I need the correct driver for an infrared remote control (ENE CIR receiver) for Pavilion DV4-2173nr.
The receiver that came with my notebook is a black model one (see picture below), with the following information in its bottom label:

I never managed to make it work, from the very beginning. I know it is working, because I replaced the battery for a brand new one and it shows a blinking IR LED when I press any button and point it to a digital camera.
Searching for "ENE CIR receiver driver" is useless 'cause I received more than one hundred answers - I tried four of them but none worked so far.
So, instead of trying the whole bunch, I am crying for help - could someone please tell me which driver is the correct one for this remote model?

Hello, it's famke again...Still trying to find drivers.. My sound card is apparently also missing drivers... I've tried many drivers from different sites matching the information i've taken off the card...but for some reason i always get a big red slash through my audigy sound control panel after trying to install the driver and reboot my system... I'm convinced i haven't been able to find the correct driver... The information off the card is...Soundblaster Audigy 2ZS M:SB0350... If anyone can help out i would greatly appreciate this...Famke.

If the iTunes database files are on that drive, launch iTunes with the Shift key(Windows) or Option key(Mac OS X) held down, select Choose Library, and navigate to it. The computer may need to be authorized to play protected content, and if the library contains rented movies, those won't play.
If not, import the content to an iTunes library.

TS1363 Nano driver usbaapl64 isn't the correct driver for device

the usbaapl64 driver for the nano when attempting to manually update as per the instructions http://support.apple.com/kb/TS1363 returns an error that this is not the correct driver for this device.
Therefore it is not recognised as there is no driver device support.
Help?

Are there any other USB devices you connect to your PC? Are you using a high powered USB 2.0 port, preferably one directly soldered onto the motherboard?
What is the exact error message message Windows is giving you about the failed driver installation?

Install the above driver and that will install both the ethernet driver and co-processor driver.
You have a problem with the wireless card...could be minor, could be major.
The wireless card is missing from the device manager.
Install this software, reboot, and see if you can turn on the wireless card by using this software.

If that doesn't get the Network Controller device to show up so that you can post the hardware ID for it, then the motherboard is shot. Power to the slot that the wireless card is connected to has been cut.
Very common problem with the Nvidia chipset motherboards with the amd processors.

X130e wireless problems: determining the correct driver, enabling the radio

I just spent 5 days and many hours getting the wireless on my wife's x130e to work, so I thought I would share my experience in the hope that it may help somebody.
First thing: delete all of Lenovo's supplemental software that attempts to in any way manage the wireless connection. It and Windows disagree on what to do, apparently. Windows would tell me the wireless radio was on, and the Lenovo software would tell me it was off -- which it was, but because Windows thought it was on, it wouldn't turn on. So get rid of the Lenovo stuff, and just use Windows to install and manage the wireless driver. The O/S is ultimately in charge, so deal directly with it and don't try to use a middleman.
As far as choosing the right driver: Lenovo's driver matrix still leaves you with several choices of driver even after drilling down to the bottom. I finally opened the bottom of the computer (3 screws, it's easy, see online hardware manual) and looked at the wireless card. In really tiny print I eventually found "Realtek RTL8188CE." (See photo. Your card may not look like this, but you ought to find something helpful.) You can go to the Realtek site, search for that number, and eventually find a driver. I ended up using a driver from the Lenovo site, but I felt comfortable that it was the correct one when the Windows Device Manager identified the author of the driver as Realtek.
So...when I finally was satisfied I had the correct driver, and I deleted all the Levono auxilliary software, and setup the wireless card with Windows, it worked.

it's the same dhcp thing... shutting the daemon down should do a "dhcpcd -k" - but I have to look into it.. .as it doesn't work too well on my machine...
try "dhcpcd -k eth0" then network start... that *should* work the first time, as it releases the dhcp lease...

Adobe does not require a password to download the Flash installer. Generally speaking passwords are not required to download software, unless you must register with the website so as to log in. In that case you should never use the same name and password you use to administer your Mac.

How do I get the remote control app to work for a Sony HDD Hi Res audio player?

