I need my mouse pad to be replaced?

I accidently dropped my iPhone on my mousepad (me being the clutz I am), and it cracked...I want it replaced so that way it can look nice again. It works perfectly fine but I rather have it fixed then cracked.

Is there a question in there somewhere?

I assume you mean a wireless mouse.  It would be helpful  The hard surface of a desk is not so kind to it.   I use a square of fine black artist's felt and Hoover it now and then to keep the dust down.

  • Mouse pad for wireless mouse

Help!  I just bought a Mac computer (desk top) with a wireless mouse.  My desk has a plexiglass cover and the mouse is  really sluggish.  I probably need a mouse pad of some kind?  Would someone please recommend one?

Wireless vs. wired doesn't really matter, however, optical mice and smooth surfaces don't mix.  Nearly all mice on the market nowadays are optical (laser is a subset of optical) - I've seen one mechanical mouse on a semi-new machine in the past five years.
Really almost anything that is not a smooth surface will do.  I've used sheets of paper in the past, although on my main desk I have a mouse "pad" that consists of a plastic base with a rubberized anti-slip material below it and a patterned surface on top.  I don't see anything similar listed on BBY's site though.
Carpeting/cloth materials are usually not so hot though - they tend to catch the rubber surface.
There are various products from Razer in BBY's mouse pad section, all of which should more than meet your needs.

To be specific. I have the imac late 2013 model, and i just bought the trackpad this October 2014. I have been using magic mouse without any problem. I just want to have a new experience with the trackpad.  Any time i on my imac, i will have a normal screen with my picture and a guest column at the center. I need to click either my picture or the guest in order to have the space where i can key in my password with the keyboard. But unfortunately, my trackpad will show that it is connected and the cursor will be moving in front of the screen if i touch the trackpad, but if i try to click, i will get no response. I have to put back batteries inside my magic mouse and then click on my picture if i want to log in with my id or i click on the guest image if i want to log in as a guest. it is only after this that my trackpad will start responding.
i want to use only trackpad for now so as to be more efficient with it. I don't want to be putting back batteries inside the magic mouse only to on my imac. I need a solution please.
    Thanks.

It sounds like you have assigned the primary click on the trackpad to something else, perhaps a gesture.
Use your mouse, login and then open the Trackpad preference pane and see how you have the interface configured.
Oh and you can have both the Magic Mouse and Magic Trackpad powered up and working at the same time. No need to keep moving batteries around.

  • I upgraded to Maverick and now my mouse pad works sporadically.  I need to reboot every 3-4 minutes.  How can I fix this?

Has anyone had the problem of their mouse pad working sporadically after downloading Maverick?  I need to "sleep" mine every 2-3 min to get it to work again.  Help

By "mouse pad" do you mean trackpad?

  • Problem with cq56 mouse pad

I purchased CQ56 laptop new in February 2011, for about 8 months now, the mouse pad is mostly inoperable, and the only operating portion of the mouse pad is about 20 percent of the actual pad located on the upper left hand side of the pad. is this a software or hardware flaw, can this be fixed with software or does it need replacement hardware, pc should still be under warranty.

    HaMsiK17,
Boot into safe mode and see if the problem is still happening.
    Turn off the computer.
As you power it back on tap the F8 key.
    Advanced boot options will load.
    Select safe mode with networking.
If it is not happening in safe mode you can perform a clean boot to determine which software is causing the problem.
Here is a link to show you how to perform a clean boot.
Let me know how everything goes.

  • Mouse pad is jumpy after some water dripped on it

I was having an iced drink yesterday when some of the condensation from the glass dripped on my mouse pad. My mouse started acting a bit erratically, and I wiped down the mousepad and continued to try to use it. I've had this happen plenty of times before, and after I'd wiped the mouse pad down, it'd return to normal. I didn't think this time would be any different. However the mouse started to act even more jumpy and erratic. I thought there was still some moisture left on the pad or something so I tried to wipe it down even more. The mouse was still jumpy after this, so I gave up and completely turned off my MacBook.
This morning I turned it on again, and the mouse seemed completely normal for about 15 seconds before it got jumpy again. It takes a lot of effort to move it where I want to, but I can still click on things.
I tried researching on this, and it seems most say to immediately turn it off. Unfortunately it wasn't until 15-20 min when I finally did. Is there no hope for my MacBook?

