Because the location for each song in your library is on your hard drive. If the hard drive isn't there, how can iTunes play it?
You'll have to move/copy the music from your hard drive to your computer's hard drive.
Basically, EASIEST way to do all this, if you don't care about your play counts, etc...
-Delete EVERYTHING from iTunes, so that your library is now empty.
-Go to "Advanced" inside of the "Preferences" window, found in the "Edit" drop-down. You can also access Preferences by pressing Ctrl+, (Press Ctrl and the comma key)
-Change your iTunes Media Folder Location to something simple, but on your computer. I use C:/iTunes. Make sure "Keep iTunes Media Folder Organized" and "Copy files to...." are both checked. You can close Preferences now.
-Now, drag and drop your music from your hard drive into your iTunes library. iTunes will automatically add the music to your library, as you would expect, and also creates a copy of each file to place into that iTunes Media Folder you just created.
Shouldn't have any more problems...

It used to be if you added the contacts photo on the iOS device they would have a large picture and if you added it from Address Book on OS X they would have a smaller thumbnail. I have experienced this as well. Usually it is something simple in the metadata that iTunes recognizes as different. Try selecting all the songs at once in that album and get info on multiple tracks. At that point you can mark them as part of a compilation. The article below walks you through this process.

If downloading, wouldn't the tracks eventually exceed my storage capacity on the iPad since my iTunes library is way bigger? Do i need to delets songs off the iPad eventually?

It is downloaded, and yes it takes up space and can eventually fill up your iPad. It's supposed to delete older tracks as the music app plays new ones and space gets low, but other apps won't delete songs and free up the space. So if you were going to say use the camera app and it was full of music you would have to delete songs manually.

ipod will not display track and artist name when i play a song... i cant see the the volume display to adjust it eiether. Everyting shows up in the menus just not on the now playing screen.... any suggestions?

Try restoring your iPod. Just be aware that restoring will erase the hard drive, reload the software and put it back to default settings. Once the restore is complete follow the on screen instructions and it should connect to iTunes and give you a prompt to automatically update your library onto the fresh installation. Is the message saying:
Not enough storage
Not enough/low memory?
For the former delete some items from the iPod.
For the latter.double click the home button and close all the apps in the recently used dock. Then power off and then back on the iPod. This frees up memory.

The video tutorial window that shows when photoshop is launched is TOO SMALL. Can it be maximized??

The "Welcome" window that opens when PS CC 2014 is launched show the option to playa specific vidieo tutorials. However, that window in not adjustable and is frequently too small to see exactly what the person is actually doing. Can the video be enlarged?
There are other secondary videos that can be watched in that same window. These other videos are really quite tiny, actually. I can't see at all what the person is doing. I think it would be nice to be able to enlarge the videos presented within the Welcome window that opens with PS CC 2014. Is anyone else having this problem??

I am aware of the above links; they do not appear to contain the same, most recent videos containing the most recent updates that open in Photoshop when Photoshop is updated, however.
I think having these videos discussing the most recent updates immediately available in Photoshop is more timely and convenient. but again, I wonder why the video window is so small. Why was that considered good form and even helpful?
