I just wanted to know if I rent a movie and I later I decide that I want to buy it, Am I going to need to download it once for the rental and a second time for the purchase?

You will need to redownload it - rentals expire and are deleted, either 30 days after renting it, or 48 hours (24 hours if you are in the US) after starting to watch it, whichever is the soonest.

  • How can I download a driver for a Brother printer DCP-J411ODW for Mac OSX 10.9.1?

How can I download a driver for a Brother printer DCP-J411ODW for Mac OSX 10.9.1? I go to the right place on the Brother website and instead of downloading a driver it says there is a problem. Also something I did download and stuff on the CD provided with the printer is for a PC not a MAc. Help please.

OK, connecting a Wi-Fi printer is a 2 step process.
    Connect printer to your network
Have computer to "see" printer on the network.
Follow Apple's steps for connecting a Wi-Fi printer in Printing in OS X. Read the article in it's entirety before installing.

  • Need swappable CD rom drive for the Satellite 230CX

After hours trawling the net, I still haven't found the part number for the swappable cdrom drive for the Satellite 230CX.
Sadly a couple of sites say it's the PA2659U / XM-1402B, so I bought one from eBay, and it doesn't fit!
Any help would be appreciated with either the straight answer or a pointer to a parts list.
    Cheers.

    Its an oldie.
I dont found any information about this notebook.
But usually it should be possible to order the supported and compatible CD rom part from the Toshiba service partner in your country.

  • I need a windows 7 driver for the PCI 8335

I bought a PXI system years ago, controlled by a very old computer via a fiber optic link with a pci card.  I want to use updated computers, and bought a PCI extension that I can use with laptops, but I cannot find the driver for the PCI card on the NI website.  If anyone knows where it might be lcated please let me know.

I managed to find this KB on MXI-4, but the results might be the same for MXI-3.

From your profile, you have an iPad.  There is an app you would need to download to the iPad to set the AE up from there.  From an iMac, the software is already included.

  • How can I download a driver for a Brother printer HL2270DW for Mac OSX 10.9.1?

I recently purchased a Brother printer HL2270DW and am running Mac OSX 10.9.1.  The brother website has a download available, but in the process of adding the printer I get the error message that "Can't install the software because it is not currently available from the Software Update server."  Any ideas?

Just found a solution which involves resetting the printer settings:
    To Reset the Printer Setting:
    1) Open "System Preferences"
    2) Select the "Print & Scan" pane
    3) Right click (or control click) anywhere in the "Printers" window (in the white space below any of your existing printers)
    4) Select "Reset Printing System..."
That will reset the printing settings, and should happen immediately. You'll know if it worked because any existing printers you had previously set up will disappear from your printers list. Once the system has been reset, click on the "Add printer" button and add the printer that you're trying to add.
As any other printers you had previously added are deleted you'll have to add them again.
    Hope that helps

I have tried various things - the import facility does not seen to be right to help - I've copied the favorites folder over but it is not seen
    Help appreciated.

It depends upon the version of Firefox you had on Windows 98.The last version that officially ran on Windows 98 was Firefox 2. In Firefox 2 bookmarks are stored in a file called bookmarks.html inside the profile folder. The normal location to find the profile folder in Windows 98 is inside this folder - C:\Windows\Application Data\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles\
The name of the profile folder is normally a string of random characters followed by .default, if you open that folder you should find the bookmarks.html file. You can import that file into your current computer by following the procedure in this link - https://support.mozilla.com/kb/Importing+Bookmarks+from+an+HTML+File
If you had Firefox 3 on Windows 98, bookmarks are stored in a file called places.sqlite. If you have that file, you can copy it from your old profile folder and place it in your profile folder on the Windows XP computer, replacing the one that is already there. For details of how to find the profile folder on Windows XP see https://support.mozilla.com/kb/Profiles

  • Driver for the PEN ONLY! (x61t windows 8)

