I need to get an account separate from my soon to be ex. Will I lose all my apps on my iPads and I phone?
My husband and I are on the same iTunes account but now that we are separating he wants me to get my own but I am afraid I will lose all my apps and music that I currently have on my ipad2 , my daughters iPad, and my iPhone? Any info or suggestions would be great!
You wont lose them...they'll still be on your device...you just wont be able to update or redownload them...this is why...people shouldnt share accounts.

It won't delete anyting, it will only change the ID.

In terms of the actual update, connect the iPad to your computer's iTunes and copy any purchases off the iPad to your computer via File > Transfer Purchases (File > Devices > Transfer Purchases on iTunes 11) - that should copy all of your apps (purchases or free) and other iTunes purchases over (music, films etc). You may also want to copy photos and any important documents off the iPad as well e.g. via the file sharing section at the bottom of the device's apps tab when connected to iTunes, via wifi, email, dropbox etc - they should be included in the backup, but it's best to have a copy of them outside of the backup just in case. You can then force a backup of the iPad by right-clicking the iPad 'Device' on the left-hand side of iTunes and selecting 'Backup'.
Then start the update by selecting the iPad on the left-hand side of iTunes (on iTunes 11 you can enable the left-hand sidebar via option-command-S on a Mac, control-S on a PC), and on the Summary tab on the right-hand side clicking the Check For Updates button

An iPad 1 will update to iOS 5.1.1, and an iPad 2 and 3 to iOS 6.0.1 - they are the only versions that are 'signed' by Apple for them. -

They can either share an Apple ID, or, if they create two seperate accounts, they can authorize the same computer with two different apple IDs so purchases across both accounts are accessible on the same machine.

I tried to install an itunes update yesterday on my Dell Laptop. I kept getting an error message. Now I cannot access itunes and it says I need to reinstall itunes. Will I lose all of my music?
Installing, and uninstalling, applications never touches or removes the data.
Clean out and uninstall all the apple programs and software thru Programs and manually.
Might want to use Revo and CCleaner
I always use manual standalone installers (and keep a couple backup versions)
itunes 10.5 may affect iTunes media playlists, not sure, depends on what you have.

I have my own icloud account separate from my family's apple ID for itunes. I need more storage for icloud...do I have to pay a separate $20/ month to get more storage or does the $20 include all members of the plan?

Just get copies of the song files and add them to your iTunes library. With the exception of any DRM-protected files (purchased before mid-2009 and never upgraded) they will play fine, even though they are technically associated with the original account. -

Either backup the contacts in iCloud or with a compatible programme on your computer (Outlook, Windows Contacts, Address Book etc).
Once done, sync the contacts to your new iPhone from that programme/iCloud.

If I use Boot camp to install windows do I need a windows disc, will i lose all my data, etc. If so how to I save them. Can I switch back to osx after I install windows. ( can I switch between Windows and OS X as many times as I want.) thanks for answering.
