I need  to find Itunes 7 upgrades

its kind of a long sad story but in a nutshell:
when I upgraded to iTunes 8 it ate my most precious Playlists (it may seem odd to be so devoted to playlists but they had been created especially for me by my now deceased fiance)... now they're gone. I read a few threads on this site in which others complained of the same happenstance and so, I decided to downgrade back to v7 and use a Previous Library to hopefully restore them.
I was able to downgrade but the Previous Library that is the most promising seems to have been created by a version of iTunes greater than the v7.3 that I have installed.
I want to upgrade only as much as necessary to read this Library but without venturing into v8.0.
3 questions:
1. is there a way to determine what version of iTunes created the Library I'm unable to open?
2. is there a repository of earlier versions available somewhere? Or can I use Software Update to incrementally upgrade?
iTunes 9 keeps trying to entice me but I won't upgrade until I have a way to archive my playlists -- just in case.
3. I have a couple of those Playlists on my iPod but I'm afraid to connect it and, potentially, lose those as well. Are my fears justified?
thanks, in advance, for any help out there!

someone else will have to advise

iTunes 7 is available here http://www.versiontracker.com/dyn/moreinfo/macosx/10227&vid=317092
iTunes 7.7.1 here http://itunes.en.softonic.com/download-version/itunes-7.7.1

to prevent a sync when plugging in the iPod - hold down the option and the command keys when plugging in the ipod - hold the keys down until the iPod is listed under the devices list in iTunes
check this post by Zevoneer for information how to move content from your Pod to iTunes.
good luck !

You can't tell which device a purhcase was made on, but if your family members each have their own iTunes account to which your card is linked then you can check the purchase history on each of those accounts via the Store > View Account menu option on your computer's iTunes - that should have 'purchase history' section with a 'see all' link to the right of it

My Ipod touch does not apprear in my I tunes account, but a box does apprear that says I need to instand itunes 10.6.3.  When I go to the Itunes web site, all it has is the latest verison.  How do I find 10.6.3?

And, what version of OS X or Windows are you running, please?
    iTunes 10.6.3 for Mac.
iTunes 10.6.3 for Windows (64 bit).
Note that you may require installing a specific version of OS X for your Touch. Probably Snow Leopard.

  • I need to find out how to transfer all the music from my old IPOD to my new IPOD.  Not all of my music was purchased on ITUNES.

I need to find out how to transfer all my music from my original IPOD nano to my new IPOD nano.   I want to keep both and not all of my music was purchased on ITUNES.  Please help!

Your music should be in your iTunes library, that is how it gets synced to the iPod. If that music is not present in the iTunes library, you will need to get a 3rd party software for the computer to get the music off the original iPod and then move it to the iTunes library to be able to sync it to the new iPod. You can see some additional information in this tip supplied by a fellow user. Syncing to a "New" Computer or replacing a "crashed" Hard Drive

I don't think it's possible if you are stuck in recovery mode but I may be wrong...
Since your device qualifies for iOS 8(.1), that is the version that will be downloaded/restored to the iPad.
I do know that you can restore your iPad (from backup & as new) and keep the same iOS version if you restore using the iPad itself under Settings/Reset/Erase All Content and Settings but since you can't access this because your stuck in recovery mode, the point is moot.
Have you tried downloading the update in the middle of the night (2 am or so) where dropouts are much less likely to occur?
It's always possible to take your device in to an Apple Store (make a Genius Bar reservation first) and do the iOS update there in the Apple Store.. I'm sure they will gladly help you out with it and not charge you a thing. The trouble with that would be if you don't have an Apple Store nearby.
Sorry I couldn't be of any more help.

  • HT1420 Why can't iTunes show me which computers that are authorized?  Why do I need to find those computers?

With my kids all over the place, why do I need to find every computer that is authorized?  In order to deauthorize a specific computer, i need to find that computer and deauthorize it.  i should be able to access my account and see the computers that are authorized, and select one or two for deauthorization. As an alternative, I should be able to purchase an additional pack of authorizations for my account. The authorization process is poorly designed and hard to use.

If you have 2 or more computers authorised then you can log into your account on your computer's iTunes and 'deauthorise all' (which you can do once every 12 months) and you can then authorise/reauthorise the computers that you still have and need.
In terms of seeing a list of authorised computers and/or purchasing extra authorisations, you can try leaving feedback for Apple here : http://www.apple.com/feedback/itunesapp.html

I have turned two computers on to home sharing. I am now on this computer wanting to put my music on to this itunes and i know i need to find the other computer in the drop down menu from " Home Sharing " but that menu isnt there on the left?

