I need my i Phone 3g it just shut off and will not turn on. help

Some one please help me; My 3g will not come on.

Please help - my phone shut down a few hours ago and will not turn back on....I am scared to reset (home and power button) because I do not want to loose any of my info, pictures, contacts, etc

first thing to do is plug it in and let it sit for a little while. if the battery was drained and you plug it in it will need to charge up a little bit before it will turn on.

If the battery died, then it won't turn back on. I'd plug it in to the wall charger, and leave it for a few minutes. If that doesn't work, take it back to Apple.

I was waiting for a youtube video to load up so i sat it down and when i picked it back up a few minutes later it wont do anything. I thought it mite be dead so i out it on the charger for atleast an hour and still nothing happening.

Have you tried a reset ? Press and hold both the sleep and home buttons for about 10 to 15 seconds, after which the Apple logo should appear - you won't lose any content, it's the iPad equivalent of a reboot. Happened to me once, about 6 months ago, and a reset got it working again.

Plug your device into the original charger & block in a wall outlet and leave it alone for a couple of hours. Then, while it is still plugged in, restart it by holding down the home button and the power button for 10-15 seconds until you see the Apple, then let go.

Plug it in to mains power for at least 15 minutes. If it doesn't automatically come on, try a Reset... press the home and sleep/lock buttons until you see the Apple logo, ignoring the slider. Takes about 5-15 secs of button holding and you won't lose any data or settings.
