I need to delete local e mail folders, how do I do it?

I have many old e mail folders, filled with old e mails, no longer wanted.
I have to scroll down past many of these to find the folder I am after. How do I delete these unwanted & old folders?

Firefox is just a web browser and has no built-in email features, any email accessed through Firefox will be a webmail based system. Any features of the email will be part of the webmail service that you are using. You will need to contact the support for the email service to see how to delete the folders.

Need help deleting graphic junk mail

I need help. I cannot delete graphic junk mail into trash. When I try it says unable to move messages. Messages could not be moved to mailbox trash. And the dial keeps spinning. I'm not getting mail cuz this junk is bogging down my iPad & iPhone.
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. I tried going on my MAC and deleting but they dont show up there?!? I tried rebooting, hard reset, nothin.
Please anyone out there ? I'd be eternally grateful.

If you cannot delete them on the Mac, it will probably be problematic trying to delete them on the iPad as well.
You said you couldn't delete them on the Mac either. If you mean in the Mac mail app, don't delete them there. Delete them on the server in your web browser. Launch Safari - or whatever browser you use on the Mac and then go to your web mail and delete the email there.

Mail folders - how to promote, demote

With my iMac it seems quite easy to promote and demote mail folders. I also use a Tashiba Satelite tablet computer running Windows 7 and access email via iCloud. The issue I have come across with the tablet is not being able to promote or demote mail folders. Creating new folders is easy, but managing existing ones is what I haven't found the procedure for. Can someone help?

Which folders are you expecting? My Earthlink account is a POP3 account so there is not way to add any MBs. With an IMAP account you can creat MBs on a computer/webmail and they get reflected on the iPad but not for POP3 accounts.

Need some help with getting mail folders into Maverick please???

I have finally gotten my old Snow Leopard files transferred to Maverick partition on my hard drive but my mail did not pull over the old saved mailboxes with saved emails. How can I get those old saved emails into Mavericks so I can quit using Snow Leopard all together? The top picture below are my mailboxes you can see in Snow Leopard on the left of the screen (seems to have copied over the mail in my in-box but not my saved mailboxes. the second picture is what shows in Maverick. Can someone direct me on how to get my saved emails to Maverick please? All help is greatly appreciated and make the instructions simple, not real tech savy so need exact instructions. Also, is there any way to not group mail from the same person/company in a folder? Can't seem to find in preferences where you can get each email on a separate line. For instance if I get several emails from Apple Support it groups them into one folder and I would just as soon have them all listed separately in mail. Thanks again, Gary

I was so confused and now more aware of what is going on. I wasn't familiar with users vs. partitions I guess and was swiveling and seeing different things than when restarting and couldn't figure out what was going on. Easy question. Easy there a vbscript to delete all files and (sub)folders, empty or not. Important, here is that the parent folder must NOT be deleted, only it´s contents. (important: this folder is located on a mapped share \\servername\foldername\)

You can't currently delete an account, all you can do is remove your personal info from it and stop using it - any content that you bought/downloaded via it will remain tied to that account, so if you ever want to authorise it on a new computer then you will need to remember the id and password

On your iPhone go to Settings > Video and enter the correct home sharing informaiton (your apple id and password) in the appropriate fields. You may have to scroll to the bottom to see this. Also, do this in the Settings > Music app. The home sharing account should match what you put into your iTunes application when you enabled it. If the account used is no longer valid, just enter the correct account and you should be all set.

Found the answer. I had to visit every site again to restore the favicons. I won't be using Cookie. I will go back to Cookie Monster, which does not work reliably. But it is better than nothing.

How do I delete an Apple mail toolbar icon

I need to delete the 'Archive' mail icon from the toolbar. The help pages all say just click and drag it out but it will not work. It is also impossible to rearrange the order of the toolbar for the same reason as the icons will not drag.

HT201250 How do I find and delete local backups. This is taking up over 200g of space on my MBP

I recently looked at my hard disc drive and backups were taking over 200gb of space. I used the terminal command to stop taking local backups, but when I rechecked disc space it only moved the space from backup to other.
Is there a way to find and delete this files? Then I can start fresh with Time Machine.

You don't need to delete local snapshots. They're delete automatically when free space falls below a certain level.

XP/DW CS4 - Delete Local Files In Site View

Hi - I've recently begun using a PC for webdesign at work (coming from OSX).
When I am in "Site View" in DW CS4 and I delete a file or folder locally from my PC's HD it takes a really long time (aprox 1.5 minutes) to complete. Sometimes this actually causes DW to crash completely.
Not to start a flame war or anything but on my Mac this feature works beautifully - DW has no problem playing nicely with the finder. Anyone know how I can resolve this other than leaving DW and going to Windows Explorer to delete local files and folders?