You're using the term 'mouse' but I'm assuming that you mean "trackpad"?
If so, I'm betting that some moisture seeped into and under the trackpad. If I were you, I would schedule an appointment with your local Apple Store or an AASP and have them make a diagnosis... it's quite possible that your trackpad will need replacing. Just hope that none of the moisture made it's way to the logic board.
    Good luck,
    Clinton

  • Help! My Mouse pad is not working properly. The arrow cannot be controlled, it just keeps jumping all over the page. How can I stop this?

Help! My Mouse pad is not working properly. The arrow cannot be controlled, it just keeps jumping all over the page. How can I stop this?

There are several possible causes for this issue. Please take each of the following steps that you haven't already tried until it's resolved. Some may not apply in your case.
    1. Follow the instructions in this support article, and also this one, if applicable. A damaged or defective AC adapter could be the cause, even if it's the right kind.
    2. Press down all four corners of the trackpad at once and release. If there's any effect, it's likely to be temporary, and in that case the unit must be serviced or replaced.
    3. Open the Bluetooth preference pane in System Preferences and delete all pointing devices other than the trackpad, if applicable. Disconnect any USB pointing devices. By a "pointing device," I mean a peripheral that moves the cursor, such as a trackpad, mouse, trackball, or graphics tablet. A plain keyboard is not a pointing device.
    4. Start up in safe mode and test, preferably without launching any third-party applications. If you don't have the problem in safe mode, but it comes back when you restart as usual, stop here and post your results. Do the same if you can't start in safe mode. If there was no difference in safe mode, go on to the next step.
    5. Reset the System Management Controller.
    6. If you're using a Bluetooth trackpad, investigate potential sources of interference, including USB 3 devices.
    7. A swollen battery in a portable computer can impinge on the trackpad from below and cause erratic behavior. If you have trouble clicking the trackpad, this is likely the reason. The battery must be replaced without delay.
    8. There's a report that a (possibly defective) Thunderbolt Ethernet adapter can cause the built-in trackpad of a MacBook to  behave erratically. If you're using such an adapter, disconnect it and test.
    9. There's also a report of erratic cursor movements caused by an external display that was connected but not turned on.
    10. If none of the above applies, or if you have another reason to think that your computer is being remotely controlled, remove it from the network by turning off Wi-Fi (or your Wi-Fi access point), disconnecting from a Bluetooth network link, and unplugging the Ethernet cable or USB modem, whichever is applicable. If the cursor movements stop at once, you should suspect an intrusion.
    11. Make a "Genius" appointment at an Apple Store to have the machine and/or external trackpad tested.

  • Do iMacs come with a mouse pad in the box?

I know, I know, this is a silly question. But I have a glass computer desk and mice do not work on it without a mouse pad. I just wanted to know if I need to pick up one so I'm not running to wal mart so I can set up my computer when it gets here.

No, there is no mouse pad in the box. Can't you use the one you used previously?

  • Mouse pad Freezes

I bought the HP probook G1 450 less than a year ago, and i have a problem with the mouse pad , as it sometimes freeze (only moving really slowly but in one line , doesn't go up or down).
i read online some ppl have had the same issue with windows 8.1 (after the update), and the solution is to connect an external mouse , remove the device installation and re-install so you get the last update (as its un-detectable when its the same version but with a slight difference ),i did all the steps correctly and 80% of the time its working perfectly , but then what i explained before happens, and i need to put it to sleep or just hibernate to get back up running ,Of course when am using external mouse, its working perfectly  ....

Hi AJ 1) Have you tried to uninstalling the Driver from device manager.2) Update the Latest Bios from HP website.3) Have you tried performing the system restore to the date where unit was working fine.

