I need to re-download an older music purchase.

I need to re-download an older music purchase. Itunes store indicates it has been purchased but it does not appear in my itunes library. I purchased the song 11/2011. No change of Itunes ID and running all of the latest software on PC and phone. It is not "hidden" in the itunes account per some instructions I read. Any help would be appreciated.

You have to have an internet connection, either wireless or through a computer with iTunes. When you choose Software Update you can only update to the latest version for your iPod Touch, iOS 6.1.6

Cannot download movies and music purchased from itunes to ipad

I have an iPAD 2 with WIFI/3G capabilities. Currently I am unable to download movies and music purchased from iTUNES. The only thing I can download with no problems are APPS. I don't have a laptop/desktop with iTUNES, so that is out of the question. Here is the kicker, my friend who has an iPAD 2 with WIFI only, is able to download anything and everything using the same WIFI connection. Is anyone else facing the same problem?

Check settings, general, restrictions. Make sure I tunes is set right. Otherwise, log onto your account in I tunes, and make sure there is nothing strange going on with your accout. If it works in the app store, it should work in I tunes.

Why would you start another account?
You cannot transfer purchases to another account.

You could try contacting the iTunes Music Store Customer Service and you may be able to persuade them to sanction a second free download however they are not under any obligation to do so. The policy on lost songs is that you have to pay to download them again:
"Once a Product is purchased and you receive the Product, it is your responsibility not to lose, destroy, or damage the Product, and Apple shall be without liability to you in the event of any loss, destruction, or damage."

Common errors: 2, 4, 6, 9, 1000, 1611, 9006, 9807, 9844. Sometimes as a result of this issue, a device might stop responding during the restore process.
