I have done what it said to do in the help section but I cannot change the security features. I need to make a document unprintable.

You can't change security with Adobe Reader. The instructions you found are probably for Adobe Acrobat.

To get automatic updates set the Updater in the Reader Preferences.

Need help finding the desktop applc of Adobe Reader for Palm OS

Either I'm going blind, or Adobe just failed to include a download link for that Adobe Reader desktop application that takes care of converting regular PDF files to PDB files. I
Here is Adobe Reader for Palm OS page, there you'll find a link to download a Free AR for the Palm OS, which installs a PRC file in your Palm, but there is no mention of its counter part application for the desktop

If your TX installation CD does not "auto-run" and present you with a menu to install additional software (including Adobe Reader for Palm), you can find it on the disc using Windows Explorer at:
Palm CD > Int_English > Essential_software > Adobe Reader for Palm
In that folder is the installation (.exe) file which you run on your desktop. It installs the desktop app, and the .prc file gets installed to the quick installer during the process.
FYI...this software is slow and clunky on the handheld. The conversion process is imperfect, and particularly with files which I have produced myself using Acrobat Distiller (the part of Adobe Acrobat which lets you "print" to the distiller to create a .pdf file from anything), it sometimes doesn't even work.
The best .pdf viewer I have used on my handhelds is actually the upgraded version of Documents To Go, which handles native .pdf files pretty well. No conversion needed, just drop the files into your SD card, or Hotsync with Documents To Go desktop.

Do I need to include the link to download Adobe Reader (or Acrobat)?

When publishing .pdfs within my company, is there a legal requirement to publish that invitation we often see "Need Adobe...?" with a link and logo?

Publishing that in a PDF would be pointless. If they don't have Reader, they'll never see the link to begin with because they can't open the PDF.
If you're putting links to the PDF in HTML pages or emails, then the "Get Adobe Reader" links would make much more sense.

The email feature in adobe reader XI does not work with windows 7

When I try to attach a PDF directly to an email from within Reader, my gmail login screen flashes briefly and then disappears without allowing me to enter my password (and therefore will not connect to my webmail/gmail)

Hmmm - I do not even get to the Gmail page; all I get is
...and I do not know where to specify a password for my Gmail account.
I will do some more testing later, but for now I have to go out for a while.

Find feature in Adobe Reader

How do I use the Find feature in Adobe Reader? I used the Print PDF feature then copied the file from a Windows 7 computer to a CD-ROM and am trying to use it on a Windows 8 computer. The file opens but I cannot use the Find feature. Please help and thanks!

Try opening Adobe Reader on it's own then use File>Open (let's be sure that Reader is opening the file). Does Find work?
If it does, you just need to change your file associtaions so that Reader opens pdf files by default.

In contrary; Google Chrome uses its own PDF viewer, not the Adobe Reader plugin.

Looking for help with managing security filters using the JAPI. Has anyone developed JNI classes to access the Security Filter features of the C API? Are you talking about the Requirements Gateway? It is a separate product from NI that will do what you are looking for. I haven't used it so I am not sure of the API chain to make it work. Take a look and see if that is what you were thinking of.

Sorry, I just re-read your original post and see that you are looking to also use the Requirements Gateway, so you obviously know about it. I don't know what the API changes were that made it work so I am not going to be much help.

He slightly beat you Meg, and I'm in the same boat with you. If I used a passcode I believe I would go with the feature to use a longer alphanumeric passcode rather than a 4 digit number even with the random code entry.
And of course if Apple did put this feature in they need to make it an option or we'll see lots of posts wanting to know how to get rid of it.

Were you able to reset the account's password ? If not then how did you try to get it reset e.g. http://iforgot.apple.com (which would have sent it to the rescue email address if you have one on that account) ? You can also try contacting iTunes Support in your country to get it reset : http://support.apple.com/kb/HT5699
And no, accounts can't be merged nor content transferred between accounts.

Go up to the top of your screen on iTunes and click on 'Store'. Then go down to 'Authorize This Computer'. That should cover part of it unless you've already authorized a bunch of other computers to use your account. If that's the case, you'll have to go to one of those computers and click the button just below it to 'deauthorize your account' from that computer. If you're not able to access the store, check your internet connection to make sure you are connected. Hope this helps.. good luck!

I have ordered a 800 firewire to 800 firewire cable and am hoping to use the target mode option to copy files from the MBP.