  • Do I need a mouse?

I am about to buy my first MacBook online from Apple?  Do I need a mouse, or is the trackpad really so good that I won't need a mouse?
    Thanks!

I have had MBP's since about 2006, the track pad is fine for almost everything, it actually ismore cinvienient than a mouse for most things, there is a small learing curve, but it is easy. I use a mouse vary rarely now,and have not missed it at all, it usually for the rare occasion to plat a game, which I find a little difficult with the track pad.
Do you ned one, no, will you prefer one, that is for you to decide. Give it a fair chance to get used to it, as you can also customize the "gestures to your tastes"
But you can always get a mouse, and you can use both at the same time, or not, your choice.
Also learning some of the more common keyboard shrtcuts is even easier and faster than either.

  • New Bluetooth Mightymouse goes crazy on certain mouse pads

I just bought a new wireless Mightmouse from Amazon UK and started using it, only to discover that it goes crazy when placed on certain mouse pads. The cursor starts moving all over the screen if I even place the mouse on the pad without moving it. I have three mouse pads here and only one can be used (it has a plastic cover). The other two, a thin one and a thicker, rubbery one (both cloth covered) cause the mouse to get a life of its own. A plain white desktop works ok, too, but in some cases I need to use a mouse pad, for example, when working on a garden table that has slits.
I tried it with all wireless stuff off (airport unplugged, etc.), but still the same. From what I have seen posted here, there seem to be some odd problems with this mouse. I wonder if I should return it? Could it be a hardware problem? Or maybe a software problem?
(This is on a new Macbook Pro 17inch.)

    Hello Apple:
    Welcome to Apple discussions.
I would return it. There is no reason that the mouse would be +"pad sensitive."+ I have found that the optical mice do need a pad to work well.

  • Mouse pad wont work after windows 7 install. Can't find driver. Please help

Hello, I just installed a clean version of windows 7 on a friends thinkpad model 4446.  After first mouse pad worked but after a few reboots some how they stopped.  In device manager I get an error in the base system device under other devices. I haven having trouble finding the correct driver needed.  Any help is most appreciated.

    Arghs!
It is a Lenovo G530 (Type 4446) but not Thinkpad G40, G41 or G50 - sorry, it was my error.
But the Ultranav has to work out of the box with Windows native drivers.
There is no G530 Ultranav driver from Lenovo available.  With luck you can try the Vista driver
    - driver
    - readme with installation instructions
But the base system device still should be installed well with Windows update - see "Optional updates".

  • What mouse pad size works best?  I'm new to Illustrator.

What mouse pad size do you like to use for graphic design and Illustrator?  I'm new to Illustrator! Thanks~

99% laptop and mouse with firms I worked for, but never with mouse pad.....however I just started using an optical mouse with my laptop for my AI + PS work and need pad for mouse to work.
I know the typical compact size is restrictive for me, but I think a 12" x 14" (called standard) will be fine.  I know the answer to many of these questions is it depends :-).  But that's great info for me, too!

  • Satellite C660 - Mouse pad constant click

    Hi,
The mousepad on one of our C660 laptops is acting almost like the mouse pad is constantly being tapped.
If you hover over an icon it'll open that file several times.
If i disable it and plug in a USB mouse the issue stops.
    I've tried:
    scanning for malware
    disabling/reenabling
    uninstalling/installing
    system restore
    driver update
    Nothing helps.
I dont know whether this is related or not but i cant get any network connectivity either.
Connects happily to wireless but thats where it ends..
    any advice!?

    Hi
I think its touchpad related setting.
Go to control panel -> mouse -> Last tab (Advanced) -> Advanced feature setting button
Here you can see the area: Delay after last key is hit. Try to set this to LONG
Furthermore in Pointer speed and tapping settings click on Setting button.
Here I recommend changing the touch sensitivity level to LOW
Last but not lease you can also disable the tapping. In such case you will need to use the left touchpad button to click in the icons..
