I need to get adobe reader

I tried to insatal adobe reader but it seems I need iOS5.  Is that right ? What can I do to get PDF opened

Hi Neal,
You will need the iTunes software to perform this update. You can download a free copy from http://www.apple.com/itunes/download/. If you already have it, please make sure your iTunes is at Version 10.5. To check:
[Mac] In the top menu bar select iTunes > About iTunes
[Windows] In the top menu bar select Help > About iTunes
You can update you iOS with two ways 1. Update via iTunes 2. Manually update
1. Update via iTunes
     a). Open up iTunes.
     b).Connect your iPad to the computer via the provided USB cable.
     c). A Dialog should pop-up (if it does not, select “Check for Update” in the device description box). Select “Download and Update”. And that’s it. The process is automatic from           here and might take a while depending on your connection speed as the update file is approximately 700MB. Do not unplug your iPad during this process.
2. Manually Update
     a).Download the correct 5.0 Firmware/IPSW file for your iPad model from the direct download links below (provided directly from Apple).
          For iPad 1 : http://appldnld.apple.com/iPhone4/041-8357.20111012.DTOrM/iPad1,1_5.0_ 9A334_Restore.ipsw
          For iPad 2(Wi-Fi) :http://appldnld.apple.com/iPhone4/041-9618.20111012.Zxb22/iPad2,1_5.0_ 9A334_Restore.ipsw
          For iPad 2(Wi-Fi + 3G) : http://appldnld.apple.com/iPhone4/041-9619.20111012.y34Nx/iPad2,2_5.0_ 9A334_Restore.ipsw
    b).Open up iTunes.
    c).Connect your iPad to the computer via the provided USB cable.
    d). A Dialog should pop up. Select Cancel .
    e).[Mac] Hold down Option on your keyboard and select “Update”.
        [Windows] Hold down Shift on your keyboard and select “Update”.
          Instead of selecting ‘Update’, you can also try selecting ‘Restore’ if you are still getting update errors.
    f). Browse to where you downloaded the 5.0 Firmware/IPSW file and select it. Select “Choose”. The process is automatic from here and might take a while to complete           installation.
Hope this help you to download iOS 5 on you iPad.
Thanks

    Try the following:

    Download the EXE or the MSI installer from ftp://ftp.adobe.com/pub/adobe/reader/win/10.x/10.1.0/ and execute e.g. either of the following files:

  • I need to install Adobe Reader to take a course but I cannot get it to work

    I am trying to take a 3 hour course online and I have to download adobe reader.  I have done this or so my computer says I have, but still cannot get the information I need to take the course to work.  I get a message saying "if the I need to install adobe reader".
    How do I get this fixed? I need this course in order to renew my tradesman license.
    Thanks

    Are you expected to download files from the course to look at on your computer or will all of the course be done completely online? If the course takes place entirely online, what may be needed is the Adobe Reader plugins getting installed properly in Safari. Since you're posting this in the Yosemite forum we can assume your using Yosemite, not Snow Leopard (10.6.8), so the plugins may not automatically be working. Assuming Reader has actually been installed, take a look at the instructions Adobe gives for activating the plugins.
    BTW, do you have "Adobe Reader" in your Applications folder?

  • Can't Get Adobe Reader 8.1 to Open in Windows XP

    All of a sudden, I can't get Adobe Reader to open in the Windows XP environment on my laptop. Message: "Adobe Reader 8.1 has encountered a problem and needs to close..." [Error Signature: AppName: acrord32.exe AppVer: 8.1.0.137 ModName: mvcr70.dl ModVer: 7.0.9466.0 Offset: 000013d6] Have tried everything I could think of: uninstalling previous versions, reinstalling 8.1 from the website, disabling Norton 360 protection while downloading. Anybody know what gives and how to fix it?

    >When this many people are having this many problems with the program, Adobe has a problem.
    For every one person that's having a problem here, there could be fifty more that aren't.
    The ones that aren't typically don't come here and talk about it.
    >If you read through the Adobe Bulletin Boards you can see that there are many, many people having trouble with Adobe Reader 8.1.
    And if you read far enough to see the solutions, you'll notice a big trend in user errors.
    I'm not saying Reader doesn't have it's issues (sure it does), just saying that there are no more issues with it than there are with any application.

