I need new video card drivers

I have problems with a few games that have. Dead Space 2, Fable 3, and Borderlands have graphical glitches that i tried to fix myself, but to not success. i tried to change the settings on the them and tried patching them to the latch version. I also tried to update the drivers from Ati's website, but when i tried to install them, it states that my video card is incompatible with it. I have the Ati Mobility Radeon HD 6550 on the HP dv7-4280us. Any help on this situiation will be greatly appreciated.

  • G4 MDD Dual 1.25 - Aperture 2  - Do I need newer Video Card to run the app?

I am hoping someone can help steer me in the right direction. I spent all morning reading about Aperture 2, decided I must have it, downloaded the trial version and THEN found out my computer will not run it. When I try to install it, it says that I don't meet the minimum requirements but doesn't specify exactly what the problem is. The Aperture minimum requirements are confusing to me in that it says Power Mac G5 with Intel processor, BUT it says you can have a G4 Powerbook with a 1.25 GHz processor. My Powermac G4 has a 1.25 processor. Not sure if that is the problem or if it's my video card which is the standard ATI Radeon 9000 Pro. If I replace my video card will I be able to run Aperture 2? If so, which ones would be compatible with my older Mac? — Thanks, mark

  • Need New Video Cards for 4 Displays

    Hi,
I want to install 4 displays, with one being a 30". Will the Radeon 9200 PCI, and 9600 pro work for this?
I saw that 9600pro only boots in "safe mode" but that's the only AGP card I can find that will run the 30".
Are there any PCI cards with two DVI ports?
    Thanks

    Hi-
Wouldn't getting the 9600 and a 9200 be the most cost effective?
Need two 9200's and one 9600 to connect 4 DVI displays. At around $400, it would be the cheapest. The 9200, though, will have minimal graphics acceleration and no Core Image support. Quartz Extreme is also not supported, unless hacked. Either the hack, or the lack of CI or QE support may affect software performance negatively.
Depending on the distance from the source computer, a signal booster may be required. 5 meters is the maximum a DVI signal can travel, but lesser powered cards may have difficulty at 10 feet (or less). If a booster were needed, a 9600 and a splitter would be better.
Wouldn't the splitter just mirror the output?
The splitter mirrors the output of the primary display +on the splitter+, not necessarily the card.
When you say "better" what do you mean? I won't be doing much 3D stuff and no gaming.
The linked cards support Core Image, Quartz Extreme, 30" ACD, and have power enough to send clean DVI signal farther.
Plus I can't find it new which is how I would prefer to buy it.
The Flashed PC cards are new. Because of the fact that they have been installed in a machine to flash the Mac ROM to them, eBay rules require that the card be listed as used.
New card prices are scary. See prices here.
    Slightly lower prices here.

  • I need a new video card any suggestions?

Okay people I am in the market for a new video card and I need to choose between ATI and Nvidia. I plan to get either something in the X800 series or in the 6800 series. My budget is $400.

I cant complain with mine. I got it on sale for 245$ @ Compusa.  Its quiet, never goes above 63C(? I havent seen it that high anyhow).  However there is that problem with the vpu( full cpu usage or something when watching some media formats???). I would go X800 if you want to spend it all, or 6600gt AGP and something else like an mP3 player.

  • New video card for HP Pavillion Elite HPE-170t

Hi, I'm starting to get some screen artifacts sporadically, Ithink my video card is starting to go bad. i want to get a new one, but I am not sure what will fit. My computer  HP Pavillion Elite HPE-170t:
    Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-860 quad-core processor [2.8GHz, 1MB L2 + 8MB shared L3 cache]
    8GB DDR3-1333MHz SDRAM
    1TB 7200 rpm SATA 3Gb/s hard drive
1GB ATI Radeon HD 4850 [2 DVI, HDMI and VGA adapters]
    Lightscribe SuperMulti DVD burner
15-in-1 memory card reader, 1 USB, 1394, audio
    No TV Tuner
    Creative Sound Blaster X-Fi Titanium
I see by some other questions here several video cards suggested, but those replies were a few years old and those video cards are no longer available.
So, any suggestions on newer video cards under $200 that will pretty much fit and work as easily as possible? Thanks!
    This question was solved.

