Hi, I need to insert my photo onto a profile page of an external website. Trouble is that the jpeg file is 4.4 and it needs to be reduced to 2 mb. I have tried everything that I can think of but nothing has worked. I'm not very computer confident, so if anyone can support me on this, I'd welcome the help.
Open the photo in the Preview application and click Save As... in the File menu. Its size will be indicated near the bottom of the resulting dialog box. Move the quality slider until the size you need appears, name the new file and select the location where you want to save it, and click the Save button.

Click on your account name in the top right corner of the iTunes store in the iTunes application on your computer, enter your password and click the "view account" button. Navigate to the Apple ID summary where you have the option to "change country or region".
In order to change your location, you will need a credit card registered to an address in India. -

I need to uninstall my old version on itunes and install a new version, i cant uninstall from Programs and Features, a message keeps coming up saying 'The feature you are trying to use is on a network resource that is unavailable.'
Unfortunately, this sort of trouble has gotten more complicated to deal with ever since Microsoft pulled the Windows Installer CleanUp utility from their Download Center on June 25. First we have to find a copy of the utility.
Let's try Googling. (Best not to use Bing, I think.) Look for a working download site for at least version 3.0 of the Windows Installer CleanUp utility. After downloading the utility installer file (msicuu2.exe), scan the file for malware, just in case. (I use the free version of Malwarebytes AntiMalware to do single-file scans for that.)
If the file is clean, to install the utility, doubleclick the msicuu2.exe file you've downloaded.
Now run the utility ("Start > All Programs > Windows Install Clean Up"). In the list of programs that appears in CleanUp, select any iTunes entries and click "Remove".
Quit out of CleanUp, restart the PC and try installing iTunes again. Does the install go through properly now?
(If you do find a clean download site for the correct version of CleanUp, please don't tell me where it is. Without wishing to sound paranoid (although I grant it does sound paranoid), there is a non-zero chance that posting links to download locations for the utility here at Discussions leads to that download location being shut down.) -
Need to Export All Images from Aperture to Photoshop. Can anyone help?
I'm new to Mac. Just got my iMac in January. I wanted to buy the Mac version of Photoshop Elements 8, but the Apple salesperson convinced me that Aperture 2 would be much easier. After three months, I've discovered that Aperture is just not for me. I just purchased and installed Photoshop Elements 8 for Mac today. I would like to move all of my images from Aperture to Photoshop and delete Aperture from my computer. I cannot figure out how to do this. Whenever I try to export, the Aperture "library" appears as a big block that won't open or prompt for subfolders. Please help!
Pvonk has good advice. I just want to make sure you understand the Aperture has a Master and at least one Version of each image file. The Master is the original -- never touched. The Version is at first a copy of the Master, but as soon as you make any changes it holds those changes. So you have to decide whether you want to export the Masters, the Versions, or both (which you'll have to do separately, afaik). Aperture gives you the choice. Click "Photos" in the Library tab of the Inspector, then select all, then "File>>Export". If you want to maintain your groupings (e.g.: Projects), you will probably have to select the images in each group and export them as a unique set.
Note that Aperture is a very powerful image database (pros refer to this as "Digital Asset Management") in addition to (w. v. 3) being a very powerful digital photograph development lab. Photoshop Elements does none of the former, and a very different kind of job than the latter. -
Set migration assistant to run whilst on a lunch break, given that it needed 2 hours or so, when i returned all programs and applications had moved across from my time machine backup of a now dead 15"macbook pro 2009 edition running snow leopard...When i look at my new system information it shows my new 500gb drive is full of music, movies and photos and has only 168gb free, not enough to run a new migration and i don't have any boot disks for Lion so really don't want to erase the hard drive. To compound the problem i'm in Vietnam where there isn't a genius bar just around the corner, or even an aasp within 700km - what should I do?
Is the HDD in the 2009 15" MBP dead? (The original source of your data) If not, you might want ot take it out and put it in an enclosure.
You might try spotlight on know files to see if that gives you any clues where your data is located.
You might down load from the Internet OmniDiskSweeper (free) and open it. It should show you all of the files you have on your MBP and enable to locate them.

