I need to re-install Acrobat X

I kept getting a mandatory update message when opening acrobat X. Doing so resulted in a constant error message...so I unistalled Acrobat and now I need to re-install it. The install manager still shows it to be installed and I cannot re-install it. HELP NOW

Hi AWCPhotographs,
- Are you on Windows or Mac? Which version thereof, ex Windows 7 64-bit, OSX 10.8.1
- What error message are you getting?
- How did you uninstall? Did you run the uninstaller?
Control Panel > Programs & Features (Windows 7)
Control Panel > Add/Remove Programs (XP)
Mac HD > Applications > Utilities > Adobe Installers (Mac OS X)
If you didn't uninstall it with the uninstaller that might be the issue?

No your license for Acrobat Pro 10 does not allow you to install Acrobat Pro 11.  Please see http://prodesigntools.com/adobe-cs6-direct-download-links.html for information on how to download Acrobat 10 Professional.  Please make sure to complete the Very Important Instructions section prior to scrolling down the page and clicking on the download links.

I need to re-install Acrobat 9 Standard, when I click on download in my account,it days I have no downloads.
I have done this in the past to re-install this software and it worked fine.
    Any suggestion?

Std is available at Adobe Acrobat X (10) Pro, Reader, and Suite Direct Download Links | ProDesignTools the last time I checked. This time make a backup of your download on a CD or backup HD. Do not depend on the program always being available for download. This is the case for any software you purchase online.

  • I need to re-install Acrobat 9 in a new computer where I found software

I need to re-install Acrobat 9 in a new computer where I found software

Try the process in the post at http://forums.adobe.com/thread/1061905. If you are successful, then backup the software and put it in your archives for future use (write the SN on it). This should be done with any software you download. Companies do not generally keep old versions of software around on their sites. They generally expect you to archive it for the future or purchase a new version. That is even true for free software. So try the site and see if that does the job for you.

  • Need help in installing Acrobat XI Student & Teacher Edition under Windows Vista

    Hi
After spending the best part of two evenings trying to install this product I'm at my wit's end.  I bought it as a download from Amazon and the cost is non refundable, so if I can't get it up and running I've basically wasted £76!  I'd really appreciate some help.
My OS is Windows Vista.  I'm trying to install this on to my C Drive which has 17.6GB of space left.
Downloading the product from Amazon is no problem but when I come to install I get the following message:
"Adobe Application Manager, required to verify your license, is missing or damaged.  Please download a copy of Adobe Application Manager from http://www.adobe.com/go/applicationmanager "
When I've downloaded the Manager I get a message to download Adobe Support Advisor.  This gives the following error messages:
Installer Program "cpsid_82829s1: A restart is pending", bootstrapper error has occurred"
When I click on the link for corrective action this basically tells me to perform a restart after I have found and deleted the InProgressKey.  However the InProgressKey is nowhere to be found and no amount of restarts solves the problem.
I tried an uninstall (so I could reinstall to find out whether that solves the problem) but that gives the message:
"Error 1321.  The Installer has insufficient privileges to modify the file C:\Program Files\Common Files\Adobe\HelpCfg\en_US\Acrobat_Pro.helpcfg"
When I tried to manually delete this file I got "Destination Folder Access Denied - you need permission to perform this action."
(I am the administrator on this computer).
I downloaded the Adobe Clean Uninstall tool (I forget what it's called), uninstall was successful using this tool, I did another restart and then downloaded the product again from Amazon - but the same problems occurred as described above.
I'm just going round in circles here and not getting anywhere.  Any help would be sincerely appreciated.
    Many thanks.

    Hi gameboy95,
Acrobat is not support in Windows Vista. Please find the tech specs: http://www.adobe.com/in/products/acrobatpro/tech-specs.html and upgrade to appropriate version of Windows.

  • Web Premium Upgrade CS4 to CS5 - no need to re-install Acrobat Pro?

Just received Web Premium Upgrade package today. Currently have CS3 Web Standard. and CS4 Web Premium installed so will be removing CS3 Standard before attempting CS5 upgrade. My question concerns Acrobat Pro 9, perhaps obviously given the forum I'm posting in! :-) Would I be correct in assuming that given I have an up-to-date version of Acrobat Pro 9 installed as part of CS4 I can ignore the CS5 Acrobat installation? That's based on an associated assumption that the upgrade package is intended to also cover upgrades from CS4 Standard and other suites that did not include Acrobat Pro.

Apologies; answered my own question! From the CS5 installation instructions (online, not provided with installation package) "If you already have Acrobat 9 Pro installed, either as part of a suite or as a standalone application, you do not need to reinstall it." From http://kb2.adobe.com/cps/825/cpsid_82596.html

  • Re-install Acrobat 8

I need to re-install Acrobat 8. I have the serial nr in My Products, but don't have a download link in My Order History.

    Hi Frederik,
I took a closer look at your record and it looks like you registered an OEM copy of Acrobat 8 that shipped with a Sony Vaio computer you purchased.  You may want to check the media that shipped with your laptop.  The installation software may be on one of those disks.

My new computer crashed, now I have it back up and going and I need to re-install Acrobat 10 Standard.  I have the serial number but can't find where to download the version I have.  HELP!
    Judy

You can download the trial version of the software from the page linked below and then use your current serial number to activate it.
Be sure to follow the steps outlined in the Note: Very Important Instructions section on the download pages at this site or else the download will not work properly.

  • Download and Install Acrobat X on replacement computer

How do I access Acrobat X and d/load it on to my new computer - so that I can then upgrade to XI ?
I have the serial number etc.
    Thanks

You don't need to re-install Acrobat X in order to install the upgrade to XI.
Just download and install Acrobat XI, enter your XI upgrade serial number then enter your X serial number when prompted.

  • Problems installing Acrobat 8 Prof using transforms file

Need assistance with installing Acrobat 8 Prof. I used Adobe Customization Wizard 8 to create the transform file needed to configure Acorbat 8 Pro for enterprise deployment using SMS 2003. One computer was still waiting for the contents so it was decided that this computer will have Acrobat 8 Pro installed manually instead. When a staff member remoted into workstation and attempted to install Acrobat 8 Pro, he ran into some problems.
When staff member attempted to install Acrobat 8 Pro, he would get several registry key errors stating that it was not able to access those keys, permission denied. After close inspection, it looks like Acrobat 7 Pro was installed previously but was not removed entirely. The Acrobat 7 folder was still present with a few .dll files still in there. Attempted to delete the folder but error messages stating that the file was still in use, permission denied. Attempted to unregister the .dll files with no luck and staff member made himself the owner of the folders to be able to delete them and was successful.
Attempted to install Acrobat 8 Pro again using the following command line:
    msiexec /i acropro.msi TRANSFORMS=acropro.mst /qb.
Installation went okay and after reboot and first attempt to start Acrobat 8 for the first time, it went through the wizard to enter the serial number. The serial number was entered in the transforms file as well as other configuration settings. After closer look, it looks like none of the configuration settings took like shortcuts were still present and username and company name were not entered into product. Staff member attempted to reinstall again with no luck.
Is there a way to compeltely remove Acrobat 8 Pro so that when it is installed again, it would be a like a new install? Delete files, registry keys and so forth? The user of the computer has other Adobe products like Photoshop 7.0 and InDesign.
Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.