If you have the horizontal menu bar showing (File, Edit, View,...), select View, then select Show Sidebar.
If the menu bar is not showing, dorp down the menu in the very upper left corner and select show menu bar, then follow steps above.
    Hope that helps.  Good luck.

  • I have mac os x 10.5.8. what upgrade do i need to install itunes 10.7

I have mac os x 10.5.8. what upgrade do i need to install itunes 10.7

Snow Leopard, if you can run it:
Requirements for OS X 10.6 'Snow Leopard'
    http://support.apple.com/kb/SP575
Whilst Apple have withdrawn Snow Leopard from download, you can still get it from Apple by calling 1-800-MY-APPLE (if you are in the USA) and they will supply the SL DVD for $30.  You can also purchase the code to use to download Lion from the same number.
If you are outside the US call your national Apple Helpline:
    http://support.apple.com/kb/HE57
If you're in the UK, use this number: 0871 508 4400
When you have installed it, run Software Update to download and install the latest updates for Snow Leopard.

  • HT1349 I need help finding an old library that itunes states my ipod is already linked to

I need help finding an old library that it states my ipod is already linked to.  My computer recently had a terrible virus and needed to be wiped clean.  I had to redownload itunes and I bought several songs.  I want to add them to my old library because I had several cd's that I had uploaded.  Is there a way to find that old library and combine them without having to erase all the songs that are currently on my ipod???  Thanks

Umm.  If you wiped the hard drive, then all old libraries are gone unless you have them on backup.

  • HT1338 Need to find out if I can upgrade my Mac

I need to find out if my Mac OS X 10.4 Tiger is going to be able to be upgraded so I can upgrade the latest versions of browsers. I am experiencing
problems trying to upgrade the latest versions because they are not compatible with my vintage system.. 5 years old doesn't seem vintage to me. My Mac still works great I can buy a new one.

    You can update it.
Start by checking if you can run Snow Leopard:
Requirements for OS X 10.6 'Snow Leopard'
    http://support.apple.com/kb/SP575
OS 10.6 Snow Leopard is once again available from the Apple Store:
    http://store.apple.com/us/product/MC573/mac-os-x-106-snow-leopard
    and in the UK:
    http://store.apple.com/uk/product/MC573/mac-os-x-106-snow-leopard
but nobody knows for how long it will be available.
To use iCloud you have to upgrade all the way to Mountain Lion:
    http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4759
You can also purchase the code to use to download Lion (Lion requires an Intel-based Mac with a Core 2 Duo, i3, i5, i7 or Xeon processor and 2GB of RAM, running the latest version of Snow Leopard), or you can purchase Mountain Lion from the App Store - if you can run that:
    http://www.apple.com/osx/specs/
When you have installed it, run Software Update to download and install the latest updates for Snow Leopard.

  • I need to find out dollar amount on iTunes "Give any amount" gift cards I purchased, store clerk did not write down the amounts

I need to find out dollar amount on iTunes "Give any amount" gift cards I purchased at CVS, store clerk did not write down the amounts when I purchased.

Without scratching them off to get the numbers and redeeming them there is no way for you to do so. You could go back to CVS and see if they can get the data from their computer or see if your receipt helps.

  • When upgrading iTunes I get an error that says can't find iTunes.msi. I get the same error when I try to uninstall itunes. I am using XP

How do I find iTunes, msi to upgrade or uninstall itunes?

Download the Windows Installer CleanUp utility from the following page (use one of the links under the "DOWNLOAD LOCATIONS" thingy on the Major Geeks page):
    http://majorgeeks.com/download.php?det=4459
To install the utility, doubleclick the msicuu2.exe file you downloaded.
Now run the utility ("Start > All Programs > Windows Install Clean Up"). In the list of programs that appears in CleanUp, select any iTunes entries and click "Remove", as per the following screenshot:
Quit out of CleanUp, restart the PC and try another iTunes install. Does it go through properly this time?

After upgrading to IOS 7 on my iPhone 4 and iTunes 11 on my PC, I plugged my iPhone into my PC and got the error message that I needed to install iTunes 11 on my iPhone. Any suggestions?

You got it downloaded and I assume you mean it is installed as well.  It was buggy for me.
I had to close and restarted iTunes before I could use it properly.
Then, I had to unplug and replug in my phone before it recognises it.
Just had to try everything.  As final choice, update over the air.  I try to avoid it as it tends to have more problems than a tethered update.