    Hey fellas,
I need your held desperately! 6 months ago I bought a X61t and installed windows 8. After a few minutes of browsing the web, I have found a driver for the pen-function which worked perfectly.
Yesterday I upgraded the X61t with a SSD. Due to the fact that I only use it for the University, their have not been any important data on the HDD so I decided not to back up the HDD and do a whole new set up on the SSD.
Now I'm browsing over one day and I cannot find a driver which satisfies me.
Some of the drivers make the pen work, but the trackpad useless. The mouse is "bouncing" through the screen, till I "stop" it, by tapping with the pen somewhere. Another strange thing is, in the last 6 months ONLY the trackpad and the pen worked. With some of the drivers, the display recognizes my hand, but only in a very inappropriate way, so using the hand to control something is not possible.
Now I'´m very disappointed that I cannot find my "old" driver, which worked perfectly! The only thing I know about the old driver is its name in the windows control panel: "Stifttablett" which is german and means "pen-tablet".
I would love you guys, if you can send me a link or something with a driver, that makes ONLY the pen work (as my old one)! I don't want to use multitouch with my fingers, because it is simply not working!
I hope you guys understood what I mean, becaue I'm from Germany and I don't use my english that often!
    Cheers

You should be able to install the wireless driver by using the Recovery Manager.
You can access the Recovery manager from either the Recovery disk set or the usb Recovery media you should have already created.
The Recovery manager can also be invoked by using the Search charm and typing in Recovery and then clicking on the Recovery manager icon to the left that appears. Select the reinstall drivers and applications selection and choose the wireless driver.
You can also access the recovery manager by pressing the power button and immediately tapping the Esc keyto invoke the startup menu. In the startup menu choose the F11 key for the Recovery Manager to start. Again you should choose the Reinstall Drivers and Applications option.
I will let HP know about the lack of drivers. Give it a few days as this is the weekend.

  • How come the driver for the validiy sensor has an older version but newer release date

Can someone please explain why the driver for the finger print reader has an older date but a newer version?
The one on HPs website := Driver Version 4.4.234.0 and Driver Date 24/09/2012.
Yet the one on my P.C. := Driver Version 4.5.235.0 and Driver Date 22/07/2009.
Is it worth updating or not?
    I can't seem to get the add-on working on I.E. 11.0.3
    Any advice appreciated.

    Spyke,
    Welcome to the HP Forum.
    Short Answer:
If you are running the same version of the Operating System that you were running when the driver was installed, then it is likely your driver is fine as it is.
    Based on your Example:
If you have upgraded your Operating System, and you are using Windows 8 or Windows 8.1 AND your system is among those supported by the "newer" driver, then you should upgrade.
    Long Answer:
There are several Validity Sensor Drivers of this same revision - in the case of sp58869 , the driver has been issued as a compatible driver for the HP Envy M6 for both Windows 8 and Windows 8.1.   The change might have required additional supporting libraries used with the driver and did not require changes to the driver software itself.
You didn't say which computer model you have nor the version of Windows you are running.
It is true the specific driver within the version class might make a difference if you have updated your Operating System since your own driver was issued for your computer.
It is true that reinstalling a "same version" driver can help if the driver on your system is corrupted.  Driver corruption is normal to some extent -- leave a driver on a Windows computer long enough and one or two of the zillions of instructions can corrupt, links can be lost; data can become unstable due to library changes or registry errors.
Drivers control hardware.  The fingerprint driver only controls the fingerprinter.
Software provides a means for the user to interact with the computer in an organized environment.
    ===========================================================================================
Sometimes a perfectly good driver can "look bad" -- certain data persists from boot to boot.  This is normal and the fact that some data is immediately available at boot means the computer starts up faster and that the Operating System is available sooner to the user of the computer.
When things in the boot-to-boot instruction set get tangled, then things may stop working:  TouchPad, mouse (external), fingerprint software, maybe even the keyboard.  The login data profile for the user account may not set up properly.
Driver Reset / Clean-the-cobwebs off the computer:
Close all your programs and Shut down the computer
Disconnect everything (little Unifier for the keyboard / external mouse can stay)
Perform the Hard Reset for your notebook
Boot the computer and log in
    Next...
If Internet Explorer 11 is a recent update from a previous version, and even if this is not an upgraded IE issue, it is important that you be running the most recent version of your fingerprint Software.
I am assuming a lot here -- including that you are running HP SimplePass Version 6.x.

