I need to help set up my parents laptop with a second iTunes account then sync an iPad and shuffle

It's post Christmas and I'd like to help my parents by setting up my dad onto itunes ( has his own apple ID already ) as he just got an iPad    Thing is, the laptop has moms iTunes already.  I need to find a tutorial on how to do the second iTunes account.  We don't need to share files as both want to control own purchases and own playlists.  On dads account we need to add a shuffle.
Is it simple? As in once I download iTunes again, I log out mom and log in dad .
How Can this be done?
Thanks.

Hello Miss,
To set up a new Windows user account, if it is Windows 7, go to Start > Control Panel > User Accounts and Family Safety > Add or Remove User Accounts > Create New Account.
The old laptop is probably on Windows XP, so the menus may look a little different.
Once they each have their own Windows user account, they can each work with their own iTunes library, and all content will be independently managed.  That should avoid snarls and demerits in the coming year.

  • Itunes cancelling music sync on iPad AND iPhone - Help!

For some reason only 2 songs will sync onto either device - they are not any different from the rest of my music. I have done everything I could find on here, including 'ticking the box' beside the song, restoring my phone, quitting and reopening iTunes, removing all music and putting it back on. I have enough room on both devices. When I sync, it gets stuck at the very end, usually it can sync 5-6 songs and then cancels the sync. The only thing I could think of is I recently added some songs from a USB, but I converted them to mp3 format. I also don't know why that would affect the rest of my music.
I NEED to resolve this issue as I'm going away on holidays and won't have my laptop with me, and i currently have 2 songs on each device

I'm observing the same problem. iTunes is nearly frozen, especially podcasts make the system extremely slow, no downloads possible at all. Opening an album song list is also painfully slow. All this prevents me from buying from the store. Apple should be interested in this. Please note that I'm not using iTunes match!

  • My iPad 2 is not recognised by iTunes. I have tried all the steps as mentioned by the support communities. I have spent lot of time trying to diagnose the problem but no success yet. I need immediate help. I have my laptop with windows XP.

I have tried all the steps as suggested by the community partners i.e. uninstall/reinstall itunes (number of times). If I plug my ipad 2 on my office PC which has itunes, it is recognised immediately. My lap top does not show 'NEW HARDWARE FOUND" as iPad. It just says new hardware found and shows scanner and camera hardware recognised. In my opinion there could be programme file which is having conflict with ipad 2 recognisation. I am surprised to find that APPLE has not yet come out with straightforward steps for stting up procedures to avoid this recognition issue. It is waste of time and causing lot of aggravation among iPad 2 purchasers.

Sounds like it could be your computer and not Apple. Sounds like some registry issues and/or other underlying problems.
What are your computer specs? Year? Manufacturer? RAM? Processor (type & speed, # of cores), OS (32 bit? 64 bit? Professional? Standard?)

  • Updating iPad to new software no iTunes - I need to update my iPad as no cloud on it. My mac book is broken and I want to know can u link 2 iPads to one tune account without their iTunes account transferring to my iPad and wiping my own?

    Hi
My mac book is broken and the only access yo iTunes I have is on other people's computers which are already linked to their iPads or filled with all their own iTunes music.
My iPad needs updates to the new operating system.
My mobile me accoutrements. Will end zoo and switch to cloud.
How can I update my iPad without wiping it and when mobile me switches to cloud it will wipe my address book unless I can back it up first- which I can't as my mac book is broken! And I can't currently update my iPad!
    Arghh any suggestions
    Thanks

Have the other person make a new user account on their computer.  You can then back up your iPad on that new account and update it.  You can transfer purchases which will back up your apps and music purchased through itunes to that account.  You will not be able to back up music you put on the iPad from other sources but that's about the only thing.
After you are done, they can delete the new user account.

I need to cancel my photoshop lightroom package. I cant afford to keep paying for it while I am at college and my parents cant afford it for me. I tried to cancel it last night but my laptop decided to crash. I then went to try and do it today and it wouldn't let  me cancel it.
I would love to pay for my photoshop but due to saving for uni I can't afford it. Is there any way I would be able to pay for it when I can afford it? Thank you very much.

First, I would suggest you backup your iPod touch and transfer purchases to your computer:

Confirm your Apple ID is set up and updated with the correct information:

Then, in Settings on your iPod touch, sign out of your iCloud Account and your iTunes Store account and sign back in with the correct Apple ID.

You need OSX 10.7.2 or higher in order to access icloud.  The mobile me account is now defunct (it closed down more than a year ago).

I don't think it's possible if you are stuck in recovery mode but I may be wrong...
Since your device qualifies for iOS 8(.1), that is the version that will be downloaded/restored to the iPad.
I do know that you can restore your iPad (from backup & as new) and keep the same iOS version if you restore using the iPad itself under Settings/Reset/Erase All Content and Settings but since you can't access this because your stuck in recovery mode, the point is moot.
Have you tried downloading the update in the middle of the night (2 am or so) where dropouts are much less likely to occur?
It's always possible to take your device in to an Apple Store (make a Genius Bar reservation first) and do the iOS update there in the Apple Store.. I'm sure they will gladly help you out with it and not charge you a thing. The trouble with that would be if you don't have an Apple Store nearby.
Sorry I couldn't be of any more help.

  • Gave grandkids Ipads for Christmas.  I need to sync each to my Mac with their own Itune accounts.  I do have them on my computer with their own login.  What is the best way to sync their Ipads?

I need to sync each of my grandkids IPads to my Mac with their own Itune accounts.  Each grandkid does have a login on my computer that I control.  On their IPads they each set up a ITune account.  What is the best way to sync their Ipads?  Is there something I need to make sure is turned on in their accounts on my computer?

    Hi Jodel,
Thanks for visiting Apple Support Communities.
If your grandkids each have a user account on your Mac, you can use the steps in this article to set up syncing with each user account and iPad:

How to set up an iTunes account for my new ipad?

If you already have an iTunes account, simply use that. You do not need a new account.
Open the iTunes app on the iPad. Go to the bottom of the screen and tap Sign in.

If your son is under 13, then you will need to set up an account for yourself and allow him to use it.

If you have a rescue email address (which is not the same thing as an alternate email address) set up on your account then you can try going to https://appleid.apple.com/and click 'Manage your Apple ID' on the right-hand side of that page and log into your account. Then click on 'Password and Security' on the left-hand side of that page and on the right-hand side you might see an option to send security question reset info to your rescue email address.
If you don't have a rescue email address (you won't be able to add one until you can answer 2 of your questions) then see if this user tip helps you get the questions reset :https://discussions.apple.com/docs/DOC-4551
e.g. you can try contacting iTunes Support :http://www.apple.com/support/itunes/contact/ - click on Contact iTunes Store Support on the right-hand side of the page, then Account Management , and then try Apple ID Account Security
or try ringing the number for Apple  in your country and ask to talk to the Account Security Team : http://support.apple.com/kb/HE57

SIgn in with your Apple ID, the same one you used to access this support forum.
Hopefully, you will see a list of all the devices you registered with your Apple ID, including their serial numbers. Let me know how this works out.
Edit to add: If you enabled "find my imac" on your Pro, you ought to be able to remotely lock it, or even wipe its memory. Click http://www.icloud.com/ sign in with your Apple ID and click the big green "find my iPhone" icon (nevermind the name, it will find all your devices provided they're running Lion or iOS 5).
Then file a police report and nail the b*****d.

They will have to be answered the first time when purchasing from a new computer or device.
