I need to control which software gets access to the the internet

Hello,
I need to control which software gets access to the the internet to control my GPRS bill. For example, I want only Battle.net software (Blizzard Armory) to be able to access the internet when I leave my home or work WiFi and hit the road where I connect through GPRS and/or 3G. Is there such a software that does this function?

One way of doing this is to use either a ring or enum where the strings
presented to the user are "1", "10", or whatever you like. On the
diagram, the values will be 0, 1, 2, in a compact counting sequence.
Then do an array index into a constant. If this is done more than one
place, make the control a typedef so you can keep them consistent an
d
make the index be done in a subVI. Then whenever you need this, you
drop the control and the subVI, out comes the integer, float, or
whatever it is you want to index.

When I download itunes, it says that Ipod Service failed to start. I checked the services under task manager and when I try to start it, it says access denied. How to I get access and for the ipod service to start and run?

Please help. My ipod classic could not be recognised by itunes when I connect my ipod to PC. Previously it has been recognised before I updated. This was a while ago now and so I removed all apple files and re installed the latest itunes but am having the same problem.

Some anti-virus programs (e.g., McAfee) have this rule that can be invoked under the "maximum protection" settings: PREVENT PROGRAMS REGISTERING AS A SERVICE. If that rule is set to BLOCK, then any attempt to install or upgrade iTunes will fail with an "iPod service failed to start" message.
If you are getting this problem with iTunes, check to see if your anti-virus has this setting and unset it, at least for as long as the iTunes install requires. Exactly how to find the rule and turn it on and off will vary, depending upon your anti-malware software. However, if your anti-virus or anti-malware software produces a log of its activities, examining the log may help you find the problem.
For example, here's the log entry for McAfee:

Note that the log says "Common Maximum Protection: Prevent programs registering as a service". The "Common Maximum Protection" is the location of the rule, "Prevent programs registering as a service" is the rule. I used that information to track down the location in the McAfee VirusScan Console where I could turn the rule off.
After I made the change, iTunes installed without complaint.

The DVD recorder I'm referring to is one I've use for years. It is not attached to my aging iMac in any way. I simply play the video from my camcorder (mini-dv tape based Canon HV20) into the DVD recorder and create a DVD that can be played in any DVD player. I can only do minimum editing so what goes in is what I get. This has been fine for creating dupes of the various things I shoot.
If I buy a new iMac (21 inch), I'd like to be able to download the video to the iMac through iMovie, work with it to whatever degree I wish, and burn it to a DVD that can also be played in any DVD player -- or to use as a master to dupe copies.
What I'm understanding from you and others is that this would be possible if Apple had included iDVD in the software that comes with the iMac, or if I purchase the iLife Family Pack, or buy the correct version of Toast. I'm hoping I can persuade Apple to sell me an iMac with iDVD installed.
Essentially I want to move from a basic process of creating DVD copies to the more sophisticated process of creating one from an iMac.

If your iMac has a PowerPC processor, Leopard OS 10.5.x is the max OS. If your iMac has an Intel processor, it can run Snow Leopard OS 10.6.x or possibly higher.
Once we know your iMac model, we can better recommend what OS X version.

Accordion Menu - need to control which panel opens

I have an accordion menu that works fine but when I put it
into action
on the site, I realized that I needed the accordion to open
up a
different section on each new page.
Since I have the accordion menu in an SSI (server side
include) I don't
want to have a different spry asset for each page. However, I
think
setting a session variable would work to control which
section is opened.
Anyone done this? What would it look like?

How to get access to all the advisories in mozilla?

Mozilla Foundation Security Advisories (http://www.mozilla.org/security/announce/),
when accessed provides information on many of the advisories, but for some it displays an error that you are not authorized to open.
I tried to open bug #790879 & it showed following error:-

Can anybody please tell me what needs to be done to get complete access of the advisories.

i myself am no mozilla staff but just a contributing volunteer, so i cannot tell you for sure how it works in practise (the policy document is now nearly a decade old). however according to the document most bugs should get disclosed after a unspecified amount of time after they got fixed and then they are just readable like any other normal bug report at bugzilla.mozilla.org.
in case you have a legitimate interest in reviewing a certain inaccessible bug-report (& have an account on bugzilla.mozilla.org) you could also try to write an email to the security@XXX mail address & explain the situation - maybe they can/will add you to the list of people who are authorized to view the details.

If you are learning, surely enough , learning any o/s other than windows will help. About the industry, there is not just one player that rules in the o/s market. It depends on a lot of factors , cost being the most dominating one. Linux, being a little less costlier, is surely a good choice for many but so is HP UX or AIX. Without bothering about what is more popular, learn one which you can get your hands on in your learning environment more easily. For example, it would be tough to have a AIX based machine in your home and a linux based would be lot easier. So learn one, ,learn it good. When you go to a different shop, use your previous knowledge and learn the know-hows of that o/s as well.

Following setting: the content area of the desktop inner page inside the default frameworkpage usually consist of just one iView.
But what happens when there are 3 iViews inside? How do i have to call the pageloader which of the 3 iViews should get updated when a nav node of the detailed navigation is clicked?

Since you will be using the Merger Id property, they will be linked to a single link in navigational area.
Refreshing a page / clicking the link in navigation Pane will result in refreshing of all the iViews.

Do I need to install that software CD that came with the Sony TG5V?

Is there anyone here who uses a Sony TG5V who can answer the question below?
The box with my new Sony HDR-TG5V Handycam arrived tonight via UPS. One of the items in the box is a Sony CD. That CD, which contains software, is known to not be compatible with Mac.
My question is: Couldn't I just *not install that CD* into my computer? I am going to use iPhoto '09 and iMovie '09, not any Sony software.
Or does it have some other thing on it, without which the whole camcorder will explode?

I've had 2 Sony camcorders and have never loaded any Sony software. My cameras never exploded

I am a new to the C# and WPF. Right now, I want to override onTouchUp event in my user control. Then I can add user control in
the references for reuse. The problem is each time I want to test this event on the application, the event only fire at area of user control, not whole screen. Anyone has solution for this?

You cannot just add a UserControl to a window and expect its OnTouchUp method to get invoked when a TouchUp event occurs outside of the user control. That is not how routed events work.
The OnTouchUp method of the UserControl will only be invoked when a TouchUp event occurs from within the UserControl.
The event will indeed bubble up to the parent elements of the UserControl and you could for example handle the event in the parent window:
