I need the old cache system with strict alphabetical filter, not the "intelligent" one. Is it possible to have it on this new version of Firefox ? Thanks.
Hi, is it possible to have a strict alphabetical filter for the cache suggestions in fields (like with the previous version) instead of the new "intelligent" system? For example, if I type "fire dr", I only want suggestions "fire dragon" or "fire drake" but not "dragon fire" or "dread fire". Thanks!

Every time Firefox opened
== I updated Firefox
Hi Morbus,
thanks for your answer.
First I must say that my question was in fact concerning Firefox 3.6.3. I updated my Firefox 3.0.19 to 3.6.3 and that's why I had this problem. But I also kept my 3.0.19 version and use it when I need the alphabetic field cache recognition (to play an online game in which you must be the first to recognize a picture and type its name in a field).
I launched 3.6.3 and install the cache utility you recommend, but unfortunately it's not the function I need. My question doesn't concern URL cache but ''field'' cache, and I don't need a soft that opens a new window.
I just would like to get the old alphabetic cache so the options are more restricted when I type, so I gain a little time. With the "new" cache, I have to type the whole name so the cache is not useful anymore.
Sorry, I don't know if I make myself clear...

In an earlier version of Firefox, when I went to close it, I would get a prompt "save tabs and quit?" that allowed me to see the same websites open from the last time I closed the computer. Where is that feature on the new version of Firefox?
Firefox 4 and later versions save the previous session automatically, so there is no longer need for the dialog asking if you want to save the current session.<br />
Use "File > Exit" or "Firefox > Exit" (Mac: "Firefox > Quit Firefox") if you want to restore multiple windows or otherwise have problems with restoring tabs.<br />
You can use "History > Restore Previous Session" to get the previous session at any time.<br />
You may need to click the orange/gray Firefox button to see History.<br />
There is also a "Restore Previous Session" button on the default <b>about:home</b> Home page.<br />
Using the "Show my windows and tabs from last time" setting is a more reliable way to restore session data.

I have Norton 360 on my computer. I use Firefox regularly and I downloaded the latest version of Firefox. I was able to use Norton 360 in Firefox. Norton saved all my passwords I use online. Now the latest update of Firefox does not allow me to use Norton 360. Is this compatibility problem with Firefox or with Norton? Can this be fixed? If so, how? What do I need to do?
Works for me on Linux with Firefox 10.0.1
Start Firefox in <u>[[Safe Mode]]</u> to check if one of the extensions or if hardware acceleration is causing the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Appearance/Themes).
*Don't make any changes on the Safe mode start window.

I updated Firefox this morning. As I use the Google toolbar on a regular basis for many different reasons, I was very upset to find it had disappeared. I went to Google apps to reinstall it, but found out that it is not compatible with this version of Firefox! Please, don't update software, if it is NOT going to work properly.
Is there anyway I can remove the update and go back to how it was before???You can get Firefox 3.6.16 here: <br />

I always look for that padlock on the lower right hand corner of the screen when i go on my bank account site or enter any confidential user info such as account numbers/passwords. This version of Firefox doesn't seem to have it, so how do I know I'm on a secure site? This has me a little nervous. i'd like to switch back to version 3.x if I cannot get that with this version.
thanks. The padlock has been replaced by the site identity button, for details on using it see https://support.mozilla.com/kb/Site+Identity+Button

I am a webmaster/work in site development and need to see the FULL "title tag" or browser title of every page I visit. It's now partially obscured and I have to "view source" (the html source) in order to see the FULL title tag. Before it was completely visible; now I can only see a small part of it. How do I fix it so I can see the entire thing? I cannot drag the tab bar to make it bigger.
I am talking about this <title>Ask a Question | Mozilla Support</title>; some title tags of some pages are much longer and obscured now in this new Mozilla version. I need to see the full thing! Please help!!!!'''<u>Method 1</u>'''<br>
Simply hover the mouse cursor over the tab until the tooltip appears.

