I need to deactivate Messages on my old work computer (in another state). Will deactivating my Apple ID on all computers deactivate this?
I got a notification that my old work computer is still activated with my Apple ID (for iTunes) and phone number (for Messages). Will deactivating all computers connected to my Apple ID also deactivate my account for Messages?
I doubt the license is affecting the performance - it might be a case of the software being too old for the machine.
In any case, you can contact Adobe support thru chat and have them reset your activation count to eliminatre your doubts regarding the license.

I've rented a movie but it seems to stick at the download screen. I get the message "ready to play in......" (time stated varies) but it doesn't get past this screen. I've left my broadband and apple TV on all night but this message is still there. Any ideas what I'm doing wrong?

The Apple TV streams the movie you rent and loads up enough in its memory to let you watch buffer free and then forgets the movie. You get a rental for 30 days until you start to watch it then you have if for 48 hours.
The only thing you can do is play it when you want to watch it, if there is a problem when you do that contact apple or post again. The Apple TV does not download the movie so if you switch off and resume later it will need to reload but can start from where you left off.

I am trying to update my iPod touch to the new iOS, but the error message "An error has occurred while backing up this iPod (0xE800067)" and asks me if I want to continue (which will "result in the loss of all contents on this iPod"); what is the problem?

Stick the disk in, reboot holding c.
Disk Utility is a menu option about the 2 or 3rd screen in the installer. (don't install OS X!)
Because your booted form the installer disk, you can repair the disk.
Quit and exit the installer and reboot.
If your drive is not repaired, make a note of all what it says, for Apple to use.
Reboot and get your files off to a external drive,
Take the note and your comptuer to Apple for a warranty/Apple care call, they will replace the drive. -

Ive had my 13 inch macbook pro for less than 30 days and the battery health has gone down to 92% and the computer itself is so slow...i paid $50.00 for an OLD windows computer with 512 mb of ram and it is much faster..is this normal for mac?? Also, apple says there is nothing they can/wil do even though i got the apple care....i mean really? $50.00 for 2002 computer with windows XP and 512mb of ram and a single core processor......faster and more usable than $1400.00 computer with 4gb of ram and dual core processor.....***???

Error downloading itunes - can't find my server (old work computer)
I have a desktop that used to be my work computer so it was hooked into our work network. Usually when I download applications it gives me an option of where to save it so I can bypass the problem of it saving the file to the work server which I am no longer connected to. However, after I successfully download the itunes setup.exe file, when I double click it to begin the install of itunes, my only options are run or don't run the application. when i try to run it, I get an error message: "could not acces network location \\jgp2srv1 blah blah\MyDocuments" why is the installer looking for it in the first place and how do I get around it? I've already called the company tech support and they can't help me.

I can't pull up purchased content without this - You can download past purchases on this computer with just one Apple ID every 90 days. This computer can be used with a different Apple ID in 60 days. - my ID hasn't changed
You can use multiple AppleIDs to purchase new music but you are limited as to how frequently you can change authorizations for re-downloading past purchases. It may well be a measure to deter piracy by stopping a group of people from going around to a friend's computer and downloading purchases on the other person's computer. It is easy to avoid by making sure you have backup copies on drives at home so you never need to redownload anything.

I'm running Lion on a 15" 500gb Spring 2011 MBP. Ran Disk Utility and got this message. Since I don't have an install disk for Lion, what do I do? Thanks!
P.S. I searched the database and all questions with this were pre-Lion.Restart your Mac and press command R.
This brings up the invisible Rescue/Install partition placed on your drive when Lion was installed.
Alternatively, you can hold down the Option Key at Startup and choose "Recovery HD".
In either case, proceed as if you had booted from a DVD, answer only the "What Language" question, but do NOT Install. Wait for the MenuBar to be drawn and choose Disk Utility from the Utilities menu. -
I need to move my apps, etc from one computer to another but I can't? Help!
I recently upgraded my phone from an iphone 3gs to and iphone 4s.
At the same time I thought it was the right time to move my itunes from my old laptop (which has no wireless) to a new laptop with wireless so it would be easier to up and download music, etc.
So I had to first sync my Iphone 3gs on my old computer to back everything up but now i have my new phone I can't see any of the apps on my new computer - I tried the homeshare option but all I can see is the music.. I cannot see anything else.
I wouldn't mind just starting over but I don't see why I should pay for some apps twice!
I would really appreciate some help from someone because also what has happened now is the stupid adapter they give you to transfer your info from your iphone 3 to your iphone 4 has damaged my ihpone 3 and it no longer reads my sim card!
Anyone got any tips?

TheresaInstalling iTunes and signing in to your account does not move your library to a new computer!
The easiest way to move your library between machines is to backup your library to an external drive, then restore that backup to the new machine.
See this User Tip for a suitable backup tool. As long as all the media is inside the iTunes Media folder which in turn is inside the main iTunes folder then the library can be restored to any location with enough room. If the media has been split out into one or more alternate locations then to successfully restore the library all the media must be restored to identical paths to those it was backed up from. You can use the same tool to restore the library to the new machine.
After confirming that your library is working properly on your new machine you should deauthorize the old one if you no longer need to access protected content on it.

I have manually installed Quicktime. I have verified the installation by successfully playing a movie at http://trailers.apple.com/. Still, http://www.merriam-webster.com/audio.php?file=test0001&word=test&text=\%CB%88test\ shows an error message:

Clicking the button shows that Quicktime is required!!!
I recently restored my Windows Registry, so maybe Firefox or Quicktime are getting confused. Nobody should rely on the Registry being correct!
I am stuck, like so many others.Your System Details List shows the QuickTime plugin as installed.
You may have to check the QuickTime to make sure that you have enabled this file type for QuickTime.
