I need to go back to Safari 4.0.5 after downloading Safari 5

Silly me, I didn't check the specs before downloading Safari 5. When will Mac support have an easier way for us to uninstall 5 and go back to 4.0.5 that can explain it to us lowly designers that don't have our own tech department but have to work right now on our Macs? Help! Deadlines are looming. I bought my Mac two weeks before the Intel Processor versions came out. Darn.

for detailed instructions, which should work just fine. They remove everything installed by the 5 update, and replace it with files from the 4.0.5 update.
You might find Pacifist from Charlessoft.com useful - since it will allow you to select the whole 4.0.5 contents & replace the files for you.
Be nice if Apple included an un-installer like they did with the Safari 4 beta.

It is software designed by Florida Assn. of Realtors. It does not work with Firefox and it does not work with updated Safari. It works with Safari 5.0.3. When I called their tech support, I was told that I needed to "go back" to Safari 5.0.3. The updated Safari does not play well with the pdf's that are created through the software. They have devised this work-around and perhaps are working to integrate the newer version of Safari. However, at this time, I just use my PC. But am going on vacation and need to be able to do everything on my MAC. So, it stopped working when I updated Safari, and the way I can fix it is to revert back to the prior version.
It is a program i use and need. I will encourage them to get it updated to support Safari, but that does not help me in the meantime.
Any help much appreciated.

For work I have to be able to use a program that relies on adobe reader and Safari cooperating. With Safari 5.1 Adobe no longer plays nice with the program so I can't work. How can I go back to an older version of safari? Thanks.

I don't know if this would even work, but it seems I remember reading somewhere, that to get an older version of Safari, to reinstall Safari from the CD that came with your computer. The Safari app., should be in one of the folders shown on the CD disk. Also, since no one here has answered your question, you can try looking for the answer on Google. Looking for a way to reinstall Safari 5.0 for Leopard...it's not on the OSX install disk (Ver 4 is on it) Looking on the Apple Support site in Downloads there are a couple links to Safari 5.0 but they direct to 5.0.3 Updaters....
Anyone got a link to an older safari I can use?

Adobe Presenter is a plug-in application to MS PowerPoint that allows you to add video, audio, Flash and quiz content in to a presentation and then author it out as a Flash based presentation that can the be delivered to others via the web. You are asking about enabling Flash content. In what browser/application are you needing to enable Flash Content?
The 'Not a valid presenter' message is most likely due to you not have the rights to author content to Harvard's e-learning system, but without knowing if the URL is for a Connect account or some other e-learning platform, it's hard to give any useful insight.

Yeah, me too, am running 64 bit LinuxMint 16, I have tried Firefox and Chrome and tried to download any/all of the Linux variants but nothing happens, I have allowed pop ups and disabled security, still nothing. I have tried downloading any/all of the linux versions onto my Asus ROG laptop running windows 8 and do a file transfer - still nothing. So I have to conclude the page is broken ?? Hi, I quitted Safari and press and hold the Home and Sleep buttons silmutaneously unti the Ipad turn off and on with the logo Apple appears but it has hanged on and fixed to the point. I think my Ipad is fault now. I guess I must connect it to the computer with itune, or something. HT5271 I just updated OSX 10.7.4 and now Safari won't load - what do I need to do to get Safari working again?

I just updated my operating system to OSX 10.7.4. Now Safari won't load.
I ran disc utilities and it still wont load. It tells me that Safari quit unexpectedly and gives me the option to submit a report of to re-open.
I have tried to find an updated Safari online but only find 5.1.7 updates for Windows.

There are a lot of benefits to running the latest version of Firefox. You might want to consider running the older version [http://portableapps.com/apps/internet/firefox_portable/localization#legacy36 on a USB Stick with PortableApps]. That way you'll still be able to run the latest version for your day to day activities.
If you still want to roll back to a previous version of Firefox, just take a look at the Knowledge Base article [[Installing a previous version of Firefox]].

No data is lost due to a reset.
If you are referring to Safari on your Mac, from the Safari menu bar click Safari > Preferences then select the Privacy tab.
Click: Remove All Website Data
Then empty the Safari cache.
Back to Safari > Preferences then select the Advanced tab.
Select: Show Develop menu in menu bar
Now click Develop from the menu bar. From the drop down menu click Empty Caches.
Quit and relaunch Safari then try logging in to that website.

How do I change my default browser on my MBP back to Safari?

I made the mistake of changing my default browser to Google Chrome on my MBP. I have it on my Dad's Dell, only cause I updated that to Windows 7 and needed to update the browser settings on that. That change on my MBP transfered the Norton & MaFee as well.
Now it won't let me change back to Safari. I'm not thrilled with 'data sharing'and 'data mining' aspects of Chrome.

Make sure there's enough free space on the startup disk.
Right or control click the MacintoshHD icon on your Desktop.
Click Get Info. In the Get Info window you will see Capacity and Available.
Make sure there's a minimum of 15% free disk space.
If there's sufficient disk space, the startup disk may need repairing.
Launch Disk Utility located in /Applications/Utilities
Select the startup disk on the left then select the First Aid tab.
Click Verify Disk (not Verify Disk Permissions)
You will need your install disc if the startup disk needs repairing.

How to get back my safari bookmarks?

First off all i like to say that i am really happy with my Macbook Pro! Apple did (again) a great development!
I have decided to replace my 80gb stock drive with a 160gb drive from Samsung. My new Samsung drive is beautifully! All the space i need, fast and silent.
Now the real problem: I can get all the data from my old HD by using a external sata-usb converter. But how can i get my safari bookmarks back? I can't find them any where on the HD.
There should be a solution, or not? Where can i find them?
Please help me, really need my bookmarks back!

~/Library/Safari/Bookmarks.plist
… so if you copy this from your old drive to your new drive you're all set. Be sure to quit Safari first.

to downgrade to a previous iTunes version, you could try this user tip that seemed to have worked for some:
+1) Quit iTunes.+
+2) Delete iTunes from your Applications folder.+
+3) Go to your ~/Music/iTunes folder. Delete or rename the "iTunes Library" file.+
+4) Open the "Previous iTunes Libraries" folder and look for the backup of your old pre-9 library; it should be dated at about the time you first ran iTunes 9. Copy it back out to the ~/Music/iTunes folder, and rename it to "iTunes Library".+
+6) Go to <http://support.apple.com/downloads/iTunes8_21> and download iTunes 8.2.1. The page says it's for G3, but the Read Me file says it'll run on G4, G5, and Intel too. Open the diskimage and run the installer.+
+You should now be able to run iTunes 8.2.1 again.+
+And your iTunes will restore to before you upgraded and you won't lose anything+.