  • Driver for an HP printer said to be missing

The laptop is a Dell Inspiron, Windows 7, 64 bit.  The HP printer attached is an all-in-one 4500G510n-z.  The printer has been connected, first by a USB cable to set it up, and then wirelessly.  Diagnostics done on the printer indicates it is correctly connected.  In control panel, devices and printers, the icon for the computer shows a yellow triangle indicating a problem.  When I run troublshooting to determine the problem, it finally states that there is no driver installed for the printer.
I downloaded the latest update for the solution center for HP printers, and after running through the program and trying to download a driver for the printer, it finally stated that the latest driver was already installed.
So HP says the driver is installed, and the computer troubleshooter says it is not.  I am at a loss about what to do.
Further, when I connect the printer using a USB cable and try the network diagnostics and ask it to print the results, paper goes through the printer and comes out completely blank.
I would really appreciate any help in solving this problem or problems.

  • Where can I download a Windows 7 64bit driver for the hp CDDVDW TS-L633N on my cpq60-615DX

    EDIT --
I neglected to say that I tried updating the driver from the Device Manager device window and the result was a message saying it could not find a newer driver, that the one installed was correct.
    Another EDIT
I also did not say that I  have uninstalled the device, through Device Manager. Upon restarting the system, the drive was found and software installed but the problem remains.
    Original message follows:
    System: CPQ60-615DX

In the process of installing some Roxio software, Creator 9, an unusable driver, are part of one, was installed. Now the device is not working.
When I didn't see on the list of devices on Windows Explorer, I went to Device Manager and found that it was flagged with the "problem" icon (exclamation  point on a yellow background).
The General Tab Device Status box contains"
A driver (service) for this device has been disabled.  An alternate driver may be providing this functionality. (Code 32)

It appears that the Creator install installed part of the driver but not one that functions. It might be a problem with Windows 7 or the fact that this install is 64 bits.
I have searched the HP site and can't find a driver for the device. When I look at the list of drivers available for this system, the optical drive is not shown.
I downloaded and installed the HP driver search program - or whatever it is called - and ran it. There were no devices listed on "Optical Drive" tab when I looked at the results - it could not "see" the drive.
I realize that what I need is probably a generic driver from MS, that's why one is not shown on the HP site, but how do I go about finding the right one for this device?
Is there a generic "one size fits all" driver for Windows 7 which can drive this device?
Any assistance will be greatly appreciated.

I used to work on my 3000 photos with GIMP on a P.C, but since I had a breakdown, I would like to carry on on my Mac as soon as possible.
Figuring out unaided a new OS after a breakdown is the best prescription for another breakdown.
Before going back to editing your photos, I suggest you need to familiarise yourself with your new OS. Get a book (eg, David Pogue's "Missing Manual…") -- now, that Lion's been out and about for some time, you can probably get the Snow Leopard (aka Mac OS X v10.6) edition at a discount. Take the time to read it and understand it, and you'll spare yourself a mountain of frustration. There are enough similarities between Mac OS X and Windows to fool you into believing almost everything works the same way, when, of course, it doesn't -- many similarities are only skin-deep.
Once you've done that, you'll be in a better position to install and use GIMP or look for alternatives.
where do I find the exact version (in french)
For French issues, you are probably better off checking the forums on MacBidouille or MacGeneration.

I've been using the latest Nvidia. There is a method to the madness of how to uninstall/delete and install graphics drivers, or madness in the method. The W7 drivers are easier.
Nope. Something else. More sensitive to disk errors. You aren't running a program to boost fans. Something.
And some AV software is more prone to causing trouble. But all you need is a good AV/malware program, and even Norton AV 2009 is acceptable, or Avast or one of the others.
