Does anyone know where I can find recovery disks for my HP Pavilion DV 9500 Windows Vista home premium?? According to HP, disk pn is 446537-004.

Excuse me for not understanding the solution so well....
So I need to purchase an OS for my computer - like windows 7 ??
And I need to download drivers from hp.com - there is a long list of drivers and they are dependent on the operating system - which ones do i need (all??) and supposedly I need to get a new operating system first??
Could I try to just reload drivers before purchasing a new OS - is that possible ?? maybe it is a driver problem and not an OS problem ?? If this is possible, how do I determine which drivers to download and what order to try to install them??

Hi:
If you live in the USA/Canada, call HP at this number. This is a new number to order disks from so you'll have to choose the menu that makes the most sense.
You will need to provide the model # and serial # to get the disks. Cost is $10.

Please post back and let me know what you need to do to navigate to how to actually get to order the disks.
If you don't live in the USA/Canada, call HP support for the country you live in at the link below. If they have a separate number for Business PC's/Notebooks, call that number.

Have the serial number ready to give to the customer services rep.
If your notebook is still under warranty, the disks will be sent free of charge.

Hi,
on official ways it's not possible to get a recovery disk in another language. You can only try to find somebody, who has an english version of the M300.
You can also build up the system by yourself with an english Microsoft Windows CD. The needed drivers and programs can be downloaded from Toshiba's site.

Recovery Disk for HP Pavilion dm4-2181nr Entertainment Notebook PC

I have a HP Pavilion dm4-2181nr Entertainment Notebook PC and need to get it restored back to windows 7 after upgrade to windows 8.
I have tried the F11 system restore option at boot but it says a boot file is missing, so that is not working.
I am in search of the recovery disk for this system module as i did not create a back up recovery disk before the upgrade.
Does anyone have this and is willing to upload online so i get it, or of there is a way to get this done.

Alternatively, you may try setting the HP recovery partition as "Active" using the Windows "Disk Management" console and then rebooting the computer.

Blue screen with error code and I have no recovery disks for HP Pavilion dv6-1260se

I have a HP Pavilion dv6-1260se with factory installed operating system of Vista. When booting up the computer, I receive a blue screen with this error message: STOP: c000021a {Fatal System Error}.
                                                            The verification of a KnownDLL failed. system process terminated unexpectedly with
                                                             a status of 0x0000221 (0x007fb9c0 0x00000000).
                                                             The system has been shut down.
I do not have recovery disks for this computer. I tried to order them but them seem to not be available. This is my daughter's computer. She says she started to have trouble after downloading Frost Wire (music share) and then she removed it. We tried going back to an earlier time and that didn't help and then the blue screen with error message appeared. What do I do now?

Hi,
Assuming your in the US, recovery discs are available to order for that model here. That may be the best option.
You should also be able to do a recovery without the discs as well. Take a look at this document: Recover Windows Vista Operating System Using HP Recovery, and look for the section Restore the PC to its original condition with the HP Recovery Manager if Windows Vista is not accessible. This should allow you to recover the PC.

I am needing the recovery disks for a Satellite 2445-S305. I know this is an old one but still serves its purpose. I just tried to reload back to factory with my disks but they are in bad shape and not working! I hope someone can help me out. I own the laptop and it has the COA for XP home and I have the original disks. I can offer proof that I am not trying to scam and get the OS for free. Reason for going back to factory is that when I load XP PRO the device manager show one "unknown device" and I can not solve this. I have run across this before in the past and found a solution but I do not remember what it took to solve. Thanks for any help!

I need a windows recovery disk for my presario CQ71-203EF

I purchased in Reunion Island (French Territory) but now live in Palau (US Territory). I had a shop upgrade from Vista to 7 but I didn't know they installed non-genuine version 7. I functions poorly and I just want to restore. I no longer live in country where the pirate copy was installed, so can't go back to get fixed (if possible). I believe the recovery in the machine is no longer available as overwritten by pirate version 7. I think I need recovery disk. I tried to buy on French HP site where model is recognised but they only send to France. Model is not recognised on US site. If you have the product key from the CA sticker on the bottom of the notebook, you can download a legal copy of a windows 7 install disc, this will get windows installed, but not the HP drivers and software. Drivers and some software can be found on the HP website.

Creating a recovery disk for windows 8

need to create a recovery disk for windows 8, on HP Pavilion g6-2238dx Notebook PC...getting error message because I unintentionally deleted part of the program... now it won't boot up... I get to a message that says...Windows restarted Unexpectedly or encountered an unexpected error. Windows install cannot proceed, click ok . When I do that the program restarts... it repeats the process over and over... Any Suggestions?

Try tapping away at the F11 key immediately after powering on the laptop to get into HP Recovery Manager which can be used to do a System Recovery back to Factory settings.
