I need to learn ALE IDOC- Basic of ALE
Hi,
I am new to ALE IDOC, can u tell me the basic of ALE, or the sites for searching ALE.
A sample program that demonstrates the ALE, what are the transactions to be used and the Steps to implement ALE.
Thanks in advance
Hi
ALEApplication Link Enabling (ALE) is a mechanism for the
exchange of business data between loosely-coupled R/3
applications built by customers of SAP, the enterprise
resource management program. ALE provides SAP customers
with a program distribution model and technology that
enables them to interconnect programs across various
platforms and systems.

Need to learn the very basics on getting started
Hi, I just got home with my super new iPad Air Wi-Fi + Cellular and have completed all the setup questions. After entering my password I get the initial screen with standard apps but when I tap any of them nothing happens. Battery is fully charged and in the top left corner it shows 'No SIM and the Wi-Fi symbol. I hope this is me just being a bit dumb and would appreciate some advice.
Thanks.Looks like I neglected to post the link: http://help.apple.com/ipad/7/
As to your questions: Google apps will not run on an iOS device. You must download then from the app store. No exceptions. Alternately, you can download them to itunes on a computer and sync to the iPad.
As for troubleshooting the App store issue, try a reset: Simultaneously hold down the Home and On buttons until the device shuts down. Ignore the off slider if it appears. Once shut down is complete, if it doesn't restart on it own, turn the device back on using the On button. In some cases it also helps to double click the Home button and close all apps BEFORE doing the reset. -
Hi All,
I have a scenario in which EDI IDoc needs to be converted to an ALE IDoc(Basic Type FIDCCP02 ) when sent through SAP-XI.
I need ur help in the following areas :
1.Do I have to create the data type for sender ?
2.How should I mention the File Content Parameters?
Thanks in advance,
LokeshHi,
IF ur sending an IDOC from sender side or receiver side no need to create data type, mesage type and message interface.
if ur senario is to convert EDI data then u have SEEBURGER which is a middle ware which help to convert and EDI standard into XML.
if ur using SEEBURGER then u can take the XSD file from seeburger tool and import it into IR,so no need to create datatype and message type.

Phani

RameshALE (Application Linking and Enabling)
Ale Technology is SAPs technology to support distributed yet integrated processes across several SAP systems.
IDocs (Intermediate Documents) are the crux of ALE. These are the documents with the help of which data is exchanged between SAP R/3 and non-R/3 systems. As the name suggests, these documents act as intermediate storage of information, which can be sent bi-directionally. Message types are responsible for creation of Idocs.
IDocs
Data Creation in Idoc
IDocs are text encoded documents with a rigid structure that are used to exchange data between R/3 and a foreign system. Instead of calling a program in the destination system directly, the data is first packed into an IDoc and then sent to the receiving system, where it is analyzed and properly processed. Therefore an IDoc data exchange is always an
asynchronous process. The significant difference between simple RFC-calls and IDoc data exchange is the fact, that every action performed on IDocs are protocolled by R/3 and IDocs can be reprocessed if an error occurred in one of the message steps.
While IDocs have to be understood as a data exchange protocol, EDI and ALE are typical use cases for IDocs. R/3 uses IDocs for both EDI and ALE to deliver data to the receiving system. ALE is basically the scheduling mechanism that defines when and between which partners and what kind of data will be exchanged on a regular or event triggered basis. Such a set-up is called an ALE-scenario.
IDoc is a intermediate document to exchange data between two SAP Systems.
*IDocs are structured ASCII files (or a virtual equivalent).
*Electronic Interchange Document
*They are the file format used by SAP R/3 to exchange data with foreign systems.
*Data Is transmitted in ASCII format, i.e. human readable form
*IDocs exchange messages
*IDocs are used like classical interface files
IDOC types are templates for specific message types depending on what is the business document, you want to exchange.
WE30 - you can create a IDOC type.

Basic Idoc
Basic IDOC type defines the structure and format of the business document that is to be exchanged between two systems.
Extension Idoc
Extending the functionality by adding more segments to existing Basic IDOCs.
Creation of IDoc
To Create Idoc we need to follow these steps:

Need of message type in ALE-IDOC
Hi,
Please tell me need of message type in ALE_IDOC and its functioning. Also why it is required.Let me know its exact role.
Thanks.Hi,
Message types (required for sending the data across participating systems)relate to the structure of the data called an IDOC (Intermediate Document).Message types provide the format of the data, which can be exchanged betweenSAP and non-SAP systems. ALE supports over 200 message types in R/3.

Hey ! Need some help on ALE IDOC !
My requirement is I have to create an IDOC using ALE .
But both the sender and receiver willl be the same client e.g
200 ....
Now I will use client 200 as both sender and receiver .
I have alredy gone through lots of ALE stuffs and screen shots
but every where they have used two different clients !
Can any body help me for ALE IDOC creation using only one single client !
thnks
JoyHi,
For ALE scenario's , we need a concept called 'Logical System ' , which is an unique name used to identify the system involved in ALE scenario .
Logical System will be assigned to the client .
i.e. the relation ship between logical system and Client is 1 to 1.
so it is not possible to use same client as Receiver and Sender.
Hope this helps you.

Hi friends need some help in ALE IDOC !
For training purpose I am trying to create an IDOC using ALE
where I am using the same client as server as well as receiver......So I am using as receiver "NONE" . this is already present in the SM59 under logical systems..
But i cant create a port for that...as its saying its not compatible with the TRFC "
Can any one tell me what is the way to create the port ?Hi,
You are new to ALE and IDOCs so I am giving all step by step to do the ALE.
Outbound:
Step 1. Application document is created when transaction is saved.
2. Message control is invoked.
3. Messages are processed by system.
4. Messages are Edited (if desired).
5. Output (ALE / EDI) is checked
6. Validate against Message control record from Partner Profile
7. Application Document is saved.
8. Entry NAST table is created for every selected output program
along with Medium & Timing.
9. Check for Process Immediately .
If (yes)
Determine Processing Program from TNAPR Table.
ELSE
Execute RSNASTED Program.
10. Read Partner Profile to determine Process Code.
11. Process Code points to the Function Module & Invoked.
12. IDoc is generated.
13. Check for ALE Request.
if (Yes)
Perform Filters, Conversions, Version Changes etc.
Else.
IDoc is stored in DATABASE.
INBOUND:
Step 1. EDI Subsystem creates an IDoc file from EDI Messages
2. Subsystem calls Functional Module EDI_DATA_INCOMING from startRFC program.
3. Data in Control Record is validate against the Partner Profile.
4. IDoc is generated in Database and syntax check is carried out.
5. IDoc file is deleted once file read.
6. Event PROCESSSTATE REACHED is triggered in Idoc Object Workflow.
7. Check for Process Immediately.
If NO
Execute RBDAPP01 Program
Else
Read Process Code from Partner Profile
Process Code Points to Function Module
Application Document Posted.
