I need Skype credit to forward calls!?

So I have an unlimited subscription (paid for a year in full) and a Skype number (also paid for a year in full) and I have call forwarding setup to go to my mobile phone whenever I am logged off Skype. It's been working fine and under my "View Call History" it shows these calls with a Rate and Amount of 0.000, so all is well.
Problem is when I use the Windows 7 desktop client. Anytime I go into setting and do anything I always get this message when I hit save: "You need to have some Skype credit to forward calls to mobile or landlines."
I'm really confused by this message.

Hi, Susan..., and welcome to the Community,
The answer is yes: calls to your Skype account or Skype Number which you answer immediately, without forwarding the call, do not incur charges.  However, if you choose to forward the call onward to another mobile or fixed line number, Skype sees this as a new call for which credit or a subscription is required in order to cover the cost.

  • Have Unlimited World, but need Skype Credit for ca...

So I've checked and read and googled... I have the Unlimited World plan that covers China. From my understanding anyway. My account says Premium, which I read does not cover China. But I also have Unlimited World that does include China. When I go to the rates and click on China it shows the unlimited plan at the bottom. When I click it, it says I already have this plan and will be overlapping my current plan. I really need my subscription to work, otherwise I will cancel it, what's the point?

  • Need Skype Credit when I have a Subscription?

I just decided to try the world subscription for a month, as it's a free trial. When I logged in to Skype on my Windows 7 pc, I was only able to connect to the landline I was calling for a minute or two and then it cut me off, saying that I need to purchase Skype credit to continue. I had already gotten the confirmation that my subscription was active, and it works just fine on my tablet. I'm not sure what to do. Help please?

as far as i understand u...u can use ur subscription from ur tablet but not from ur pc
if i am correct, my question is...do u use the same internet provider on both devices?
if not, please check if the provider doesnt block voip calls

  • Skype credit & unlimited world calling

    Hi,
I've subscribed for unlimited world calling free month and it was working great.
However it seems my Skype credit have been charged for the same and my skype credit is null now. When u try to make call using unlimited world call I couldn't make a call as it says you don't have credit balance.
I was in an impression to subscribe for this once my free month gets over, but since it makes me think that Skype credit is charged for the free call I have hesitation to make the subscription.
Could you make me understand the below
    1. What's the difference between Skype credit and Skype subscription
    2. Say if I subscribe to UWC for $13.99 do I need to buy a Skype credit separately to make calls?
    Thank you in advance.
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

    1.  Skype credit can be used to place calls to phone numbers reachable by the Skype network.
Skype subscriptions can be used to place phone calls at no cost assuming the number being dialed is covered by the subscription and your usage of the subscription doesn't violate Skype's terms of use or fair usage policy.  If you dial a number not covered by the plan or exceed your allotted usage (if minute based), then credit will be consumed.   Additionally Skype subscriptions do not cover calls to premium, shared-cost or non geographic numbers.  Those will revert to credit if dialed.  Be aware that many unlimited plans do NOT include mobiles.  Dialing a mobile when you have a landline subscription will consume credit.
    2.  As long as you make calls covered by the subscription then no credit will be consumed nor is credit required.  You can have a subscription with a zero credit balance.  If you attempt to make a call that requires credit, you will not be able to place the call.  If you are unsure what is covered by your subscription you need to revisit the terms of your subscription or keep your balance at zero credit (Auto-recharged disabled) to not incur additional costs.
This FAQ covers what is covered by that subscription.  Pay close attention to the landline and mobile part.  You can also refer to the Skype rates page and look at the pay as you go rates.  If an area code is listed as premium or shared cost for the country you are calling, it will not be covered by the subscription and it will request credit.

  • Skype credit & unlimited world calls seem not right

I bought a skype deal for World for 3 months. This says I could call USA and Canada mobile phones without any extra cost. I could also call landlines in Venezuela for the period without an extra cost.I attempted to call a mobile phone this morning and it said I dont have enough credit. What does it mean if it is clearly written on your page https://www.skype.com/en/rates/?nu=subs-calling that I could use same to call without any extra cost? I need to understand more. I cant make both out.Whats going on?

  • Display Skype Number on Forwarded Calls

First, I have a Skype Number and I pay for a Skype Premium account. My Skype Account stays forwarded most of the time to another phone.
When someone calls my Skype Number and it forwards to phone, I would like my Skype Number to be displayed on my phone as the Caller ID. Is this possible?
    Thanks,
    Mark

technically it would be a violation of Skype terms and conditions for three users to use the same Skype account, but a call to a shared Skype Name will ring, more or less simulataneously, on all Skype clients where this Skype Name is signed in
but it IS possible to forward any unanswered call to as many as three other Skype Names at the same time -- ringing stops when one of those users answers the incoming call, and it does not matter if they are already in a call (essentially Skype has built-in Call Waiting capability)
these users can each have their own calling subscription, and it sounds like Unlimited Europe would be a likely candidate -- whether you administer these accounts under Skype Manager is up to you, and the main consideration will likely be whether you want to fund the subs centrally, or let each user expense the services separately

    Neil

  • Skype credit for phone calls

I have $7 Skype credits. I can't get it on the Skype app on my android nexus 5 phone. I keep receiving emails as to that. On my Skype.com the credit is there. How can I use this credit on my phone?

How can I get the Skype credit to reflect on the Skype apo on my phone?

  • Re: Skype credit not showing up

I have a similar problem. I bought a skype subscription and received a confirmation email that it was delivered. When I sign into my account I can see the payment for three months. But the subscription bar on the left of the page reads "no subscriptions" and I can't male any calls to the US. When I dial a call from my iPhone it says "no skype credit". Where's the subscription? Why would I need skype credit if I've purchased a subscription? What's going on?

    Hi,
Your order history shows that you have purchased a Skype Number, which enables you to receive calls from phones. You can check the product name from your order history and email confirmation.
Skype handles incoming and outgoing calls separately, so if you wish to make outgoing calls to phone numbers then you need a subscription from: http://www.skype.com/en/rates/
You can contact customer service to get the product switched to a subscription. Follow steps here:

  • Subscription asking for skype credit for local num...

I've had occasional issues with skype telling me I need skype credit for a number I don't need credit for and then sometimes it works and sometimes not (this is my parent's phone number I call all the time, so it's not an issue of location). I just upgraded to new version of skype so maybe the new mac software has a glitch I need to figure out? Please tell me how to call out with subscription so it will stop asking for skype credit. I get automatically billed monthly, I barely make any calls, there's no reason it shouldn't be working, I've had this subscription for years. Thank you!

  • Forwarded calls costing me Skype credit.

I have an unlimited world subcription. Yesterday my girlfriend called my Skype number (in LA) and the call was forwarded to my UK mobile number. The call lasted just over 50 minutes and cost me £7.67. Upon further inspection, I realised I've been charged for every forwarded call since I began using a Skype number with call forwarding. Shouldn't this service be covered by my unlimited world subscription per the description on this page?
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

    Hi,
Please be informed that if the number you want your Skype calls to be forwarded to is within the area covered by your subscription, then it will not cost you any extra. If it is not, then it will cost a little Skype Credit and this will be charged at our regular per minute rate.
If you have Unlimited World subscription and set up incoming calls be forwarded to your UK mobile number, it is normal for you to be charged at our regular rate, as your subscription covers calls to UK landline number only.
You may view the countries included in your subscription and you may check if it covers calls to landline only, or both landline and mobile:
    1. Sign in to your account: http://www.skype.com/go/myaccount
    2. On the left panel, click your subscription.
    3. Next to your subscription, click Settings. A summary of your subscription is displayed on the left. Click the destinations link to see what countries are covered.
You can also browse the countries that are covered by each subscription on our website:
    1. Go to http://www.skype.com/intl/en-gb/prices/pay-monthly/
    2. Enter your chosen country into the search box Which country do you want to call?
You can then view which subscriptions are available for which countries, and which countries are covered by our Unlimited Europe and Unlimited World subscriptions.
    Hope this helps.