Thanks for the quick reply.  I don't have another monitor to try, but the artifacts seem to sometimes move along with the mouse cursor. Sometimes I can scrill the artifacts away, other times the screen freezes.
I do have room for a double width card,  but I was looking at the XFX R7 250E 800MHz 1GB DDR5 DP HDMI DVI Graphics Card, which seems to be a newer model of the XFX AMD Radeon HD 7750 1GB GDDR5 . Both are single wide and don't need an extra power connection.

What do you think of these cards?

  • [VIA] Do I need a video card to make this MB run?

My MSI KM4M-V arrived today. It replaced a Shuttle motherboard I just could not make it show anything on the monitor.     I returned it as defective.  Well, I just installed my MSI and darn it, the same thing is happening.  Nothing shows on the monitor.
My son said I need a video card.  It has a monitor connection sticking out the back, so I assumed it came equipped to run a monitor.
Now, I'm not a pro at these things, but I followed the installation book to a tee.  And since is the second motherboard that has performed this way, I think it must me something I am doing wrong.   But what can it be?
I am assuming I can hook it right in and it wil run my old hard drive like they came together.  Am I wrong?  Must I format the drive and  run the software?     I can't load rhe software fi I can't see the monitor.
When pluged in and unconnected my monitor flashes a blue and white "please check video cable connection" message.  When I connect it to the MSI motherboard the flash stops.  So something is working.
Any suggestions and advice will be greatly appreciated.  My computer is devoted to genealogy and it's ben down for 2 months and I am very anxious to get it tuning again.

Save this reading till the power and beeps from Wonkanoby have been resolved. I think "used" is a relative thing...
No, if you plugged everything in while power was off it is alright.
Now comes the processor part, which one it was. This motherboard can hold most, but XP3000 and XP3200.
It is getting a bit late here, so I want to prepare you for some other things that might come up:
The seating of the processor is very important. This is best done while the motherboard is out of the case.
Between the motherboard and the case there are stand-offs. Too many is a bigger problem than too few.
You might even have to test-run the motherboard out of the case, to eliminate the risk of shorts.
What memory do you have? Stick of RAM, that is. Model and speed, please.
Off topic: I didn't know either, Wonkanoby, you used a 500W in a Shuttle - half should suffice. A new one for you, maybe: Too big a PSU. But it is one overstated, again: http://www.amamax.com/pomaxceb5020.html "+3.3V-24A, +5V-36A, +12V-16A"

  • MS-6714 trying to install new video card

Well, I have done everything I can think of short of sledgehammering my computer into oblivion.  Just bought this comp it is a 2.8 celeron using the 6714.  Thought I could just stick a new video card in.  It recogzines the video card, but will not use it.  Even when I disable the on board through the device manager.  It just uses generic vga drivers.  Any clue how I can get this card to be used?

    Hi,
    Which 6714 are you using???
    Check link:

    Also,
1)have you disabled the ONBOARD graphics in the BIOS???
2)which video card you trying to install and which version of drivers?
3)what PSU do you have and model number?

  • Video Card Upgradeable and Video card drivers?????

Hello apple community. I frequently use my intel 20" imac for games by using Bootcamp (IT OWNS!!!!) to switch to Windows XP. I have been running Steam games with about 40-50 fps on all high settings except anti aliasing is set at x8 CSAA instead of the max, x16 CSAA. I know my graphics card can get more frames than x8. I blame the drivers. Where can I find good ATI drivers?
Also, I want a new video card, but is it possible to upgrade your video card on the imac? is it really soldered on to the motherboard????

