I need the software to run my ipod shuffle on my computer
I need the software to run my ipod shuffle. Missed placed it during a move....havent been able 2 use it....Itunes does not detect it but shows it on my computer when I plug it in. Someone please HELP ME!

Everything used to work fine on my laptop. I'm fairly sure it was after I had uninstalled Zune crap from my laptop when my iTunes started messing up and saying "the software for communicating with ipod is not installed correctly".
I've searched the whole internet front to back about this error and most things I find are from 2005'ish. I've tried changing the registry permissions, reinstalling itunes, clearing out everything that has to do with itunes, doing all the msconfig things, manually starting the ipodservice.exe.
I still cannot figure it out and I've had this error for like 3 months. Only thing that I notice that MIGHT be odd is that I'll have ipodservice.exe running (from System) and when I open iTunes another ipodservice.exe will open (from my username) and then close after a few seconds and then I plug my ipod up and bam, the error from above comes up. Anyone have any clue? Like I said everything worked fine at one point!
Thanks!Another thing is that iPod Touch shows up fine...I've tried every other ipod from older 4gig Nanos to 120gb Classics and none of them work..this is really annoying!

Idea is I can easily set dbms_scheduler to freq = dailiy
But the timing is also set..
What if the server is down ..at that time..and i need

but it has to run only once..
so is there a setting in dbms_scheduler through which we can get this done..
Like setting dbms_scheduler freq= daily .. But timing .. .that is the issue..
I cannot give a fixed timing ... .
It can be at any time i start the computer..on a day.. but afte the computer has started..it should not fire duplicate..
Any options in dbms_scheduler to accomplish this..

The message "the software for communicating with ipod is not installed properly keeps on showing up no matter what I do.
I have removed the program several times and reinstalled it several times. I have updated my windows. I have tried just about evertying. I have wasted several hours on this ipod, I am about to return it and be over with it..
I have even went to the homesite to download the updates and the newest version of ipod manager.
My ipod charges from the USB port but I think it is recognising it as a seperate drive.

Are you using Fast User Switching in Windows XP? If so, logout the other users first.

When you restore via iTunes iTunes will download the firmware(ipsw) file. It could be that the microwave damaged the iPod and iTunes does not know what it is. -

You could contact Apple Support and see if they have the original discs for that machine but it would be 10.4.11 and there's no reason not to go to at least Snow Leopard, especially since the 10.6 discs would probably cost the same as a replacement set of 10.4.11 -

Other consists of album artwork, the iPod's software, and files that cannot be categorized elsewhere such as corrupted files leftover from failed sync operations with iTunes. Obviously the artwork doesn't apply in this situation since you own an iPod Shuffle, so at this point, we can probably assume that this Other content is corrupted files.
In order to reduce the size of other, you'll need to restore the iPod Shuffle to factory settings in iTunes.

If you have not already, I would shut down (power off) your computer. Do this to Reset your shuffle

If you have added a new USB device recently (since the last time it worked properly), you may want to try disconnecting it to see if that makes any difference. -

How can I be certain the contact list in my iPod touch updates my computer Outlook contact list when I sync and not go the other way? The options in iTunes are not specific enough. In other words, I want to replace the information in my computer Outlook contact list with the data from my iPod touch.
How is your iPod configured to sync music from your iTunes library? In other words, what options and configurations do you have enabled from under the iPod's Summary and Music configuration panes in iTunes?