  • Call – you need to get Skype Credit to call this n...

    (1) I have Skype Credit so the message is an error.
I used Version 7.0 (653) - and OS is Maverick with latest patches and amendments.
But the problem is that I can just pick up my Android phone and call the same contact. The bug is on Mac, and I only use Mac, iPhone and Android. When will the problem be fixed?
I request others with a similar issue to reply - remember Skype and OS version, and bluntly would prefer to place this on the main page, since this is most likely an issue with specific releases of Skype - on all platforms.

It happened to one number, but I have noticed problems when calling people that has placed Skype on call forward. Phrased another way: I cannot just call anyone to reproduce the error.
Calling the number directly works fine.
I do not recommend you use the latest versions of Skype. This reflects an immature attitude to testing typical for US companies. You never learn that if you restrict the release to a few selected individuals, you get a manageable feedback, which allows you to correct more errors. Then select more and gradually roll out to everyone - at least in three stages. The result is that after a very short time you loose control over the code, and are inundated with user complaints.

  • Skype Number, credit and forwarding when online

    Hi all,
I have a few questions relating to the Skype Number, which I recently bought.
The main purpose for me using the Skype number is to receive business calls and have them forwarded to my mobile. I have a small business, and want to appear as if I had a landline number.
    Here are my queries:
    1) Can I have call forwarding on at all times, even if I am logged in to Skype?
    2) Does it cost to forward calls to my mobile?
    3) If so, is there a specific plan I can get to pay a flat rate?
    Cheers,
    Fabrizio

    1) Can I have call forwarding on at all times, even if I am logged in to Skype?
    - If you have set-up call forwarding in Skype, call forwarding status will be set when you're offline in Skype. Calls can also be forwarded when you're online if the call was not answered after a number of rings.
    2) Does it cost to forward calls to my mobile?
    - If you use Skype Credit as a payment method, the forwarded calls will be charged at the Skype’s great pay per minute rates. For example, if you forward your incoming Skype calls to a mobile number in the United States, you’ll be charged exactly what it costs to call a mobile in the United States from Skype.
    3) If so, is there a specific plan I can get to pay a flat rate?
    - You can also purchase a subscription for calls to a country where you want to receive the forwarded calls. For example, if you want your incoming Skype calls to be forwarded to a number in the United States, simply choose a subscription covering calls to the United States.
No matter which payment method you prefer, the person who’s calling you on Skype will still call you for free.
Our greatest weakness lies in giving up. The most certain way to succeed is always to try just one more time.

I paid for 30$ for 12month where I can call around, but I configured my FREE TALK1200 and when I try to place a call, i get not enough Skype credit?
How do I get help here???
I also paid 50$ for a skype phone number? So what is up? Where are support people??
but can call from a cpu....

You need to make sure you are calling a number within your subscription.  Also check your calling history on Skype.com to ensure the number is being dialed correctly.  If all that is correct then there is a update configuration problem/corruption in the unit.  Usually power cycling and relogging onto the unit will fix it, but not always.
I just purchased another Freetalk Connect Me device last week and they sent me a UK model with no option to change it to US.  I have yet to get a reply from Freetalk where I ordered it.  Any number I dialed from a friends landline +44 was injected and Skype calls all required a 1 prefix before the area code.  I am currently using that box and gave my US box to relatives, since they have a landline.  On my US box, I could login into my account all day long but it would get a bad password error with their account.  The only solution was to reset the box, which in turn resets the configuration, thus fixing the problem.
My guess is that you have a similar error.  If you can login to the box, just click the factory reset option (or press the button) to reset your unit, then try again after the reset.  If you reset the unit correctly, the initial wizard will come up.  Hopefully that will resolve the stubborn issue.
Also make sure your unit is running the latest firmware which is: 1.0.9.0
If it is not running the latest firmware, set your preferred upgrade time/time zone and it should update it around that time frame.  When it was 10:30 pm my time, I set it to 11pm and to my surprise it upgraded a bit earlier at 10:40 pm (right as I was still making changes to the unit).
