I need SEARCH capability for my website

OK, I've got a small site (10 pages) built with basic html
pages in Dreamwever. I need SITE SEARCH capability, but I'm really
not sure where to begin. I know this, having a search box with
Google branded on it would not be cool. I need a custom look to the
search interface. The remote ISP has PHP and MySQL. I also have
ColdFusion, but I don't want to pay the extra fee charged by the
Host to use it. Can someone tell me where I can get basic tutoring
online to help me better understand the basics of dynamic sites

before diving in. Your server host should offer some info for

Better Search Capability For Eclipse?

Hello,
I don't like the Eclipse search functionality because it doesn't show you any text results when you run a search. In some IDE's, you can search on a term, and then a snippt of the text containing the term shows up next to the search results (JCreator, J++, Textpad). Sometimes this is critical for me to scan a large search resultset all at once to find a problem or determine what files I need to edit. With the basic Eclipse 3.1 search engine, you have to open each file individually to see the context of the text containing the search terms.
Does any know if there is a plugin for Eclipse that offers an improved search capability? Or is there an easier way to accomplish what I want?

Eclipse provides functionality to find file
containing searched text: select menu item 'Search',
then select 'File...' item and enter searched text.That is the worst response I have ever read on this forum, bar none. Did you even read my question? I just said that I DON'T LIKE the way Eclipse displays the search results when you use Search | File or Search | Java. Why are you telling me to do the very same thing I am saying I don't like? I want a plug-in that shows me a different view of the results than just a list of files that contain them. I want to see a text snippet of the line containing the search text next to my results so I can glance at the search results and determine whether I even need to open the file. Other IDE's do this. Please read the questions more carefully next time before posting responses like this. Anyone else?

Need antispam script for my website guestbook entries... recommendations?

My guestbook on my website got so slammed by spambots that i had to take it offline. I would like to get one of those scripts where the person has to fill in what they see in a box (letters, numbers, etc) in order to make an entry into my guestbook. My web designers says that i need to find a script for this. Any recommendations? I don't even know what these scripts are called, making them hard to look for!
He does the website work in Dreamweaver in Tiger, if that makes any difference. This is a guestbook that forwards entries to me as emails (they are not diplayed on the site)

It's not until the user chooses to play a movie will it begin downloading / streaming it from the server. Even if the video is a large file, internet users are use to this type of scenario where they choose to play a movie, ala youtube and others, that if their connections are slow there may be delays in video playback. With all that said, I have seen and used page loaders where visitors will be expecting to wait a while for a result to happen, I just don't think this scenario warrants it.

Need search help for Profit centre

Hi all,
I am struggling to facilitate profit centres in SRM. I am quite close to it. I have done some config changes and could get the profit centre option in web browser under cost assignment. The POs are going through in R/3.
BUT the searchhelp is not available in the web browser in the next field "Assigned to". There are different search helps available in the program LBBP_PDH_ACCF32 for different account assignment categories but not for profit centre.
Let me know if there is some search help available somewhere in SRM for profit centre.

Hi. Profit centres, like cost centres, doen't exist on SRM as an entity. What the system does for cost centres is it holds a key to which system this exists on (eg the logical system name for R3). When you search for cost centres on the account assignement screen the system runs a search help on the R3 backend.
My guess is that you would need to configure the system to act the same as with cost centres and run the search help for profit centres on teh R3 backend.

I need a preloader for my website

Hi Experts.
Can someone point me to good tutorials and/or instruction videos that solve the following problem?
I am building a website that will have many images and several movies created in my CAD software as ".avi" files, then re-saved as Quicktime ".mov" files. The largest movie is 60.8KB. They will be located on more than one page on the site.

I need a preloader that runs automatically as my site splash page opens, and loads all that stuff while displaying a progress indicator of some sort.
I also need tips on whether the best strategy is to use CSS, Action Script, or some other coding that will work for most browsers and does not subvert optimization or do other mysterious bad things.

Search Bar for internal website

I'm using Adobe Muse to create an internal company website. I am wondering if there is a way to insert a search bar to the site. I've tried using Google's custom search bar to create the html but it doesn't work since the website isn't a live .com website. It is hosted on our company drive just as a .html link since it is internal and can only be accessed from our office.
I talk to support on livechat and he said "The option you looking for you may try to implement using some custom codes. I am afraid, within Muse, we do not have option to create search bar. Unfortunately, HTML / CSS / JavaScript and Site implementation related issues are outside the scope of our support boundaries. However, you may like to post this on our support forums as well, where a member of our helpful community may be able to assist."
Has anyone come across this or figured out a way to include a working search bar for an itnernal site?

Yes, currently site search is not included in native Muse and as your site is not live on web , Google custom search bar wont work.
So, the idea would be to create a web application with the site contents and then integrate the web application on a new page and place it on same location where the site is uploaded and then link that page with your site. In the application that you would create should include all the contents used in your site.
This would require complete customization on your end. So I would suggest to contact some expert who can do this for you ,if you are not comfortable with custom coding.

Search capability for all information?

From what I understand, there are three types of search capabilities in Oracle Portal:
1. interMedia Text searching in Oracle Portal available for content areas only.
2. Oracle Portal Navigator for searches on Oracle Portal pages.
3. Oracle Portal Search portlet for searches on applications (and content areas)
How do you do one search for all three types of information (content areas, portal pages, and applications)?
Our customer would like one place to search for all information on the Oracle Portal website. This would include documents in the Content Library, web pages, and data contained in tables that are populated by forms.

A way to do a small search engine for company website?

I am developing a website for a small to mid-size company. In the main page, there is going to have a search form. Anyone can trype in sth, server will search all the information in the server, then show any related information.
What is the best way to do it?
I am thinking useing:
1. javaApplet(java) + MS access
2. servlet + MS Access
are these methods ok? Any code or example for reference?

A few questions for you, should you decide to continue along your own implementation path.
You mentioned using MS Access and Java. Does this mean you have free access to the server you are implementing this on? Most of the code required for Java on the web requires a less industry standard solution than that provided by typical hosting companies.
Just on a side note, if you are running your own box, I would suggest using something besides MS Access. In my experience, the driver support for access leaves something to be desired, although my experiments with it have grown a bit dusty.

I need a database for my website.

I want people to be able to come to my website and create an account or if they have an existing one login, then when they login I want it to take them to their own little file server on my server. So like they would have their own folder to upload files to or download files from.
I was thinking about setting up a MySQL database to do this, but I am not sure about how to go about in doing this.
If there is any other way of doing this, I am open for suggestions, just let me know.

Will people be able to login to the FTP server from my website and do everything through their browser?
Users could use web based ftp client or a 3rd party ftp client.
Have look at the sytem the following school uses.

Help needed: Search function for custom Repository Manager

i'm writing my own Repository Manager for EP 6.0 SP2 PL4.
I've serious problems getting the search function running. I'm using the 'new', Netweaver-based API.
I think, there are some general questions to answer:
- My Repository Manager exposes lots of custom
   properties to the system. I create the properties
   for example using following code:

    Is there any convention for the propertie's name?
    I think it has to be written in lowercase only?

   index shows all my custom properties in the 'Document
   Properties' area, but all uppercase chars are escaped
   somewhat. Is this OK?
- Trying to use the index above to search for particular
   resources in my repository by my custom properties
   fails all the time ('no docs found...'); searching for
   any system property works fine. What's the reason?
- How can I force the (Property-) search uses my
   custom namespace-manager's methods
   isQueryPropertyNameUnderstood() and
   getQueryBuilder()
   to perform a 'pure' property search by the repository
   manager? It seems that the TREX always handles the
   queries by itself, because my methods are never called.

I created a new manager and copied the classes exactly from the "simple" example and I see similar behavior. Actually, when I do this, folders are recursively copied, but not files. Again, browsing and viewing of files work fine. Again, I am not seeing any unexpected exceptions.
The only thing that changed were the names and namespaces. Nothing else at all was changed.
This makes me think I am missing some configuration somewhere or there is something special about the example project that the wizards are not creating. The only difference I see in the project file is an additional nature (com.tssap.selena.cmf.PatternNature), but I am not sure that is relevant.
Wow, I am really stumped.

Let me be more specific with what we need. We are currently using payment program RFFOUS_C for Accounts Payable to print checks. What we need now is a way to download the check data to a header and detail file in ACH format. Is there another payment program that we can use or otherwise what changes do I need to make to RFFOUS_C? We are using version 4.0B if that makes any difference.

Do you have a MobileMe account or an account with a 3rd party hosting server like HostExcellence.com or GoDaddy.com to publish the site to?
You can publish it to a folder on your hard drive to be able to view it locally as it would look online. BUT, you need a hosting server in order to publish it online.

We have an HP logic analyzer and a Tek 'scope that both have a GPIB
interface and a 'print' button. Does anybody know of anything I can hang on
the GPIB bus to capture the 'print' requests? I need the hardcopy printouts
so I can document the hardware and show the software guys how things work.
Any leads are appreciated,