We have installed HCM and CRM modules on Fusion Application 11.1.7 version.
This is 2 node architecture ie IDM components installed in one node and Fusion components installed in another node.
We are able to start the IDM components and Fusion components successfully, but when users are trying to access any task from Fusion application home page, they are getting the below error

This may be related to the other issue regarding "FUSION_APPS_WSM_APPID-KEY" as the logs contains exceptions like:

Please refer to document Fusion Application Service Account Password Expiration Causes Portlet Producer Errors (1486388.1) for steps on how to verify and set the password. There is also exception:
javax.security.auth.login.FailedLoginException: [Security:090302]Authentication Failed: User FUSION_APPS_PROV_PATCH_APPID denied
This is also likely caused by an expired password, please see Fusion Apps Servers Are Not Starting Up - Password Policy Error :9000: GSL_PWDEXPIRED_EXCP :Your Password has expired (1629927.1).

Lenovo AIO C440 - not working infrared remote control

Hello,
is there any hint how to get infrared remote control working for a new C440 model? Tomorrow I will try to measure and/or replace batteries which could be bad. For now it is totally not working.
Another question: the remote should work only within AverMedia TV app or in the whole Windows 8?

Welcome to the Lenovo Forums.
The IR Windows Media Center remote control is for use with C440 models with optional TV tuner. If you have this model, make sure the TV Tuner driver and the ITE CIR Driver from the lenovo support site are installed under Device Manager (press Windows Key+R then type devmgmt.msc) then follow the Set up a TV signal in Windows Media Center. guide.
Note:
You must have Windows 8 PRO to enable Windows Media Center

I Need the correct resolution for images imported to iDVD

Maybe some kind soul can help me out. I took some photos with my digital camera. Made slides of them in Powerpoint, imorted to iPhoto then to iDVD slideshow and all was fine. No cutoffs of top or bottom and no black bars. Now I've tried for another project to take these sides from Powerpoint, import to iPhoto, set up a slide show with timings and sound. then export to iDVD, but it cuts the tops and bottoms of the pictures. I've read everthing I can find on proper resolution and ratio. I constrained them to the 4:3 inside iPhoto and still cutoffs of top and bottom. I put them into Photoshop and constrained to 640x480 as suggested and then after import to iDVD there are black bars on top and sides when it plays on a tv/dvd player but looks okay on the computer moniter. I need the slides to be full on the tv safe area and show full on a tv with no black bars or cutoffs. I've gone nuts trying to figure this out. Any help would be GREATLY appreciated. Thanks in advance.

This sounds to be the REVERSE of a TV Safe Area problem. The usual problem is the images show correctly on the computer monitor but are missing edge information when played to a TV set.
640x480 works with the iApps through iLife '04. The iLife '05 apps expect NTSC images to be 720x534 pixels - using a 640x480 image will result in black bands on either side of the image. PAL is 768x576. Note that these are listed as standard size images when creating a new image in Photoshop.
The only way to get a slideshow to show everything on both a computer monitor and a TV set is to include the slideshow twice - once with no edge masking for computer use and once with the edges padded with black so everything will be shown on a TV set.
Edit: I just reread your original post and you may be seeing effects caused by the Ken Burns effect not being turned off.

Can't find the correct driver for my printer.

I just recently moved, and was trying to set up my computer to be connected to my printer/scanner again. It has been many months since i last used this desktop computer, and when i tried to connect my printer, i couldn't find the right driver. So i had to use some other hp driver, and so my printer will print, but not scan. Any suggestions?

i tried getting a software update, and it didn't give me any more drivers than what i already saw before.
i don't have a disc that would load the right driver, but i didn't use it in the first place. The "auto select driver" thing picked it up fine last time i used this printer and computer together.

HP has scanner software for their multi-function printers. If your printer precedes Leopard then there should be compatible drivers at HP. OS X does not come with scanner drivers for any scanner until you upgrade to Snow Leopard. You won't find any driver updates via Software Update unless Apple releases an HP driver package update and SU detects that you have a compatible HP printer already installed.
