I need to logout from the iCloud account that's on my iPhone

I'm using a used iPhone that has an iCloud account logged in and I don't know how to logout. Please help, I think I'm sharing iMessage with the old owner of the iPhone!

To sign out of iMessage:
Settings > Messages > turn off iMessage
FaceTime too:
Settings > FaceTime > turn off FaceTime
If Find my iPhone is enabled you will need he password of the account to remove it:
Settings > iCloud > Delete account
The best thing to do is to wipe the device:
Settings > General > Reset > Erase All Content & Settings
Once again if Find My iPhone is enabled then you will be subject to Activation Lock and you will need the owner to remove it from their account.

Welcome to the Apple community Jack.
If you mean that Find My Phone is asking for a password to a different Apple ID to your current Apple IDand that ID is a previous version of your current ID, not an entirely different one.
This feature has been introduced to make stolen phones useless to those that have stolen them.
However it can also arise when the user has changed their Apple ID details with Apple and not made the same changes to their iCloud account/Find My Phone on their device before upgrading to iOS 7, or if you restore from a previous back up made before you changed your details.
The only solution is to change your Apple ID back to its previous state with Apple at My Apple ID using your current password, you don’t need access to this address if it’s previously been used with your Apple ID, once you have saved these details enter the password as requested on your device and then turn off "find my phone" and delete the account from your device.
You should then change your Apple ID back to its current state, save it once again and then log back in using your current Apple ID. Finally, turn "find my phone" back on once again.

    Sorry.
The iPhone is of no use until/unless the previous owner removes it from their account.
You will need to find the prior owner or return the iPhone.

  • Need an app from the Icloud

Hello All, I am on the road and cant connect my phone to my computer to sync to Icloud. I need an app from my Icloud account. how can I access my Icloud account on my phone and download my app I have out there? Thanks for any help.

Was this an app that you previously had and then deleted from your phone?  IF yes, then on your phone go to the appstore - update - purchased -  you can either choose all or not on this phone - find the app - then hit the cloud to download it back to your phone.

When my daughter got her first iphone we set it up with my email address, she now has her own email & new iphone.  I want to use my email address for my icloud, can I delete the content from the icloud account and continue to use my email?

Yes, but be sure she is on a separate iCloud account with a separate ID before deleting anything.  Be sure there is nothing that you want to keep on your device too.  When you delete the data from iCloud it will be deleted from all devices signed into the account.  Then you can delete the data from the existing account by doing the following:
To delete the contacts, go to iCloud.com from your computer, log into your iCloud account and open Contacts, click on All Contacts on the left, to the right click on any single contact to select it, click on the Actions (gear shaped) icon at the bottom left and choose Select All, then press the Delete key on your keyboard.
For Calendars, open the calendar on icloud.com, click Edit on the bottom left, then tap the minus sign to the right of each calendar to delete it.
For Notes, open notes on icloud.com, click on each note on the left, then click Delete at the top to delete it.
For Reminders, open reminders on icloud.com, click on each reminder and press your Delete key to delete it.
For Mail, open your mail on icloud.com, click each folder on the left (such as your inbox), click on a single message to the right, press Control-A on your keyboard to select them all, then press your Delete key.  Repeat this for each of your mail folders except Trash.  When finished, click on the actions (gear-shaped) icon on the bottom left and select Empty Trash.
If you also want to delete your iCloud backups you can go to Settings>iCloud>Storage & Backup>Manage Storage on your device, tap the name of your device under Backups, then tap Delete Backup.

  • On my iPad, if I deleted the iCloud account that I am signed in with, does it delete the entire account (even on other devices)? And would that also delete the apps on the iPad downloaded with that iClouds account?

On my iPad, if I deleted the iCloud account that I am signed in with, does it delete the entire account (even on other devices)? And would that also delete the apps on the iPad downloaded with that iClouds account?

They were initially setup with the smae Apple ID but when you delete the iCloud account from the phone you disassociate iCloud items on your phone.
If you want to rid the device of the Apple ID completely you will need to sign out in seceral places:
Settings > iCloud > Delete Account
Settings > Messages > Turn off iMessage
Setings > FaceTime > Turn off FaceTime
Settings > iTunes & App Stores > Apple ID > Sign out
Settings > Game Center > Apple ID > Sign out
Note: You can keep the iTunes & App Stores sign in to share purchases without any effect on anything else
You should consider getting your own Apple ID.

  • How do I edit the iCloud account information on my new iPhone 4?

How do I edit the iCloud account information on my new iPhone 4? I changed in on the iCloud web site, but it still has the old email address on the phone. The address is not able to change...am I missing something?
Also, the first time I started the phone, I put my email address instead of my son's address, now when I try to set up iMessage, it asks for my password associated with my address and not my son's address.

Yes...I tried that and It did work...Thank you.
Now the other item...iMessage still have my email address and I want my son's address. I have the iCloud registered with his address, I have not found where I can edit that.

  • How to change the email from the iCloud account info?

HOw to change the email set in the iCloud account info? My Apple ID is different from my icloud account I like to keep same email for both.
    please help with the steps.

You can change the non-Apple address which forms your ID to another non-Apple address at http://appleid.apple.com . However you cannot make your @icloud.com address into your ID address.

  • How do I delete apps from the icloud account ?

When I download an old app that used to work perfectly , it no longer works . I was told to delete it from my devise and reload it from the app store but I do not get that option when i search the app. I only get the option to load it from the cloud and it doesn't work once loaded. How can I delete the app from the icloud so as to download the app directly from the app store ?

Downloading it from the cloud is downloading it from the App store.
Your most likely problem is that your iOS is too old to run the App, unless you can update your iOS there is little you can do about this.

  • HT201363 I need to delete an existing iCloud account that was set up on my phone using a previous Apple ID. Since the I've reset both my Apple ID and password (lost my iPad) I cannot delete the iCloud account from my phone because it is still under the ol

I have an old iCloud account on my phone.
This account was set up using an old Apple ID and password.
Since then I've changed both id and password.
In order to delete the existing (old) iCloud account from my phone I need to provide the old password from the old and defunct account.
    I don't remember that password.
I've tried resetting it through the support network but to no avail.
I need to delete the old account in order to set up a new one.
    Any thoughts?

If the ID is yours but you don't know the password, you'll have to reset it (http://support.apple.com/kb/HT5787).  If the ID belongs to a previous ownder of the phone, you'll have to either get the ID and password from them, or have them erase the phone and remove it from their account as explained here: http://support.apple.com/kb/TS4515.

  • Can't logout from old iCloud account.

Hello, I changed my email address associated with the apple account but for some reason my iCloud account still logged in with the old email address and I totally forgot the password to log out and it doesn't give me the option to delete the account. Email address doesn't exist anymore.
    What can I do?
    Thank you.

  • A note I need was deleted from the iCloud. Can I recover it? I hope!

I use iCloud to back up my phone. I'm not sure how exactly it got deleted, but it had valuable information on it. I have been around the community to find a solution and most must be old, all suggest extracting from an itunes backup. Any help will be apprciated!

With some effort you may be able to recover them from your iCloud backup by following the steps here: https://discussions.apple.com/message/22600445#22600445.  If you are signed into your iCloud notes on your Mac, a better approach would be to archive a local copy of your notes as explained here: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4910 under "Mail and Notes".
