I need to install Lightroom on my D:\ drive

I changed the preferences in the Creative Cloud desktop from default to:  D:\Program Files (x86)\Adobe.
I first installed Photoshop CC and that installed perfectly in folder D:\Program Files (x86)\Adobe\Adobe Photoshop CC.  Next I clicked the button install Lightroom and it was promptly installed in C:\Program Files\Adobe\Adobe Photoshop Lightroom 5.2.  I am down to 3.6 GB on my C:\ drive and need this to be installed on D:\ drive.

I'm sorry to beat this to death but I'm having a hard time reconciling semantics I guess. That or I'm not being clear. I read the FAQ you reference. I understand it says LR is unlike other CC apps in that it "must be installed to your local drive." Okay, so is not your "local drive" that which is running the system? If so, it seems to me that I should be able to switch to the second partition with the alternate OS (Mavericks) and install a second iteration of LR as per the subscription's allowance. Am I mistaken about this? It's not like I've installed LR on separate drive and tried running it from a different system drive which is what I take the FAQ to be telling me. Again, correct me if I'm wrong.
What is doubly confusing is that the FAQ states: "(LR) can't be installed to custom location like other Creative Cloud apps." This is confusing because I tried to do this with PS and THAT wouldn't allow me to run it from a disc (partition) other than that which it was installed on. I had to use my second computer alowance to load PS onto the second partition where I'd installed the new Mavericks system. So that seems to contradict what the FAQ is asserting.
Ya know this all started because I needed to find the activation code for LR because I was being asked for it when trying to run it from the Mavericks partition. (which at the time implied to me I WOULD be able to run it from a disc it wasn't loaded onto had I only been able to provide the number) What would happen if I just uninstalled the whole mess and started over again? Would I be able to without an activation code in my possession? And why DON'T I ha one? Shouldn't I have received an email when I first purchased the apps?

Just for clarity, "we" haven't taken your money - this is a user-to-user forum, and you're not talking to Adobe.
Like Rob I'm a Windows user, and - like him - I thought "uninstalling" on Macs was simply a case of trashing the application. Google would seem to concur.
Not really a Lightroom/Adobe issue, then?

  • Need help installing Lightroom 5 upgrade on a new computer

    Hi all,
On Mac #1 I have Lightroom 5, which was upgraded to from Lightroom 4. I have noted down a full v4.x licence key and a v5.x upgrade key, and these worked on Mac #1.
I now want to install Lightroom 5 on Mac #2. I can install and activate v4 but when I install v5 it doesn't offer me an upgrade activation. The only licence it seems to want is a full v5 one (it doesn't accept my v5 upgrade key).
How can I get LRv5 installed on the new computer?
    Thanks,
    Chris

    Thanks Kglad, that worked.
I was downloading the full trial of LRv5, but what I needed to do was go into my account and hit the download button next to the upgrade order in my order history. This downloads a different installer.
    I'm happy now --> :-)

  • Just switched from pc to mac and need to install Lightroom 4.  Can't seem to find the link on Adobe website.

I purchased Lightroom 4 a couple years ago for my pc.  I just purchased a Mac over the weekend and would like to install Lightroom 4 on my new computer, but can't seem to find the link on the Adobe website.  I'm trying to avoid having to purchase the program again.

  • I am running Lightroom through the CC, but the CC app shows that I need to install Lightroom ( it is already installed). I am running on a MacBook Pro

any suggestions?I don't want to reinstall it but I fear I may not be getting updates.

    DMLphotos
Have  you installed Lightroom 5.7.1 update, you may getting the install option since you have not installed the latest update, check and confirm latest version of Lightroom installed on your computer. If not I would suggest you to go ahead and install Lightroom  5.7.1 from your Creative Cloud App.

  • How do you install Lightroom on a NAS drive?

I want to install Lightroom and all data on my NAS drive. (as my main drive contains no data on it what so ever).
I also do not have a 'Pictures', 'Videos', or 'Music' folder on this drive either.
    Any help would be appreciated.
    Thank you,
    Keith

Keith first I would recommend installing applications on the same drive/partition which contains your operating system.  If you are utilizing a SSD for your operating system then much of the benefits of the SSD are lost when running applications from a traditional hard drive.
What version of Photoshop Lightroom are you wanting to install on this drive?  Is Lightroom included as part of a membership or do you own a license?

  • Re-install lightroom after a hard drive crash

    Hello,
I want to re-install LIGHTROOM 5 on one of my 2  Macbook computers because it had a hard drive crash.
The computer is repared, so I tried to re-install LIGHTROOM.
The only solution that I found available online, was to download LR5 through Creative Cloud.
But I have already paid a license (in 2013) bought online.
How should I do to put my license number on the LR5 that I downloaded from the CC ?
My fear is that I will have to pay (in one month) for a product I already bought...
    Thank you for your help.

  • Do I need to install drivers for a sata drive?

