I NEED RECOVERY DISKS HP PAVILION DV6-6170SE ???/

HOW CAN I GET RECOVERY DISKS

Hi,
You can order a replacement set of Recovery Discs using the link below.
http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/document?docname=c00810334&cc=us&lc=en&dlc=en
If you have any problem with this link, order them directly from HP.
If you live in the US, contact HP Here.
If you are in another part of the world, start Here.
If you have problems getting a set of Recovery Discs, there is a work around if you have ( or can borrow ) a retail Windows 7 installation disc that is exactly the same version as your OEM installation - ie if your notebook came with Windows 7 Home Premium 64bit this is the exact retail version you would need.
Use the retail disc to perform the installation, enter the Windows activation key found on the underside of your notebook when requested and when the installation has completed, use the 'Phone Method' detailed in the link below to activate the OS - this method supported by Microsoft and is popular with people who just want a clean installation of Windows 7 without the additional software load normally bundled with OEM installations.

Any additional drivers you may need can be found Here.

I need recovery for laptop Pavilion dv6-1235ee , I need the link for the recovery or send recovery cd to my mail

If you have the recovery partition intact on your notebook, you can just press F11 during boot and it will take you to the recovery mode. Just follow the instructions to perform a recovery and it will reset your notebook back to the factory settings.
In case you do not have the recovery partiion, I would advise you to go through the following document which will help you resolve the issue:

    Hi:
If you live in the USA/Canada, call HP at this number. This is a new number to order disks from so you'll have to choose the menu that makes the most sense.
You will need to provide the model # and serial # to get the disks. Cost is $10.
    1-800-334-5144
Please post back and let me know what you need to do to navigate to how to actually get to order the disks.
If you don't live in the USA/Canada, call HP support for the country you live in at the link below. If they have a separate number for Business PC's/Notebooks, call that number.

  • Need Recovery Disks - Please Help!

    Hello,
I need the recovery disks for my "Lenovo 3000 N200" laptop as I can not create the disks myself. Problem is, when I tried to call Lenovo for the disks and pressed 2 for the 3000 support, "it didn't recognize my choice". I really need these disks as my whole laptop system is screwed up from installing Ubuntu as a partition. I have had a lot of help and it has led me to get these disks but even that is proving difficult.
Does anybody know of any other way to get these disks?
    Thanks in advance,
    Jack

  • I need recovery disks

Hi, had problems with my laptop running bad and all kinds of problems. I decided to re-install the software back to the factory setup when I purchased the laptop. I have a new set of recovery disks I got from HP back then and I had never used them. I started the recovery and the first disk formatted the hard drive and installed software, and then it asked for disk number two. I loaded the second disk and the program carried on for a short while then informed me that there is an error and the setup was cancelled by the program itself. I tried many times over, but the same problem happen, now I am without a working computer. I am in need of software to recover my laptop, if you please can advise.

Run hardware diagnostics from the BIOS to confirm that everything is still OK.
Try cleaning the DVDs if it helps any:
    http://www.wikihow.com/Clean-a-DVD
In the event that your recovery partitions is intact, repeatedly tap the F11 key at boot to get into recovery manager if it still works.
If is possible that the recovery disks you have are corrupt and you will have to order new ones.
If you live in the USA/Canada, call HP at this number 1-800-334-5144, and see if you can still get a set of recovery disks.  Otherwise the WorldWide site:  http://welcome.hp.com/country/w1/en/support.html

  • Recovery disks hp pavilion dv4 1147cl

I have a hp pavilion dv4 1147cl  and everytime I attmept to make the recovery disks it stops at 3% and states that the process was terminated and will restart from the termination point when the computer is restarted.  However, it never restarts from that point but rather starts all over again and again terminates at 3% with the same message.  It is like groundhog day.
Can someone tell me what I can do to make a set of recovery disks and work around this problem?
    Thanks!

    Hello Busterbrown92,
I see that you are having problems with the recovery disc creation on your HP computer.
I would suggest contacting HP support and telling them what is happening so that you can get some options for recovery media.

  • Installing Seagate st1000LM014 SSHD disk on pavilion dv6-6b30sw

    Hi
One week ago I dropped my laptop and after this I have had a bad sectors on my disk. My boss bought me the Seagate ST1000LM014 SSHD 1TB hybrid disk. But when I mount it in my latop pavilion dv6-6b30sw I want to install a Win 7 and OS do not see any disk. I've tried to instal some drivers e.g. Seagate Hard Drive Firmware Update (by bootable USB stick) from www.hp.com, but still is the same problem.
Tests from BIOS said is ok, my BIOS is very poor. I even used (which is not necessary) a jumper to reduce the SATA 6Gb, but this did not help.
    Any ideas??
    Thank You for your help

    Hi:
See if this works for you...
Download the drivers from this link below (first or second file listed -- 32 or 64 bit as applicable).
    https://downloadcenter.intel.com/Detail_Desc.aspx?agr=Y&ProdId=2101&DwnldID=23060&keyword=Intel+Rapi...
Extract the files onto a usb flash drive.
With the flash drive and W7 installation media plugged into the machine, boot from the W7 installation media.
After you select the install now option, select the Drive Options - Advanced menu, then select the Load Driver option.
You should now see the storage driver files listed.
If you check the box, it will only include the compatible driver.
Follow the prompts and hopefully, W7 should install.
Also, since you have a hybrid drive, I recommend you read this article about how to get W7 to work to its maximum efficiency on a hybrid drive.

  • Hdd in new laptop, need recovery disks?

I replaced my hdd from another HP laptop I had. It works, boots up properly except the USB ports, wifi and cd's are all diconnected from the hdd. Will recovery disks(I have none) fix this issue?

We need the model of the laptop and the Windows version you installed. Likely you just need drivers and they can be downloaded here. However, we need the model of the laptop and Windows version to tell which drivers you need.

  • Satellite A300 - Need recovery disk 2

    Hii
Does anyone have the recovery disk 2 for A300? I have disk 1 but missing disk 2 :(
Hope someone can help me or send me a link from where i can download the disk 2
    Thankyou

    Hi
Sorry but recovery image cannot be downloaded and if you want to use recovery image you must order it.
One more thing: Satellite A300 is nice notebook and runs perfectly with Win7 so I recommend you to use Win7 and not Vista.
To avoid recovery disc order, obtain Microsoft installation disc and install Win7. Im pretty sure you will be satisfied with it.

  • Satellite P10: Need recovery disk after HDD crash

I've got a Toshiba p10 and the HD has crashed. I've had this machine for 2 years, but I bought it 2nd hand, therefore I don't have any system disks.
Where can I get a system recovery disk and is it true that the recovery disk will only work if I install the same size HD? The existing drive is 30g and I'd like to install a 40g drive instead.
Thanks for any help you can offer.

    Hi
No its not true. You can use a different HDD sizes and the recovery CD has nothing to do with HDD compatibility.
You should only be sure that the notebook and BIOS will recognize the new HDD size but I think the 40GB are supported on this notebook.
So if you put a new HDD into the notebook you have only to boot up from the CD drive.
In my knowledge the recovery CD and every supported and compatible device you can purchase from the Toshiba service partner in your country.
I found the link on the Toshiba support page so I recommend visiting this site.
    Good luck
