If you want to record a Webinar, you will probably need screen capture software. Every recent Mac comes with QuickTime Player X, which will do this. Just click FIle/New Screen Recording. Then click on the red button to start recording.

Photo montage software that integrates well with iMovie and iPhoto?

Hello,
I need to do more complex photo montages that what iPhoto slideshow and iMovie has to offer. Does anyone have any recommendations for a software that integrates with the iLife software easily so it's fairly seamless? I need to produce professional-quality photo montages (ideally using photos and video, but I can pull the video in with iMovie or FCE after I do the photo section if I need to do so).

Hi,
Both of those cameras should be supported by PSE 12.
Just open the NEF file in the editor. It will first load the camera raw where you can do some adjustment.
When satisfied, make sure that the bit depth option is set to 8 bits/channel (bottom middle of camera raw window).
Click on Open Image to open the image in the main editor window.
Make any further adjustments you want to and then go to the File menu and select Save As
Change the format to JPEG, change the name if you want to and then click on Save.
You can adjust the quality on the next box (higher quality = larger file)
If you get a message about unsupported file format, it could be that you have use the old Nikon transfer program to copy the images from the card to your hard drive. This is knoow to cause corruption. See the following for a tool to correct the files.

The ExportPDF online service allows you to convert PDF files to Excel format. I'm not familiar with ATX software, but in general, the quality of the conversion depends on how well the original PDFs are written.

Can this be done with LR4 and Drobo FS?

When I import pictures on my MacBook Pro running Lion OS at home into LR4, I set it up to backup onto my Drobo FS which is a NAS device wirelessly via my home network.
Not being computer saavy at all, can I set up both my Drobo and configure LR4 on my MBP so when I am on vacation with the laptop, I can back up my vacation pics directly to the Drobo rather than carrying an additional external back up drive?
I've heard about Drobo apps, specifically Pure ftd, downloaded it and looked at the documentation but it might as well be written in Martian. Is this the way to go or is there another software program? I think pure ftd enables one to access your device, in this case, the Drobo, via the Internet. As I don't know anything about programming, I am completely lost when reading various forum threads about the set up.

Yes, that is exactly the problem with all cloud services for photo backup: how much volume do you shoot per day? What is the upload bandwidth you may count on?
I dropped any such notion, because with a daily volume of 3-6GB raw images all the hours of the night would not be sufficient to upload this via the usual ADSL-lines in Europe.
Directly within LR you can use any setup that you can select in the import dialog as storage destination for "make a second copy to".
E.g. If you can map your drobo as a drive.
If not, you could still use the ftp-mechanism to trigger the upload outside LR, after copying the images from your camera card.
But as said, all depending if your volume will make the upload during the time available at your bandwidth.

Can I sync Treo650 with AddressBook and iCal? How?

I've been an avid user of Missing Sync for many years and versions of both it and the Mac. Now, I get nothing but horrendous problems with Missing Sync version 6 just released... so I thought I'd try just not using it and instead using an Apple app to do it - iSync - but I'm loathe to go 'trying' iSync when my databases might be at risk of corruption or failure.
Can anyone give me some simple steps to use just iSync to sync Apple AddressBook and iCal with my Treo650? And are there likely to be issues I should watch out for in the migration from Missing Sync to iSync?

thanks for that. You're right - it does seem a little crazy to go backwards. But I've contacted Mark/Space about the issues SO many times without long term success (works once then fouls up thereafter) that it has become too tedious. Also, I just can't afford the time it has taken to attempt all their suggested fixes which have taken literally hours to complete several times over (plus taking days to get somewhere via their email-support system). A couple of days ago I attempted 3 syncs (all but one unsuccessful) which in total took 8.25 hours... which is unacceptable downtime for me, my phone and, to some extent, my computer.
I think I'll try the iSync option you've outlined - it just might be simpler. Much appreciated.

I’m not totally sure, but I suspect what you have in mind is not practicable.
Why not just split the Script in two?
It should certainly be possible to insert a confirm-dialog in a Script and have the Script continue only on confirm and stop on cancel.
The Scripts could store the information that the Script has been cancelled in a txt-file and have it elaluate the txt-file and only run a certain part depending on that, but it seems cumbersome.

When clicked they are downloaded and opened.
Is it possible for me to implement a situation where the user can drag the jpeg to adobe illustrator, and the file will download and open.

I have the latest downloadable version of LR5. It crashed while it was createing 1:1 previews during an import. After a Win7(64) restart, it shows a message that LR needs to quit because it can't read the preview files and it will try to fix it the next

I get that the preview file got corrupted somehow. Is there some way to fix this problem without building a new catalog?

Use Windows Explorer to open the folder containing your catalog. You will see a folder with the extension .lrdata. You need to delete that folder and then start Lightroom again. Lightroom will generate a new previews folder.

Please rephrase Your Question - I'm not clever enough to get it
There are lot's of Cameras that record in lot's of different ways that can be edited in iMovie.
No iMovie can not use all Video-Codec's in the World - they are zillions and many needs to be converted to something iMovie can open and work with.
• Still digital Cameras as Nikons - Import into iPhoto and then in iMovie Event's window import from iPhoto-videos title
• miniDV tape Cameras - connects only via FireWire - then just Import from Camera into Event's
• SD-Card or Hard Disk Cameras Connects most ofthen via USB and Import from "File or other"
• from Internet - (out of my range - Guessing) - most will need to be converted into something iMovie likes - I would try
- StreamingDV .dv - or -
- AIC (Apple Intermediate Codec)
So as You see - I don't get it !

You won't be able to, just by navigating out the iPod's photos folder in iTunes. You'll likely need the help of some sort of third party software to get the job done for you. One thing you'll want to keep in mind about these photos is that they are no longer in their full resolution, but instead are scaled down thumbnail versions that were optimized for viewing on your iPod's Video smaller 2.5" LCD display.