I have K7N2 Delta2-LSR and it came with a sata raid driver floppy disk.  Mine is just a single drive on which I want to install Windows. I read some where that it is not needed during windows installation unless I want to setup a raid system. Is this correct? My sata drive shows up under the external device icon, the small green arrow icon on the system tray. Is it suppose to be like that or is it because I did not install the sata drivers during windows installation? Any advice please?

What brand and model of SATA drive are you using? I had two other posts on this issue because one model of Maxtor drive that I tried works fine and another model does not work at all.
My configuration is like yours, I currently only have one SATA hard drive connected to this machine. There are multiple PATA drives on the machine and they all work fine together.
Seeing your post made me do more research on my motherboard. Until now, I thought the SATA controller on this board was not capable of RAID. I know know it is, thank you silverferro and Stu

  • Need help installing Snow Leopard without DVD drive

    Hi all,
I posted this question under MacBook Pro but didn't get much help.
I have a MacBook Pro running 10.4.11.  I bought the 10.6.3 Snow Leopard Install DVD from Apple but my DVD reader just keeps ejecting it, optical drive must have died.
My roomate has a Windows 7 laptop, and I see here that I can put my DVD into his DVD player, and remote it over our wireless and install it to my laptop.
I've run through the instructions but I can't see Remote Disc under the Mac's finder.
I found another article with similar instructions that included some console code.  I've made sure to run the following commands in my Mac console too but no luck:
defaults write com.apple.NetworkBrowser EnableODiskBrowsing -bool true
defaults write com.apple.NetworkBrowser ODSSupported -bool true
Is it possible to even do a remote install via one Windows 7 Laptop and my MacBook Pro with no optical drive?  Do I have some other kind of options to get this upgrade working?
Any and all help will be appreciated!

That's actally a pretty good and cost effective way to do it.  I see some from Walmart for like $30, and it's possible to refund them if it doesn't work.
    Thank you

  • My drive failed and I need to install CS6 to a new drive letter

Every time I try to reinstall CS6 the installer selects the old location, which is not there and so it has zero space.
    Install fails.
Installer does not allow me to change the location.
The location of the temporary files is ok. I changed that with no problem, but after the extracting and the actual installation, the install location is unchangeable and wrong.
    how can I change it?

It seems like the installer is still picking up traces of the product that were installed earlier. Please try the following two links and suggest if that worked or not.
Use the CC Cleaner Tool to solve installation problems | CC, CS3-CS6
"Error 1327 - Invalid Drive [drive letter here]" When Installing Acrobat, Photoshop Elements, or CS3 Suite

  • Need to install a new internal Hard drive

    Hi there,
My Mac Book Pro is 1st generation, I think, I bought it on May 2006 with a 100GB hard drive and made some upgrades trough the time but now I'm looking for a larger hard drive because I use it for professional audio recording with Logic Studio and the last upgrade calls for more storage space. I put any other data sucker files like iTunes and iPhoto Libraries away but still is not enough.
I read the same issue in another topic ( http://discussions.apple.com/thread.jspa?threadID=2424292&tstart=60 ) and they recommend a SEAGATE 500GB 7200RPM but still I'm not sure if his computer and mine are the same. I read in my system profiler things like "Removable Media: No / Detachable Drive: No" that make me suspicious about if change my HD is possible or not.
Could anyone confirm that the SEAGATE 500GB works for my Mac Book Pro?
    Thanks
    Fran

Thanks for the advice! I think I'll go ahead and go for it but I can definitely see that it's not as easy as someone told me in another forum... at least for someone who has to do it for the very first time. But I think I can handle it.
Another question please... what about the memory RAM? At this point I am in 2GB. Supposedly there's no way to improve that in my original Mac Book Pro but I'm reading somewhere that there is a way to get 3GB... anyone could enlighten me on this?
    Thanks
    Fran

  • How to install lightroom 4 when the password is not know to the apple mac computer?

how to install the software and not know the password?

You need to think in terms of Apple support, not Adobe (since you have a platform specific issue). It ain't hard to Google ya know? Try Googling "resetting OS X password" and you'll get the response you need...

  • I need help installing Realtek ALC880 driver on HP Pavillion a1104x

As the title says, I need help installing the Realtek ALC880 audio driver on my HP Pavillion a1104x
I installed a fresh copy of Windows XP Home SP2 and I can't figure out what I'm doing wrong.
I download the Microsoft UAA Driver
Then I install the Realtek Driver
When the Microsoft UAA driver installs, it tells me that I have an audio device
When I install the Realtek driver, it dissappears and the realtek driver shows up in my device manager but the Realtek sound manager doesn't show up nor does any audio device show up in the windows sound manager.
    Please help

Try clearing the CMOS.  No sound device in Device Manager generally means that Windows in not detecting the device when it boots up.
Try a device manager hardware rescan and see if Windows will redetect the sound device.
Try these two Intel utilities and see if anything will need updates.  #1 might not find the appropriate hardware so be too concerned.
Intel Driver Update Utility  Intel Driver Update Utility
Intel Chip Set update  Intel chipset update utility
A yellow question mark or yellow exclamation point in device manager would indicate a software driver or hardware issue. Go to www.realtek.com for the latest XP driver.