  • Can't get adobe reader to install on my new laptop with windows 8

    I can't get adobe reader to install onto my new laptop with windows 8. Basically what happens is that I start the download from the adobe screen by clicking the yellow download button, then I click run (I've also tried save and run), then I allow the program to make changes to my hard drive, and then finally a blank grey box appears in the in the middle of the screen, titled "adobe reader installer". After this box appears nothing else happens. I've let it sit for at least 30 minutes and still nothing. I've also disabled my pop up blocker, and set the security settings to default as suggested in other posts. Unfortunately this is the only pdf program that works for the site we have to use to write contracts, so I need to get this figured out asap. Thanks in advance for any help and advice.

    Try installing from http://get.adobe.com/reader/enterprise

  • How do I get Adobe reader to be recognized on my Devices and Printers?

    How do I get Adobe reader to be recognized on my Devices and Printers?

    CutePDFWriter is a third-party application, which Adobe doesn't provide support for. But, I did find the following on their website:
    "Requires PS2PDF converter such as Ghostscript (recommended).
    You can get the free GPL Ghostscript 8.15."
    Here's a link to their website:
    CutePDF :: Product :: CutePDF Writer
    So, it looks like it creates a PostScript file for you, but then you need additional software to convert the PostScript file to PDF.
    Best,

  • How to get Adobe Reader to work in browsers on linux

    I am running LMDE 64 bit on one PC and a X-enabled Ubuntu Server installation on another (also 64 bit).
    Is it possible, under either of these scenarios to get Adobe Reader plugin to work on any browser?
    I need to access pdf files using Adobe Reader inside a browser. My preference is Google Chrome, but happy to use Firefox too.
    Currently, when I use Chrome, I have turned off the built-in Chrome PDF Viewer, as it does not handle the forms I need to use. But now when selecting a pdf, the only option is to download and open it in Adobe itself, which also does not work for my needs.
    In Firefox, the settings for content handling on pdf only gives the option to open it outside of Firefox... again, no good.

    Hi

  • What HTML code do I need to get Adobe Flash to play an embedded MP4 video file (8 MB)?

    What HTML code do I need to get Adobe Flash to play an embedded MP4 video file (8 MB)?
    Thanks
    Mark

    Here are a couple of ways, one using the Netstream class and the other using the FLVPlayback component.
    For the NetStream approach, the following in the timeline code will play/loop the intended mp4 file...
         var video:Video;
         var connect_nc:NetConnection = new NetConnection();
         connect_nc.connect(null);
         var stream_ns:NetStream = new NetStream(connect_nc);
         stream_ns.client = this;
         function netStatusHandler(p_evt:NetStatusEvent):void {
             if (p_evt.info.code == "NetStream.Play.Stop") {
                 stream_ns.seek(0); // to loop the video
         stream_ns.addEventListener(NetStatusEvent.NET_STATUS, netStatusHandler);
         video = new Video();
         addChild(video);
         video.attachNetStream(stream_ns);
         stream_ns.play("path_to/your.mp4");
    For the FLVPlayback component, add it to the stage, give it an instance name ("fp" used below), assign your mp4 file ("path_to/your.mp4") as the source property in the Properties panel, and select the option to autoplay as well.  Place the following code in the timeline...
         fp.addEventListener(Event.COMPLETE, playAgain);
         function playAgain(evt:Event):void {
             fp.play();
    To put the Flash swf file in an html page, in the Publish Settings set it to publish an swf and an html page.  Publish the file an the html page will be created for you.

    You do. Your system is either Windows or Mac (or maybe a couple of other less popular choices) and a version of one or the other.
    When you set up your machine, you were asked for an administrator user name and password. You need both of these to install software.

    How do I open trial PS?  I get  "Adobe reader could not open Photoshop_13_LS16.7z because it is either not a supported file or because the file has been damaged..."  What am i doing wrong?

    the .7z extension is a compression format. If your system is trying to open it with Acrobat then somewhere along the line you system has tried to associate the .7z files with acrobat.
    You will need to download software to un-compress the .7z file. you can get a trial version of winzip for example or perhaps winrar - both of which will read that format. (do a Google search for either of these).
    During the installation of either of these you will get the opportunity to associate files with the correct program (including .7z).
    Once you have done that you should be fine.
    Cheers