# Right-click an empty area of the tab bar and choose Customize.
# Click the Title Bar button in the lower left to enable the title bar.
# Click the Exit Customize button when done. -
Iconix icons not showing with this new version of Firefox. Why?
On previous version my emails were checked by Iconix and showed an Icon for reckognised genuine emails from ligitemate sources. On this new Firefox version this seems to have been hidden or is not happening.
I apologize, I wasnt quite clear enough. I meant the center button on my touchpad like the center scroll button on a mouse, not the up down left right arrows on the keyboard. Sorry for the confusion.

With the old version, all I had to do was go to the log in page to any of my email accounts or membership sites and scan my finger. It would fill in the fields and open my account. I like this new version of Firefox, but if I am not able to use that password manager then I will have to install the older version.
A 2008 black MacBook can run OS X Lion (OS X 10.7). However, if you want to use that Mac for apps that do not work with the new MacBook, I recommend you to leave it with Mac OS X 10.6.8, because OS X Lion removes compatibility with PowerPC apps.
Do not worry about the battery of the new MacBook Pro. You can replace it yourself or take it to an Apple Store or reseller, and the cost is similar. However, it's important to take the Mac to an Apple Store or reseller if your Mac's battery fails while the Mac is in warranty, because you will get the battery replaced for free. -
How do I change the tab sizes in the new version of Firefox?
Hi,
Thanks for any help in advance.
Of course the new Firefox is messing with me...But I have one specific question...
Facts...
1) I own a iMac...17 inch...So I can open lots and lots of tabs at once.
2) I just rebooted my computer back to brand new.
3) I'm working on finding all my old stuff, but can't seem to find two specific items...
In the previous version, and before I rebooted, I had about 40 tabs (Including Cluster Tabs) opening-up whenever I started a browse session. But now, I can't seem to control the size of the tabs, so they get less narrow as I had them?
I've already downloaded "Vulcanize Tabs" but that's no help...I think it was a specific theme that allowed me to do this, but many of the themes don't work with this new version of Firefox.
I suspect I'll just have to wait until the themes are updated? Or, do you have a better idea?
Also...
I want to get rid of the "X" on each tab and only have a close tab button on the far right of my tabs navigation bar.
Any help?
If so, thanks again!
Ps...Is there a way to reverse my downloading of this newest Firefox version and go back to the previous one until this new one gets many of the bugs worked-out?You can also look at Tab Mix Plus.

I no longer have the tool bar. The only way to exit is to use the task manager to exit. Bookmarks, history, nothing is visible. When exiting via the task function, it says the system is waiting for a reply, but nothing shows on screen. There is no way I will upgrade my other computers to this new version of Firefox!!
There is no orange button shown. All I have shown is:
the Firefox Logo
Google box to enter search item, search
Signup
Restore previous screen

hallo, i have a problem with the intallation about after effects. I have a mac 10.6.8 and they told me I can't installete it because i don't have a system with 64 bit. how can i do? someone told me i can .. but i don't know how. thank you
You cannot. If someone else told you there is a way then they will need to show you. After Effects requires a 64-bit system and the latest release requires Mac OS X v10.8 or v10.9 minimum

I created a spreadsheet on my mac with numbers, and now it tells me I have to buy a newer version of numbers to access the spreadsheet I created with the old program. if I wanted problems like that I would go back to using windows
Hi sar23,
You may have inadvertently created or edited the document in the new Numbers 3.0 (which is free; you don't have to buy it) and are now trying to open it with the old Numbers 2.3.
Both versions can be on your Mac at the same time, and can run at the same time. The icons are similar so it's easy to confuse them (old on top here, new on bottom).
The new Numbers 3.0 is in your Applications folder. The old Numbers 2.3 should be in a subfolder in the Applications folder named iWork '09 or similar.
If you accidently edited an old document in the new version and want to take to take it back to the old version, you can export it:
