I need to get rid of some songs on my playlist but...

itunes has a feature on where every song in my ipod is locked and i cant take it out or highlight the song. how would i turn this feature off so i can take some songs off my playlist? i did it before but i cant remember how

Ive downloaded loads of songs in my iPod playlist and now im planning to transfer all of em to my PC.I figured out how to transfer songs but now i have another problem.Apparantly when u update songs in a playlist in iPod, if u add same files to the playlist more than once, they will be added once to the iPod itself and it wont update the same song more than once.However, in the playlist it will show it more than once and so u can have duplicated (or more!) songs in the playlist. I want to see the playlist without duplicated songs so that i could download ONLY the songs in my playlist to my PC and not all of them.
has neone got a clue how to do that!?

You cannot edit the playlist while it is on the iPod.
You have to edit the plalist in iTunes and then resync it to the iPod.

I know it can be frustrating when you are waiting for content to download to your iPhone from the iTunes Store. There are a few steps I would recommend in this situation. Please read over and follow the steps in the attached article.

From the Home screen, tap the iTunes app.

Enter your account name and password if prompted.
Tap the blue download arrow to resume.
If you can't complete the download on your iOS device, you can download it in iTunes on your Mac or PC and then sync it to your iOS device. You can also transfer purchases from your iPhone, iPad, or iPod to a computer.

The cloud icon means that the songs are only in the cloud, they aren't stored on your iPad. You can turn off the showing of songs that are in the cloud via Settings > iTunes & App Store > Music (under the 'show all' heading) 'off'. If you want to some cloud songs to show but not all then you can hide the ones that you don't want via your computer's iTunes : iTunes Store: Hiding and unhiding purchases

Is there any way to recognize and then get rid of duplicate songs? I copied some songs from a different computer and ended up duplicating some of my existing songs. Any way to search for and then get rid of the duplicates?

The apple algorithm for detecting duplicates is not great. I did this yesterday on a library which had got bloated by various itunes 'organisations' and had 15000 songs in it and downloaded idupe. It seemed to work very well and got me down to 10,000 songs. 8USD shareware.

Does this company know you use Mac OS X? If so this is a worrysome trend.
For a couple of years now there have been several scam artists that call you, claiming to be from 'tech support', or your ISP or even Microsoft, reporting that your machine has been idenfitied as being infected and that you need to give them access to your machine to 'clean it up'. In the process of this 'clean up' they thoroughly hose the system by trashing important files and then demand more money in 'recovery fees' to restore the system.
I've laughed in their face whenever they've called me since they have no clue of how to compromise a Mac system, but if they've started to target Mac users then more vigilence is required.

There's no way to merge them yet, so all you can do now is make 1 of them the master ID for iCloud. You have to continue to use the other for previous iTunes, Mac App Store updates. Have you read:

I recently went on trip to Grand Canyon and shot nice footages there, last night I came back and checked footages I shot and I realized there's too much hazy in my video.
I wonder if there's any type of filters that can get rid of that or methods with color correction I can play with?

if there is haze in the picture, ie there was haze in the air, then no, there is nothing you can do.
Not exactly true, my friend. Have you ever seen the show Laguna Beach? Have you ever driven down to Orange County? Granted, they CC that show on a DaVinci, but never say never. You can get rid of some haze by pulling down the mids and crushing the blacks. The 3-way color corrector can save these shots. Now if FCP had curves or even the HSL breakdown that a Symphony does you could do a lot more.
I have no doubt that it is polution.
As someone who used to live in AZ, I can guarantee you that it is pollution. There are always stories on the local news in AZ about the pollution at the Grand Canyon.