Are there any news or updates to this? I'm thinking of buying the 24" iMac which sports an ATI HD 2600 Pro video card, but as AMD/ATI has revealed, they will be releasing the HD 3850 and 3870 in mobile versions soon and so I wonder if iMac will get an upgrade to these in stock or if I can do an upgrade myself after I buy it, or while I configure it in the Apple Store (or at a local Apple retailer).
I currently have a home-built PC and use it mostly for casual gaming, programming and graphical stuff (Adobe, typically). I'd love to have an iMac to do all of these things on, but the video card is currently a bit behind in terms of raw performance; otherwise the 24" iMac is a great machine. So I'd love to upgrade the video card, however it's possible (if it is), or at least get an indication of when the HD 2600 will be replaced with a HD 3870 or 3850. Does anyone know?

  • Video card drivers location?

Hello. I have a pop up message when trying to run Firestorm virtual world client in Windows 7 (in Boot Camp on new MacBook Pro).
It says that the 'video card drivers did not install properly'
So i opened device manager and scrooled down the list and no 'video card' listed on menu but everything is all up to date except Other Device - Coprocessor and SM Bus Controller.
Right clicked to update these but no fix found online :-(
Could this be the problem though?
Or does some windows only application not run on a Mac even in Boot Camp?
    Thanks.

If you have a new Mac you also have Lion, or Mountain Lion. This means you do not have a disk, because there isn't one. Go back to Boot Camp, try again, the servers are notoriously erratic, be patient.

Did you find solution to your problem ^

  • BIOS And new Video card

So i am buying a new video card MSI GTX 970 and my PC is an h9-1300ex so i was wondring if i need to update bios or anything.
    Thanks.

Hi, Your PC should be able to run the GTX 970. Open up your PC and check the auxiliary PCI-E power connectors and make sure that your PC has the correct plugs based one the GTX 970 model that you plan on using.

  • Help - Need OpenGL Video Card for G4 with ADC

OK, I've got a G4 with 1.8 GHz Dual Processors. I just upgraded from FCP 5.1 to FCP 6.0 and it tells me that FCP 6.0 doesn't like my video card because it "doesn't support OpenGL." So I need a new video card - problem is, my G4 Quicksilver utilizes an Apple Flat Screen with ADC connector. I really like the Studio Display and don't want to change it. Does anyone know of a video card with "OpenGL" (that will work with FCP 6.0) that also has a ADC connector????
    Thanks, Gilbert

As far as I'm aware, the Radeon 9000 is ATI's most powerful card with an ADC connector and the GeForce4 Titanium is nVidia's, although I don't think either supports Tiger's Core Image etc.
The following utility can monitor VRAM usage, which may help decide whether the 128MB version of the 9000 would be noticeably better:

  • My new video card shows me a small grey artifact at the bottom edge of the white screen at startup.

2 months ago I needed a new internal hard drive and a new video card.  For the past months my white start-up screen shows me a small grey artifact that looks somewhat like a floppy disk.  There are other small odd shaped artifacts around the lower corners of the start-up screen.  Should I return my computer to the Apple repair/dealer to replace the video card?

  • Desktop frozen on startup after installing new video card. Please help!

Recently we upgraded my computers graphics card to a Gigabyte Geforce GTX650 and we have also upgraded the power supply to an EX2 525W power supply. When we plug the PCIE into the video card and enable the slot the screen goes to the standard startup screen and says press escape for startup menu but then freezes there. We have tried updating the BIOS and we have made sure that all the connections were secure. If we try having the video card plugged in and run the onboard graphics the computer will beep several times and there will be no screen output.

I understand a new video card isn't working as expected.
What is the product number and model of the PC? The following document details how to find this information should you need it.

  • Add a New Video Card to K7N2G

I've added a new video card to my K7N2G, an ATI Radeon 9700 and it's working, but there seems to be lag when I'm moving between my applications. Do I need to disable my onboard card? If so How do I do it, does anybody know?

    Thanks Wonkanoby !!!!
Moved from slot 1 to 2, IRQ changed to 16.:D Happy Days :D  are here again. I've been agonizing over this for a few days now. While in my IRQ settings I noticed That my Standard Open HCD USB Host Controller is sharing IRQ 21 with NVIDIA NFORCE MCP Network. Does this have to be addressed also?
