  • Appropriate iPhoto for Snow Leopard?

I primarily use Snow Leopard, OS X 10.6.8.  I'd like to use iPhoto but can't - trying to launch iPhoto 9.4.2 tells me that I need os 10.4 and above, and trying to use iPhoto 8.1.2 tells me that there is a problem and then shows lots of diagnostic information.  Some where  in the discussions I learned that I need iPhoto 9.2.3.  So, I went to the App store and searched for iPhoto 9.2.3 and got no results.  So, two questions:  is iPhoto the appropriate iPhoto for Snow Leopard?  If so, where can I get it?

I'm sorry but I'm not clear on what version of the OS you actually have.
With 10.6.8 you can go to iPhoto v9.3.2 - to get that you'll need to purchase an iLife 11 install disk. The App Store only has the latest version, (v9.4.2) which only runs on 10.7.5 or later.

  • What is current version iPhoto for Snow Leopard?

What is the current version of iPhoto for Snow Leopard?  I have used iPhoto ever since 10.6.8 was installed --use Software Update all the time, my current iPhoto says it's v. 8.3.1.  Now, suddenly, when I try to open iPhoto, messages says : " The photo library needs to be upgraded to work with this version of iPhoto. Your photo library will not be readable by previous versions of iPhoto after the upgrade. The upgrade process may take several minutes depending on the number of photos in the library.  (choices are)  Quit - - Upgrade"
I am fearful to click the upgrade because I have assumed iPhoto was up-to-date for this OS 10.6.8.  Fearful, because I envision losing the whole iPhoto library.   I was in our local reseller/retailer yesterday and was encouraged  to "just go ahead and click it!"  but tho' I'm not a nerd, I need to understand what's going on here !  WIll appreciate any thoughtful counsel . . .

9.2.3, which is part of iLife '11.

  • Where can I download xcode for snow leopard?

Where can I download xcode for snow leopard?

I am a paid member of the developer program, and Xcode 4.2 for Snow Leopard does not appear in the downloads area. I just joined today and received email confirmation, but perhaps this update to my account has not worked its way through to Apple's back-end yet. Nevertheless, it appears that Xcode 4.2 for Snow Leopard is not available any more to anyone, whether they are paid members or not.

  • What do I need to be ready for Snow Leopard?

I have an Intel Mac Pro with OS X 10.5.8.  What do I need to do to be ready for Snow Leopard?  Specifically, do I need to do an intermediate OS X upgrade?
    Thanks.
    David

    PLEASE tell people what model.
And no one knows but it is possible that Pre-2008 model will not be supported as they lack UEFI.
It is possible to boot ML even so but that could change. MacPro 1,1 and 2,1 likely will not be supported, those models dont' support 64-bit kernel mode.
My guess, stay where you are until you need to or buy a new Mac.

    Hi all,

I'm a programmer (small programmer ), but I'm not an expert with Mac but I want tot start to "study" the App world (just for fun )
I have a Macbook and I want to try to use Xcode. I have Snow Leopard (10.6.2) OS but I can find Xcode 4.X only for Lion OS!!!
Is possibile to download XCode 4 for Snow Leopard? And where is possible to download?
    Thanks for help!

AFAIK the 3.2.6 is still available with a free Developer Account>Navigate to Developer Tools. Only question is can one still get a free developer account. I think so. Here it is: Register for free.

  • Does anyone know where to find and download xcode for Snow Leopard?

I need to access Xcode but it's not in App Store anymore. Any tips will be great.

    Welcome to Apple Support Communities
You can register as a free Apple developer in http://developer.apple.com, access to the Mac Dev Center and download Xcode 3 from there with Snow Leopard compatibility. This is the only way of getting Xcode 3, apart from the Snow Leopard disc or the DVDs that came with your Mac

  • IPhoto for Snow Leopard?

I'm selling my '07 Macbook Pro with Snow Leopard to a family member. They want iPhoto, but I can't buy it from the App Store because the latest one (iPhoto '11) is not compatible with Snow Leopard. I tried buying Mountain Lion, but that OS is not compatible with my computer.
Any thoughts how I can get iPhoto on this computer without buying an old version second-hand? This computer still has great life in it, but according to Apple it is obsolete. I guess it wasn't worth $2,499.00 after all.