After the last update of itunes I seem to have lost all the music that I had downloaded from my Cds. It was a lot of music! All I still have is the music that I had purchased in the itunes store. And before you asked. No, I did not have a backup. Never got around to do it.
Does anyone of you have an idea if and how I can maybe get my music back?

I was prompted to update to iPhoto 11 yesterday (don't know why yesterday, I'm in iPhoto all the time). So I followed the instructions, library updated, all existing events and albums are there. I uploaded some more pictures and created a few new albums and did some new year spring cleaning, moving stuff around etc. And I started making a calendar.
I've opened it up today, my calendar is still there as are all the new events, but the pictures are empty outlines. If I open up a picture I just get the "!" but I can still see the thumbnails showing in the slider in the bottom - I don't know if that means the source files must still be there somewhere, or if it just means it captured thumbnails yesterday.
I've gone into it via "show package contents" and there just don't seem to be any masters for an upload yesterday. I also just had a look in the last import folder, because of a comment from someone above. As I scrolled down through the folder the images were there and literally disappeared in front of me - by which I mean, the thumbnails were there as I scrolled down and then would turn into empty outlines...!
All my old folders are still there, thankfully (although they're of course the ones that are also all safely back up).
Although I have a timecapsule, my photo library is too big to keep on my hard drive, so I keep it on an external drive - so it only gets backed up when I do it manually (thanks Apple for that, I will never understand why it was designed to work - or not work - that way). So if the pictures have been lost then they are gone for good which is super-frustrating (I just got back from South Korea and was in the middle of sorting out all my shots from that trip). It seems that this can only have happened because of the update - I should have known better than to have pressed yes.
If you have any ideas, I'd be most grateful!

I updated my Apple TV last night and since then it is asking me to plug it into a device. I have a picture of the Music Logo and a cable needing to be plugged into the back of the Apple TV. however I am unable to do this as none of the cables i have will fit. Can someone please help me?
ThanksThe update failed. It needs to be plugged into a computer with iTunes via a standard USB cable so iTunes can reload its firmware.

I'm brand new to Flash/Adobe/Dreamweaver so I'm reaching out for some help from you guys. I'm an IT admin for an insurance company and they have also made me the webmaster and have been given the task of doing a little face lift on our site. The site is www.altuonline.com if you want to view it first. First, I've downloaded trial versions of Dreamweaver SC4 and have purchased WB 2005 for ASP.net applications. Our site contains some flash and asp.net applications. I have .aspx, .fla/swf files and all will be getting edited. First I thought about making the page load alot faster and expending the borders of the site all the way out almost to the frames of IE, this would be a good first step. If you have time please post some ideas of where I would start off so I can complete this within timely fashion...maybe under 3 months....

Content-wise, loading faster will likely be easier to accomplish if you use Flash only sparingly rather than depending on it to deliver all of your site's content. And avoid use of large images. This will also make it easier to maintain in the future (and it addresses the issues brought up earlier in a simpler manner).
But what do you mean by "expending the borders of the site all the way out almost to the frames of IE"? I do hope you are thinking in terms of the browser's viewport. If so, look into flexible or liquid layouts. Just don't make the common beginner's mistake of thinking about monitor sizes and resolutions. Those are not relevant to Web pages. Also, design your pages with W3C compliance in mind before worrying about how various browser differences - you are going to test in various browsers, right?
If you have time please post some ideas of where I would start off so I can complete this within timely fashion...maybe under 3 months
For quick layout solutions, you might want to consider some of Project VII's solutions. Quick, customizable, compliant, and great support. Don't let that be an excuse not to learn HTML/CSS, though
And lurk in here for lots of good advice and helpful links even when you don't have a specific question in mind.
