I need to download an icloud backup (from 4 months ago) to my computer

lost ALL my photos and i'm hoping the icloud back up has the photostream photos. please guide me on how to download the back from my iphone 5 to my windows pc

Camera Roll photos in an iOS backup and Photo Stream are two different things.  If your Photo Stream has the photos that you want to recover back to your PC, you can do that by installing "iCloud Control Panel" software, which will put your Photo Streams onto your PC.
But note that your main Photo Stream is temporary, so if there are important photos there then copy them out to a permanent folder on your computer.  Also, get in the habit of transferring new iPhone photos to your computer on a regular basis, as you would any digital camera.

  • Time Machine deleting backups from several months ago (but not the oldest)?

During its "Cleanup" phase, Time Machine has recently been deleting backups from several months ago—even though these aren't the oldest backups, and my backup drive isn't full.
My backups go back to January 2012, yet just today, Time Machine deleted backups from May 21, June 11, July 2, and July 23 (all in 2012). And plus, my Time Machine drive still has 200 GB free.
Why's it doing this? Shouldn't it just either delete my backups from January 2012 first (if it needs the space), or just delete the expired backups in the past 24 hours or 30 days (based on its normal rules)?

  • Backup from 6 months ago and tonight available not from this morning

    Hello,
I have an iphone 3G and a Windows 7 OP. I synchronised the iphone in the morning I did the same in the evening and everything is gone. So I browsed to the folder MobileSync and I found a folder from 6 months ago and the current one which has no data besides the standard.
My question how can this happen and might the relevant backups be stored somewhere else or is there any other possible way to get my backup from this morning?

    Hi,
The backups are stored in iTunes. From the iTunes menu bar click iTunes / Preferences - Devices.
is there any other possible way to get my backup from this morning?
If that backup is present in the iTunes / Preferences - Devices window, you should be able to use the Restore function from the Summary tab in the iTunes menu.

  • Does icloud save iphone backups from 8 months ago?

I need information from about 8 months back for a legal dispute . So I want to restore my phone data from that time using icloud to retrieve the information .

iCloud will save your three most recent backups of a particular device.
If the third oldest backup is three days ago, that's as far back as you can go.
If the third oldest backup is two years ago, that's as far back as you can go.
What type of information are you trying to access?

  • Is it possible to backup my current iphone to icloud backup from 2 years ago?

I recently lost my boyfriend in an accident and was hoping to recover photos of him from my phone that I had in 2013. Is the data still available somewhere to be backed up to my iPhone I am using now? I am currently using an iPhone 4s and don't see a date that far when I look under manage storage. The phone I had in 2013 was an iPhone 5. Thank you for your help!

You will have to use the Apple ID and password that has been used to set up his iPhone to restore it from the backup.
And the iOS on your phone has to be at least the same version. Backups made by a newer iOS version can't be used on an older iOS device unless this device is updated.

  • Is it possible to restore Ipod touch to a backup from a month ago?

Help, I am no computer wiz and have managed to attempt to update my software and whipped out my music library.  In the process the system backed up so the current backups are blank.  Is there a way to restore a back up from a few months ago that I know contained everything?

I still think there may be a way to restore a prior backup somehow as the manual (Appendix A support and other information  page 215) for the Ipod touch says that the "previous data is no longer accessible through ipod touch user interface , but is isn't erased from ipod touch." It also makes refercence to "if you choose and old backup" but I can't find anything on getting to older backups. Any ideas anyone?

  • I want to download my iCloud backup (from iPhone) to my Mac

Hi I got my iPhone stolen for the 2nd time in 3 Months now. And will definetly buy another one when I have cash again, for now I just try to life with a blackberry and an iPad mini. But I got the problem now that my iCloud storage reached its limit and I would like to delete my iPhone backup but keep it on my Computer for my next iPhone. I already read thrugh different forums that said its not possible but please someone tell me the magic trick!!!

Thats so stupid!!! Please Apple if you read this make this possible in the next iOS version at least!!! It would be simply great to have the possibility to store different versions of the backup via iTunes or what ever and make something like timemaschine possible on the iPhone, so that there is not just the most recent version of your backup availeble and also accesible via a mac or pc! So many people get there iPhone stolen every day its horrible!!!! Give them acces to there data at least!

  • Just restored backup from a month ago by accident is there anyway I can get all my stuff back ? I don't have iCloud ?

BBasically what I've done is the question

I'm not sure about older versions, but in Pages 3.x (OS X 10.9.x) select File > Revert To > Browse All Versions.  Hopefully there will be an earlier version that you can "revert to".

  • How can I restore my latest iCloud backup from my iPhone 4 to my new iPhone 5?

How can I use the my latest iCloud backup from my iPhone 4 to update all my apps on my new iPhone 5?  I just registered it and it is a later version of the backup.  Can I reboot it now that I have a more current backup from my iPhone 4?

Restoring to an iCloud backup has to be done in the initial setup process.  If you have already set up your iPhone 5 you will have to erase it and go back through the setup again.  If you have any data on your phone now that is not in the backup that you are restoring to you'll need to do that first.  Then go to Settings>General>Reset and tap Erase All Content and Settings.  You will then go through the setup screens as you did when the phone was new. When given the option, choose Restore from iCloud Backup (see image below).  Be sure you are connected to wifi and your charger as this will take some time to finish.

  • My icloud backup from iphone 4 abnormal size. What is using that space?

My icloud backup from iphone 4 uses 2,9GB of data even with all backup of apps are set to off including camera roll. I have tried to delete the backup a few times to no awail as the new backup is as large as before. I have an Ipad that only uses 700mb approx same settings but with most of the apps syncing.
Both the phone and the ipad have some 300apps on them but since we arent syncing the actual apps i guess it doesnt matter.
    Mail sync off
    Contact sync on
    Calendar sync on
    Reminders sync on
    Bookmarks sync on
    Notes sync off
    Photo stream on
    Documents and data off
    Find my iphone on
The above are the same for both phone and ipad and should not be affecting total backup size?
    Best Regards
    Mr.Riwa

Being able to back up to the cloud can be very useful, especially if you don't have access to a computer or have infrequent access to one, however unless you specifically need to use iCloud for back up, you will find backing up to iTunes significantly more convenient and possibly more reliable.
Alternatively, if you delete your existing iCloud back up and start the back up again, the next back up will be the same size as the phone tells you is needed to perform that back up.

  • Install iCloud backup from iPhone 4 6.1.3 to new iPhone 5 6.0.1 won't work.

I'm trying to install my icloud backup from my iPhone 4 os 6.1.3 to my new iPhone 5 os 6.0.1.
When I put in my iCloud info into my iPhone 5, it tells me that no backups are compatible with the iOS of the new phone.
What can I do to get the iCloud backup on my phone (the iTunes backup dates back to septembre 2012 so it's not an option).
    Thank you!

Upgrade your iphone 5 to the newest IOS.  Then you can restore using the iphone 4 backup.

I am trying to do an iCloud backup from my computer.  I have been unable to do a backup from a wifi as I keep getting message that it cannot be completed.  What is the secret to doing this from my computer, with my iphone plugged into same?

How are you trying to do it from your computer?  Try plugging it into your charger while connected to wifi, then either lock the screen and wait (it should backup up ever 24 hours) or go to Settings>iCloud>Storage & Backup and tap Back Up Now.
