatically, browse the disc using Windows Explorerand double-click the setup.exe file in the Boot Camp directory.
4 Click Repair and follow the onscreen instructions.
If a message appears that says the software you’re installing has not passed Windows  Logo testing, click Continue Anyway.
If you need to reinstall specific drivers, you can install one driver at a time. For example,if your built-in iSight camera isn’t working, you can reinstall just the iSight driver.
Individual drivers are in the Drivers folder on the Mac OS X installation disc.

    Hi Timia,
If you are using Safari as a web browser :-
Open Safari, go to Safari menu > Preferences > General, and put Google as the homepage. Then, choose Google as your default search engine.
If you are using Google Chrome as the web browser :-

  • My 13" Macbook Pro's screen resolution is messed up.

My 13" Macbook Pro's screen resolution is off. I restarted it yesterday and it has been bad since. For best quality I am having to put it on 1024 x 768 (not stretched) which the highest, but still not as good as original and not full screen. HELP PLEASE!

After about three restarts a new higher reolution option appeared (odd) and it is now fixed.

  • When starting the macbook pro, the screen was flashing black and white, then to color to color, any suggestion to fixing this problem?

When i am starting the macbook pro, the screen was flashing black and white, and then to color to color, and the whole process repeat all over again, is there any suggestion in solving this, or is there no way to solve this and i need to bring it to the apple support?

Sounds as if you're having a problem with your GPU (graphics card). Only Apple can diagnose and fix this, so the best thing would be to take your machine into your local Apple Store or an AASP.

  • MacBook Pro Blank Screen (Built - in & External) - continued

This thread is a continuation of [MacBook Pro Blank Screen (Built - in & External)|http://discussions.apple.com/thread.jspa?threadID=1478474]. The thread was getting too long and some browsers were timing out.
    Thank you,
    Apple Discussions Staff

I brought mine into the Apple Store last night. I had not left it for service last time as I had not cleared it of some confidential client data. This time, I encountered a much more knowledgeable Genius who seemed to have heard of the Nvidia problem.
So, my MBPro is on its way to the depot. It will apparently be $310 total, flat fee, supposedly ready within a week.
I do expect Apple will do the right thing eventually and extend warranties for the defective Nvidia subsystem. However, I can't wait until they do. I need my Macbook Pro to be functional.
    Again, my strong advice...
*At the first hint you are getting this problem, turn on screen sharing.*
If you have this specific Nvidia problem, you will still be able to access the machine remotely, which can be incredibly valuable in terms of saving data before you send it for repair. When you hand it over, you will initial a statement saying you have backed up your data and Apple is not responsible if the machine is wiped during repairs. Set up screen sharing so you can operate the machine during the Nvidia failure.

  • Macbook pro as [MacBook Pro Blank Screen ] with voided Warranty ?

I have the same issue as told in this post.
MacBook Pro Blank Screen (Built - in & External)
However, I have manually replace my HDD to another. Since my HDD die before and want a bigger one. And I think my warranty have voided.
So does it include in the replacement program of the logic board with free of charge ?
Will apple help me do the replacement if I'm able to charge that fee even my warrany voided ?

It really doesn't make a bit of difference whether someone else had an experience similar to yours. It's still up to AppleCare to deal with it.
But you can certainly waste your time here for whatever you think you'll find. Good luck.
