I need to buy a background and other graphics library - suggestions?

Can anyone recommend a program or library that has backgrounds and/or other graphic elements that can be easily imported and used in Final cut pro? I am working with talking heads against a green screen and want to key them onto a background. I am not sure what programs people use to create backgrounds or other graphic elements, since it seems that most applications are used to manipulate them but not actually create them. Any suggestions on what to buy?

Livetype and maybe Motion and your own creativity are an endlessly robust library of backgrounds. All you need is time to experiment and render.
The JUICE products offer much more than just backgrounds, though. There are large collections of integrated, themed versions and variations that includes stuff for lower thirds, bumps, promos, interstitials, etc.

If you did not get an OS X install-restore DVD with the computer you may need
to buy one from somewhere, and you may be lucky to get a retail OS X 10.5.x
version. The original grey-label install set of software and OS X it shipped with
likely would be an older system than Leopard 10.5. Last versions of G4 Mac, &
G5, shipped with a Tiger 10.4 system; so did early Intel-based Mac. Grey discs
which accompanied other computer build models generally do not interchange.
The last OS X version a PowerPC architecture can use, if supported, is 10.5.8.
A PPC processor at 867MHz & faster should be able to run OS X 10.5 Leopard.

things including re-install, and perform disk utility functions, etc.}
There is a chance you may be able to get a white-label Replacement 10.4 DVD
or Replacement 10.5 DVD from AppleCare or the online Apple Store (800myapple)
from a Mac OS X system specialist; these have been available yet hard to get
as not all persons involved with them seem to know if they still exist until someone
is asking. These aren't retail stock, are special discs for computers who could use
a system later than original old discs; these are complete install discs not for one
specific series of Mac. Generally they'd work in supported PowerPC G4/G5; but
do not replace specialized original install DVD, such as an early Intel mac requires.
You'd need to have a serial number of the computer, and a method of payment
when seeking some replacement system media from Applecare or Apple sales
and these discs are not available in a retail store. The original Retail discs are
labeled differently and shipped in a retail box with a big X on the front. Other
sources for retail 10.4 Tiger or 10.5 Leopard may be online via amazon sellers
or computer resellers who handle repaired Macs. Avoid mystery grey label ones
that were intended to be sold and kept with their original computer kits.

www.mosh.nokia.com is a good source of software but it's closing down soon.
www.getjar.com is a good source of programs.
www.zedge.net is good for themes and backgrounds.

How to set background and other elements for each page of gallery?

I guys, I used th DW/FW Web Photo Gallery tool to make this gallery: http://12bar.co.nz/Gallery/index.htm then edited index.htm to make the page look a bit more attractive. However, when you click on any of the images you just get the ugly white background and black text.
Is there a way to make each photo page black background and insert navigational graphics without having to open and edit each one individually?

Why not try using something like Lightbox. When you click on the thumbnail... this uses jquery, but it's very simple to set up:

HT1386 My ipod touch will not sync to itunes after installing version 11. My computer recognizes that it is connected, but itunes, media moneky, and sharepod would not recognize it. I tried every suggestion apple and other community folks suggested-no l

itunes diagnostics only finds that no ipod is connected when it really is. I have tried different cords, unistalled/reinstalled itunes, erased my ipod started over, restarted computer, etc. My ipod is useless now that I cannot sync it wth itunes and there is now no music on it. Its a paper weight now. All of the posts I have read have no solution for this. I would love to go back to itunes 10 because none of this occured until I downloaded that version.

Videos and other graphics won't load

Videos and certain graphics won't load. I've cleared my cache, cleared cookies, and restarted in safe mode without addons. Nothing seems to work. It's a Firefox issue - things load in other browsers just fine.

Did this just start recently? Since you are running Firefox 6, I don't think it's due to a change in Firefox, but it could be related to a Flash player update. There are some compatibility issues between the latest Flash player and some Firefox add-ons or settings. Many people are happy with OS X 10.5.8 but since you have an Intel Mac it is well worth upgrading to Snow Leopard now and then considering other options after that.

I have questions from those pesky developer types that i can't answer. Is there an angel out there..?
Questions:
1. What are/where can I find the variables I need to pass to rwrun60? Anybody have an example?
2. Also, is the rwrun60 the command line version equivalent to r25run?
3. Is the command a stand alone executable i.e. it does not talk to a report server?
4. What are the rwrun60c and rwcli60 commands and how do we call these?

1) The rwrun60 is Oracle's Reort runtime executable. You can find a list of the command line params you can pass to this by opening the help file (oracle reports developer) and typing rwrun60.

Why do I need iTunes for getting podcasts and other subscriptions.

Ok, to be fair, I do love my two iOS devices (iPhone and iPad). I have used these for just over a year now and I'm still impressed about speed and stability.
There's one thing though that annoys the **** out of me: The inability to automatically get my subscriptions for podcasts, without having to connect my iOS-devices to my computers iTunes.
I use a number of operating systems on a daily basis and that makes it hard to have one centralized location for an iTunes installation. This means I end up having to track releases manually and download them (through the mobile version of iTunes I might add) to my devices.
What could possibly be the reason for Apple not to support this?
Is there a place for such feature requests, somewhere on this site?
If this is it then I would like ask for the following:
- automatically sync all subscribed media directly on the iOS-device
- timetracking between devices. Just like with the iBooks (awesome feature!)

Need to fix Set Alpha and other effects

too many effects still have glitches! Set Aplha blinks instead of setting alpha... others behave similarly... after 2 "new" releases of the software, you'd think glitches would get solved.... fail

Questions re buying first iPad and getting started fast--suggestions?

I'm leaving for a trip out of the country in 3 days and have just learned that I'll have free reliable wi-fi where I'll be staying. I don't want to take my laptop, so I'm considering buying my first iPad.
I'm a middle-aged writer and strictly low-tech. If I get it, I'll use it for downloading books to read on the plane, movies, email, and looking at newspapers once a day. (I'll leave learning how to use the camera until later!) Questions:
How fast would it take to get up to speed on these basics? I don't want to spend $$$ on something I won't use because I wasn't able to figure out how to do what I want before going to the airport on Friday. I'm afraid that if I go to my local Apple store, they'll just tell me "it's easy, you'll have no trouble"--when it's never as easy as that!
What should I get in addition to the iPad itself? I assume I'll need a case to protect it and a headset for streaming movies if I want.

This happens to me as well. However, I have a shortcut on my desktop as well as my quick start bar. When this has happened to me, I can usually log back in without restarting, by using the shortcut on the desktop rather than the usual quick start bar.
I know this sounds weird, but it has worked for me about 80% of the time.