There isn't any version of iPhoto on this computer because it has been wiped and a fresh OS installed. (All of my Apps and data are on my new computer). iPhoto doesn't come standard as part of Snow Leopard OS, which is merely 3 years old. I can install a very OLD iPhoto (probably 6) that I have, but that is not ideal. Or I could find version 8 or 9 that works with Snow Leopard so my sister can use it. Here is my sister's scenario... Husband has recent Macbook Pro with latest iPhoto. Sister wants her own Mac (uses PC primarily for work) and they want to share same iPhoto Libraries on networked drive. BUT.... Sister has no way to access iPhoto Library from latest version because she cannot install latest version of iPhoto on her used computer, which still runs great with Snow Leopard.
By the way, I had purchased iPhoto '11 (version 9.2.1) in December 2011 and installed it FINE on this Snow Leopard computer. Now, suddenly, 9.3.2 cannot be installed on this same computer. If I login to the App Store, it wants to install 9.3.2 instead of 9.2.1 (which I purchased). VERY frustrating. The lifecycle of Apple's hardware and software is becoming increasingly short (and expensive!)

  • Where do I find videos in iPhoto for Snow Leopard?

I download my photos into iPhoto and then can't find any videos I've done. Where are they?

Thanks again for the response. I have iPhoto 11 and since my upgrade with the new Macbook Pro, the thumbnails in iPhoto don't have the little camera to identify the videos from the pictures. I happened to have iMovie open and I uploaded again and this time it put all the videos in there. I was so jazzed. I even archived them for good measure.
Then, when I went to show my discovery, I went to disconnect the camera in the middle of the video showing and it stopped. The window went away.  iMovie has a folder for the stuff I archived, but no trace of the videos. I knew I archived it, but when I went to look for it, I can't find it!!!!!! So not liking this "user friendly Mac" right now! Does anyone have any answers? I live in the jungle of Brazil where I can't get geeks on a regular basis. Any help is much appreciated!
    Much appreciated!!! Thanks!

  • How to download Keynote for Snow Leopard?

    Hi,
I purchased Keynote in July and now wanted to start using it on my iMac. When I wanted to download, I had to realise that there is only a version for Mountain Lion available in the App Store.
Where can I download the version for an older OS?
    Thanks for any help,
    M. Shinoto

your only option  to buy an older version is from places like Ebay

  • HT4163 Need iPhoto 9.0 for Snow Leopard 10.6.8

I have an old macbook running 10.6.8.  I want iPhoto version 9 ('11), but all I can find in the app store is version 9.3, which only runs on Lion.  I want iPhoto for Snow Leopard.  I can see no reason why Apple has forsaken Snow Leopard. There is no reason why the App store can't have version 9.0 so both Lion and Snow Leopard users can buy it and update it to suit individual needs.  Does anyone know how to get version 9.0 for Snow Leopard online?

Just a follow-up.  I did purchase iLife '09 on eBay and it works smoothly. A few hiccups. I mistakenly did an "upgrade install" of OS X, twice.  "Upgrade installs" take a long, long time to do, and in the end, just don't work.  It turned out that the utilities menu that I needed to access in order to reformat and do a "clean install' was pushed right off the screen where I could not see it, due to a faulty video driver matchup on the install disk.  The result was that I wasn't sure what kind of install I was doing.
So, now I have a mini-Mac that works just like it used to, but really with no perceptible advantage to what I had before, just a few bucks lighter, and many hours of effort.  The good news is that my older mini-Mac (read the Apple fine print carefully on which Intel processors do and don't work) will run Snow Leopard, albeit a little slower than Tiger.  Hopefully, Apple technology and the various software upgrades required to browse the Internet will stay compatible with Snow Leopard for a while yet.  But the Apple mini-Mac takes the cake for the poorest backward compatibility I've run across since I began with computers in the late 1960s.

  • Pages for Snow Leopard v10.6.8

Where can I download Pages for Snow Leopard v10.6.8?  I was about to download it from the App Store but then realised that Pages '09 v4.2 requires OS X v10.7.4 or later.
    Thanks.

Nowhere. You need to either purchase the DVD version or upgrade the computer's OS if possible.
